★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1We think that the doctors and staff are very good at this location. We had our dog, Hank, an older rescue for eight years and brought him here exclusively. He was a special dog with trust issues, especially with men. The doctors were very understanding and took great care of him.He passed approximately one month ago and it has taken me this long to write a review. Each time we brought our dog here for care we never felt rushed. The doctors took their time and let us ask as many questions as we needed. When it came time to say goodbye to Hank, they were very compassionate and helpful. In addition, they sent a very nice sympathy card after a few days.We are very thankful that we had a wonderful Animal Hospital close by with great providers. We recommend VCA Sand Lake Animal Hospital.
August 18 · Patrick MoranWorst vet experience of my life. I called ahead and asked for a price for euthanasia. I gave the receptionist the details and asked for a quote. I was told 100 dollars for the euthanasia, plus 150 more for a group cremation or 280 more to keep our good boy's ashes. When we got there, they gave our dog a sedative, then put in an IV, then gave him another drug. We are all crying and hurting because we love our dog. Then, it gets so much worse. The nurse pulls my fiance out and tells him that because our dog nipped a kid, and we don't have his vet records (we recently moved from Idaho) available, the cost will now be 1,000 dollars. Mind you, I told them about the nip over the phone, and they quoted the other price. We could not afford 1,000 dollars, so they load the dog back in the car and we have to go somewhere else, at 6 pm, to have our dog put to sleep. And they are still, still charging us for the drugs they used. After all of that. Please be compassionate towards yourself and take your dog anywhere else.Updated to add - the clinic called and left a message that they would refund the cost of this visit. However, I feel that they are only doing the right thing because of this review. My family's trauma and hurt from this are still very much our reality.
August 01 · Lark HeartWe have worked with many veterinarians and specialists over the years. As we were on vacation in WI, our senior dog became ill. Sand Lake VCA hospital was accommodating and made an appointment with Dr. Brooke. Over the course of a week, our dog was seen 3 times in order to diagnose and make a treatment plan. Dr. Brooke was committed, compassionate and up front with the treatment plan. Unfortunately, on the third visit, the decision was made to euthanize. Dr, Brooke saw us through from start to finish with professionalism, compassion and support. We appreciate everything the VCA hospital and staff did for us during this extremely difficult time. If we lived in the area, we would choose this hospital and Dr Brooke without hesitation.
July 04 · Rebecca HoleGreat people who really care about my dogs health! The care club program is a nice deal, especially for new dog owners!
May 07 · Tullen FarrellAmazing service and care for your pet’s needs. They reached out after my cats procedure a few times to make sure everything was going well with him and provided guidance on his recovery. They truly go above and beyond. Definitely recommend them.
