When choosing a veterinary care provider, especially in a bustling area like Naperville, local pet owners weigh many factors, and the decision often comes down to personal experience and trust. VCA Naper Ridge Animal Hospital presents itself as a robust option with its extensive service list, from routine check-ups to advanced surgical procedures and specialized therapies like acupuncture. The convenience of an on-site pharmacy and grooming services is a major draw, simplifying pet care management for many families. Being part of the VCA network also provides access to resources and specialists that might not be available at smaller, independent clinics, which can be invaluable in complex cases.
However, the provided customer reviews present a stark contrast in experiences. One customer, who has been a long-time client, expresses profound gratitude and recommends the hospital highly, particularly praising Dr. Demers for their handling of end-of-life care and highlighting the relief brought by the VCA Care Club. This review reflects a deep, trusting relationship built over time, showing the positive side of the hospital's service.
Conversely, a highly critical review details a deeply negative experience, citing alleged neglect, a lack of professional integrity, and poor communication. This review, though representing one person’s experience, raises serious questions about consistency in care and staff accountability.
What this dichotomy illustrates is that while VCA Naper Ridge Animal Hospital offers a wide array of excellent services and convenient features, the quality of care can be highly dependent on individual staff members. For a pet owner, it is worth choosing VCA for its comprehensive offerings, advanced medical technology, and the financial predictability of its wellness plans. However, it is equally important to be an active advocate for your pet's care, communicate clearly with the staff, and, if necessary, seek different perspectives. The hospital has the capacity to provide exceptional care, as evidenced by its loyal clients, but as with any large organization, personal experiences can vary. For the Naperville community, it remains a resource with significant potential for those who find the right fit within its team.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1This review is long overdue.Worst veterinary place ever. In September 2024 I drove 1 hour each way to bring my foster puppies that had horrible diarrhea. I brought in stool samples for each puppy the first visit asking in fact begging to please test the stool samples so I know how to treat the puppies. I saw the vet tech throw the samples on the counter like they meant nothing. They threw the samples away.A couple weeks later I brought in a second set of stool sample for each puppy looking the vet in the eye that has horrible meth teeth and said please test the stool samples these puppies still have horrible diarrhea. She said yes I will however She did not test the samples either so I went through all that work collecting samples and driving a very long way to help these puppies and nothing. They also got kennel cough from this place.I do not recommend this animal hospital. The rescue tried blaming me for the diarrhea and I said you’re blaming the wrong person here as I’m not a vet, as i did my job and gave whatever medication you gave me. I did my job and way way more. You need to discuss this place's short comings for NOT doing their job properly. And the vet that out right lied to my face after telling me she would test the stool samples, shame in you!Don’t take your animals here pleaseNo your staff did NOT strive in taking care of the puppies not one but twice so please don’t say you strive! This facility had 2 times to make it right but failed both times. These puppies suffered because your staff failed to do the simplest thing and followed direction. It was like it was a joke to them. I didn’t mind driving far as long as the puppies got the care they needed. You must do better. I understand you don’t get paid as much to take on bills from a rescue however that is no excuse to not give the proper care. I pray your not lacking care to animals in need like my foster puppies needed. Shame on your staff. They all should be fired that were involved. That’s how passionate I feel about the situation.Update. This vet practice responded with an automated response including deflection from what really happened. Pitiful
July 10 · cindy guziakAt this time of my life, we have 2 young cats and a puppy. Four months ago we had two young cats and a senior dog. I’ve been going to VCA Naper Ridge for a few years ever since our last vet retired and I wasn’t comfortable with a few other places we visited before settling on VCA. I can’t recommend this vet highly enough. My animals have visited every one of the vets on staff and my senior dog used to be groomed by Nora as well. I’ll always be grateful for how my dog’s end of life care was handled by Dr. Demers. The bottom line is that every time I leave, I feel so happy and relieved that I go here. My puppy will be spayed soon and having the Care Club to make it workable to do it at VCA rather than free down near Joliet removed a tremendous amount of anxiety that I’d been having. Once again, I can’t recommend this vet highly enough.
August 27 · Joshua SherwoodI brought my dog in today because she needed her anal glands expressed. The vet brought her in the back and I could hear her screaming and crying during the 10-12 mins she was back there. Then the vet came out and told me they would need to sedate her and it would be over $600. Why wouldn't they tell me that before they hurt her so bad? I was so upset and I could still hear her crying.I told her I could not afford $600. So she said they would send her home with antibiotics and I should bring her back in 10 days. When they brought her out she was frantic and bleeding from her behind. She was terrified and turning in circles. I took her outside and tried to wipe the blood from her behind. They charged me $232 for less than 15 mins.I will never go back there again.
June 14 · Jane GilmerMy experiences are with their emergency services. They were so compassionate and kind as we had to make the difficult decision to let go of our Tess. All staff were so caring, calm and patient. We so appreciated during such a sad time.
March 05 · Joyce LyonsI switched my fur baby to VCA Naperville Ridge in 2021 and it's been the best experience. We have had many health emergencies and they are always attentive and responsive. I also love how I can hear the staff enjoying how awesome she is during procedures behind the scenes. I can trust that she's in good hands when getting her lab draws and shots. The staff enjoy what they do, and take time answering questions.
