Veterinary Behavior Solutions Introduce
For pet owners in the great state of Texas, the bond we share with our animal companions is incredibly strong. When our dogs, cats, or other pets exhibit behavioral challenges—such as anxiety, aggression, or phobias—it can be distressing and feel isolating. Thankfully, there are veterinary professionals who specialize in these complex issues. Veterinary Behavior Solutions, located in Carrollton, Texas, is a practice dedicated to diagnosing and treating a wide range of behavioral health problems in pets. Unlike a traditional veterinary clinic that focuses on general medicine, this practice provides expert, specialized care to improve the quality of life for both pets and their people.
The philosophy at Veterinary Behavior Solutions is centered on a comprehensive and compassionate approach to behavioral medicine. The clinic, led by Dr. Florsheim, a veterinarian with a specialization in behavior and acupuncture, understands that a pet's behavior is often influenced by a combination of factors, including genetics, environment, and underlying medical conditions. Their method goes beyond simple training, delving into a pet's "whole" health to address the root causes of their behavioral issues. This includes using scientifically and ethically appropriate methods of behavior modification, as well as considering ancillary options like medication, supplements, and nutrition. The goal is not just to manage symptoms but to create a treatment plan that truly helps a pet live a happier, less-stressed life.
This practice operates with a strong team approach, working collaboratively with pet owners to develop and implement effective solutions. They are known for their dedicated staff who provide extensive support through follow-up consultations via phone and email, ensuring that pet owners feel empowered and supported every step of the way. This level of personalized care and attention is what sets them apart. They are one of the few practices in the North Texas area that focuses exclusively on behavior medicine, making them a go-to resource for pet owners and other veterinarians who need expert assistance with challenging cases. Their commitment to helping pets with complex issues like fear, anxiety, and aggression is both a specialized service and a lifeline for many families.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1If i could give zero stars I absolutely would! This company is not transparent and engages in highly questionable business practices. They claimed they had sent us an email detailing the pricing — we never received it. We thoroughly checked all inboxes and folders, and it simply wasn’t there. Despite this, they proceeded to charge us fees we never agreed to and insisted everything had been communicated, which was not the case. Whether through negligence or intention, this lack of clear communication and accountability is unacceptable and reflects extremely poor business conduct.
April 07 · rylee spenceWow I finally feel I am moving forward with my dog. Dr. Florsheim and her team are top notch and know what they are doing. And I am looking forward to working with them and getting my dog better.
March 13 · J & Bluey AlCouldn't recommend them any higher! I know people stress about them being booked months out but we received multiple calls for cancelation openings within two weeks or so of initially scheduling.Beth is also an awesome trainer who works hands in hand with the vet.Highly recommend!Almost messed up and sent our dog to a board and train which would of made the issue worst.
April 04 · Gideon BridgesFantastic. I got some amazing tips for Cooper and have implemented some of them for him. So far, 20 days without a litter box mishap. Thank you!!!!
May 31 · Evelyn MurphyI have a giant breed St Pyrenees that has restraint issues. He becomes very aggressive when he feels threatened or restrained. Dr. Buffington took the extra time required to sedate and treat my dog. Dr Buffington understood the animals behaviour and treated him as well as referring him to a behavioural treatment specialist. Yesterday my St Pyrenees had a baby rabbit in his mouth, I was very shocked to see him put the baby on the grass making it obvious he was only protecting it from my Great Pyrenees female. The baby rabbit was reunited with its family of many under my storage building. Proving he has a gentle nature and just needs training for his restraint issues just like Dr. Buffington said. Thank you Dr. B and your entire anamil loving staff. See you next visit. Larry Smith/ Chausser and Tiffie
