Services Offered
As a specialized referral practice, Veterinary Surgical Referral Practice focuses primarily on advanced surgical procedures for pets. Their services are designed to address complex conditions that often require a higher level of expertise and specialized equipment than general veterinary clinics typically offer.
- Orthopedic Surgery: This is a core area of expertise, encompassing a wide range of procedures related to bones, joints, and ligaments. This includes complex fracture repairs, cruciate ligament ruptures (like TPLO or TTA procedures), patellar luxation correction, and joint stabilization. Their focus on orthopedics ensures that pets with mobility issues or injuries receive highly specialized care to restore function and reduce pain.
- Soft Tissue Surgery: The practice performs various soft tissue surgeries, which involve internal organs, skin, and other non-bone structures. This can include tumor removals (oncological surgery), gastrointestinal surgeries, urogenital procedures, thoracic (chest) surgeries, and complex wound management. Their ability to handle such diverse soft tissue cases is critical for pets facing serious internal medical conditions.
- Oncological Surgery: For pets diagnosed with cancer, the practice offers surgical removal of tumors as a key part of their treatment plan. This often involves precise and extensive resections to ensure the best possible outcome, sometimes in conjunction with other therapies. The patient testimonial highlights their compassion during such difficult diagnoses, even when it involves procedures like limb amputation.
- Advanced Diagnostic Imaging for Surgical Planning: While not explicitly listed, a surgical referral practice typically utilizes advanced imaging modalities such as radiography (X-rays), ultrasound, and potentially CT scans or MRIs to accurately diagnose conditions and meticulously plan surgical interventions.
- Post-Operative Care and Management: A crucial component of surgical success is comprehensive post-operative care. They provide detailed aftercare instructions and support, ensuring pets recover smoothly and effectively. The review specifically mentions their "amazingly helpful with aftercare" and follow-up calls to check on patient progress.
- Pain Management: Integral to surgical recovery, they implement advanced pain management protocols before, during, and after surgery to ensure patient comfort and promote healing.
- Consultation Services: They work closely with referring veterinarians, providing expert consultations to determine the most appropriate surgical approach for complex cases.

Veterinary Surgical Referral Practice Reviews
They took amazing care of my boy from start to finish. They were amazingly helpful with aftercare and Dr. Clark even called to ask how things were going. They are honest, fairly priced, and do everything they can to ensure the best possible outcome for your pet. All times I went were during covid, so I do not know how clean the inside is however there was no infection after my dog’s hip surgery and he came out smelling like a sterile hospital, so I believe it is safe to say they are very clean. Callie was the receptionist that I always spoke to and she was wonderful as well. That whole staff really just made the entire 8-week process a breeze and I am forever grateful. Thank you!
Jun 09, 2021 · Haley CornThey are literally saviors. We live in east TN but drove to Cary to have surgery on our dog mudges leg. Unfortunately the diagnosis was not what we wanted. Our dog ended up having cancer. The assistant came in and was so supportive of our boy and going through the comfort measures of making sure he was comfy. We decided to go ahead with the surgery to remove his back leg to enhance his comfort. The assistant even gave us tips on having a tripod dog since she had one. That was last October. Since then our dog has gone downhill and he’s in the last month of his life. They have still kept in touch with us and asked how he is doing and what they can do for us. Such a great team and such an amazing office. Update our dog has passed but the vet office sent us a card with everyone that helped us and signed it personally.
Jul 03, 2019 · Michael WhelanQuartet is the first place I would take my pet for a serious emergency issue. The staff is kind, well qualified, and accommodating. My 8 month old kitten received the best possible service for a midnight emergency and the fee was extremely reasonable. I recommend you trust them with your next urgent visit!
Feb 19, 2020 · Dustin KleinDr. Shultz and Dr. Gallagher we’re amazing at caring for our Dachshund Levi! He needed surgery for a disc that herniated in his back from IVDD. From start to finish they treated him promptly and ensured we were doing everything we could for him and encouraged us to recover at home once he was ready. They are the most affordable emergency vet care around and we traveled from out of town to be there! I will forever be thankful for the care they have given Levi and our family during such a emotional time. They gave us 80-90% odds Levi would walk again and for that, that is something I don’t think we could ever repay!🎉❤️
Jul 07, 2021 · Emily DeanQuartet offers excellent communication and service dedicated to your pet's comfort and health. The staff was very polite and thorough, even in the middle of the night. I'm sure emergency vet services are not easy jobs, and this staff seemed top notch. Glad to have Quartet close by, gives me peace of mind. Cowboy doesn’t love medical facilities, but he seemed happy (and well cared for) coming out.
