Vetco Total Care Animal Hospital Introduce
For pet owners in the Louisiana region, especially those in and around Metairie, finding a veterinary practice that is both highly knowledgeable and genuinely caring is a top priority. Our pets are not just animals; they are beloved members of our families, and their health and happiness are of the utmost importance. Vetco Total Care Animal Hospital, located conveniently on Veterans Memorial Boulevard, has built a reputation for providing professional and compassionate care that meets the specific needs of its clients and their pets. The hospital’s team, including skilled professionals like Dr. Lee, is dedicated to building strong, trusting relationships with every family they serve, ensuring that each visit is a positive experience centered on the pet’s well-being.
The quality of care at Vetco Total Care is best illustrated by the positive feedback from its clients. One pet owner praised the team's exceptional service, especially with a specific breed: "Dr. Lee, Allison, Marcela and Jayden were absolutely amazing. Our bulldog is such a specific breed I am normally weary of a new vet! Dr. Lee was so knowledgeable and great with our baby. The whole staff from start to finish was awesome!" This review highlights a key strength of the hospital: its ability to handle breeds with special health considerations. It’s a testament to the team's deep knowledge and compassionate approach, which helps alleviate the natural anxiety of an owner taking their pet to a new vet. The positive experience, from the vet to the support staff, shows a cohesive and dedicated team that is committed to providing a high standard of care.
However, it's important for local pet owners to be aware of the distinction between the full-service hospital and the in-store vaccination clinics that may be associated with the broader Vetco/Petco brand. A detailed customer review pointed out a significant disconnect between the two: "I am completely disappointed that Petco would allow there customers to think that this clinic is associated with the hospital and actually hurt at the breakdown of communication the veterinarian displayed when I decided to advocate for my bully boy." This client's experience at a "makeshift clinic" in the back of a store, which they assumed was part of the hospital, was a negative one. This feedback underscores the importance of scheduling appointments directly with the hospital at their permanent facility to ensure a consistent and professional experience. It is crucial for pet owners to understand that the Vetco Total Care Animal Hospital is the full-service facility, staffed by a dedicated team that provides comprehensive care in a proper clinical setting, as opposed to a separate, temporary clinic.
The location of Vetco Total Care Animal Hospital is a key advantage for residents of Metairie and the surrounding Louisiana communities. The hospital is situated at 3520 Veterans Memorial Blvd, Metairie, LA 70002, USA. This address places it on a major, easily recognizable roadway, making it a convenient destination for pet owners traveling from various parts of the region. The central location on Veterans Memorial Boulevard ensures that the hospital is accessible, whether for a routine check-up or a more urgent medical need.
For those who drive, the hospital's location on a main artery of Metairie provides a straightforward route with minimal navigation challenges. Being located within a Petco store often provides the added convenience of ample parking, which is a significant benefit in a busy suburban area. This ease of access helps to reduce the stress of a vet visit, which can be a relief for both pets and their owners. For residents of Metairie, Kenner, and other nearby areas, knowing that a trusted veterinary hospital is just a short, uncomplicated drive away offers immense peace of mind.
It is important, however, to distinguish the full-service hospital from any in-store vaccination clinics that might be present at the same Petco location. For the best experience and most comprehensive care, pet owners should make an appointment directly with the Vetco Total Care Animal Hospital, ensuring that their visit is with the dedicated hospital team in the proper clinical setting. This distinction, as highlighted by a client review, is vital for ensuring a positive experience. The hospital’s permanent facility is designed to be a welcoming and professional environment where the full range of veterinary services can be provided effectively and compassionately.

Vetco Total Care Animal Hospital Reviews
Dr Lee, Allison, Marcela and Jayden were absolutly amazing. Our bulldog is such a specific breed I am normally weary of a new vet! Dr Lee was so knowledgeable and great with our baby. The whole staff from start to finish was awesome!
Nov 16, 2024 · amy fleschMy English bulldog had a 5 o’clock appointment on Sunday. We arrived at the Petco location to find out the actual hospital was closed. I became a little concerned and asked one of the Petco employees what was going on and I was informed that there was a clinic in the back of the store. In the corner, there was a makeshift clinic in which to give vaccinations. I immediately became hesitant, but thought, these are the same people that my 10-year-old English bulldog has been receiving healthcare services with and now my one-year-old bulldog would receive care from them as well. The vet tech took minimal information from me and the vet proceeded to call my English bulldog to the corner area to start the vaccination shot process. The veterinarian had to crouch down in this very tight space in order to take a look at my bully. He tried to draw blood but was having a more than difficult time locating a vain. He was fishing around in my dog’s front left leg for quite some time until I became a little alarmed and I think he could sense that and then he turned my bulldog around and begin to fish in right hind leg until my bulldog yelped and that was enough! I asked that the vet not continue to fish for a vein in his right hind leg, and at which time the veterinarian decided to take the lower road and became very condescending with a speech about my pet being a Bulldog. To which my rebuttal was what does that have to do with him not being able to locate a vain and hurting my puppy. I asked him to skip that particular shot and administer everything else to my puppy and we would go to the hospital to have that shot given. At which time the veterinarian said that it was my perception of things that were going on and I told him no it was not. I can clearly see with both my eyes what was happening and I did not like it. The rest of the shots were given to my bulldog, and I had no problem with paying for the services that we did receive. As soon as we left the location, I tried to give Petco a call, there office was closed. I made an appointment with the actual hospital for the following day. I arrived to Petco pet care to receive the shot for my English Bulldog that we did not receive the previous day and was told that they had no affiliation with the makeshift clinic that was in the back of the Petco location. They also had no record of the shots that my English Bulldog received and I had to pretty much guess which shot was not administered so that I could have it given to my bulldog. It was the heart-worm shot, which is one of the most important shots. I am completely disappointed that Petco would allow there customers to think that this clinic is associated with the hospital and actually hurt at the breakdown of communication the veterinarian displayed when I decided to advocate for my bully boy. There are several veterinarians in my area, yet I choose Petco care for my pet’s healthcare needs!
May 19, 2025 · Romika WatsonMy issue isn't with the drs or the assistants.Very nice and informative this was my second visit different pet. First time I went same issue with the receptionist. Rude, not informed, not helpful, questioned me as if I'm lying about a coupon that was clearly sent to my email. Kept having to verify with other personal. Made me feel very uncomfortable just like the first time I visited. I didn't say anything the first time but almost a year to the day and the person still has the same attitude. Just let me say both times my bill was close to $300. It's not a huge amount but It's my hard earned money that I'm spending there. At the very least I should have been treated with a little more respect. My visit was 1/26/2025Zero Customer ServiceResponse?
