---Choosing a veterinary service in Washington often comes down to balancing cost, convenience, and the type of care your pet needs. The Vetco Vaccination Clinic in Puyallup presents a very specific value proposition for local pet owners. Its primary strength lies in its affordability and accessibility for basic, preventive health needs. For those who need to get their pet's annual vaccinations or a microchip without the financial burden of a full veterinary check-up, Vetco can be an excellent option. The absence of an exam fee for these focused services makes it a budget-friendly choice that ensures your pet's core health needs are met.
However, it is crucial for pet owners to understand the nature of this service. Vetco is not a full-service animal hospital, and this distinction is a key consideration. The clinic is focused on wellness and prevention, and as such, it is not equipped to handle comprehensive medical exams, complex diagnostics, or emergency care. The customer reviews provided highlight this distinction and also point to a potential challenge with administrative and customer service issues, particularly regarding scheduling and communication. One review described a frustrating experience with a last-minute cancellation, while another mentioned a vet who did not interact with them. This feedback suggests that while the medical aspect of the care (the assistants' performance, for example) can be positive, the overall client experience can be inconsistent.
In summary, if you are a pet owner in the Puyallup area who needs a quick, affordable, and no-frills option for your pet's routine vaccinations and parasite control, Vetco Vaccination Clinic is a viable choice. The convenience of its location within Petco and its cost-effective model are its strongest selling points. However, for complex health issues, ongoing medical conditions, or a desire for a personalized, long-term relationship with a veterinarian, a traditional full-service veterinary clinic would be a more suitable option. It's best to go into a visit with clear expectations: you are there for targeted preventative care, and the primary benefit is the cost savings and efficiency of the service.

July 13 · Renee OsborneI was going to come here because i was in a crunch to get my new pup her next round of vaccinations, and with all the vet clinic being booked out for months this was the easiest option. I booked the appointment at the beginning of the week, and would be making an hour drive as well as taking a day off work to be there. I was informed that there was a scheduling issue (AFTER i called to ask how to fill out the intake forms) and that they were backed up, that was no problem. With 5 minutes to spare before pulling into the vet clinic, they tell me they can no longer get my pup in. Of course i explained that i just took time off work and made the drive to be there, hoping there was something they could do for me, but instead, they lady I spoke with was extremely rude and completely unapologetic. All in all I have no idea what the service could have been like but just based off of the complete and utter chaos that consists with their scheduling alone, i would not take mg let’s here, even in a crunch. Not worth the hassle.
April 19 · alyssa wilhiteI was skeptical going here due to all the negative reviews, but didn’t have any other options. They were incredibly kind and gentle with my cat! Very professional and positive as well! I would recommend giving them a chance yourself, I left very satisfied and my cat was in good hands.
July 12 · Kristen HulburtAvoid this place. First off let’s start with the one positive aspect, the scheduling system is very organized online. Once you get in this place just be prepared for the staff to fumble around on their tablet for 20 minutes to get you checked in. Even with an appointment be prepared to wait for a long time. The clinic is just a plastic fold up table with a bath towel set up in the middle of the dog food aisle in the store. The staff is extremely ill equipped and unprofessional. I just moved from out of state, so I chose this clinic while we are finding an established vet. My 2 cats were due for their yearly vaccines so I wanted to make sure they got them on time. I was so happy that Vetco could it, but this experience has been absolutely awful and I cannot understand why it’s such a fiasco just to get some basic vaccines. The first time I went the vet tech’s pants were falling down and she had her entire rear end out on display. She cussed at my cat and man handled him and got mad when the cat was upset, notated it in his chart that he was aggressive. Never in my experience with my cats at a vet has he been mistreated or mishandled until Vetco. My cat has never had any temperament issues at the vet. When I took him in again for boosters they refused to see him. I’m thrilled about that because it’s time to find better care anyways. Another massive downside is the obscene costs. It cost $310 to vaccinate 2 cats with their yearly vaccines, boosters and rabies. They were trying to upsell me for a bunch of other stuff too which I declined because all we needed was yearly vaccines. They don’t even do an exam so those fees are all vaccines only. Take your animals somewhere else, for the price you pay and the disorganized mess it’s not at all worth it the headache.
December 16 · Jordan ShirkWas told my cat was “too stressed/overstimulated” to receive his shots and thus they told me they couldn’t do them and sent me on my way. Never had an issue going to a normal vet before but just seemed like they didn’t want to deal with him here. Of course he’s gonna get scared and jumpy when he’s about to get a shot, doesn’t any animal? He does the same thing at the vet but they still give him the vaccines. Won’t be coming back in the future.
