West Cobb Veterinary Clinic Reviews

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I generally do not ever leave reviews, especially with something like this because I am IN THE FIELD. I have been a technician for almost a decade and am flabbergasted by this interaction.Firstly, scheduling an appointment was like pulling teeth. My dog has a ruptured anal gland abscess and I wanted to get her seen, I asked if they had anything after 4pm bc that's when I get off. The lady at the front desk said it would have to be a morning appointment because my dog would need to be sedated. This is a wildly inappropriate comment for a receptionist to make. I was not aware your receptionists were practicing medicine but I digress.I needed abx and pain meds for my dog, so I ask if I can just get her in, if she needed to be sedated, I can bring her back in as a drop off. This was apparently confusing. We get her scheduled, my husband has to bring her in because I wasn't able to get off work in time, no problem I trust the vet (so I thought). First off there's just a kitten loose in the lobby, which luckily my dog is good with cats - but what happens if a reactive dog comes in? Seems responsible. The appointment itself was fine (I wasn't there obviously but my husband had no issues). I asked my husband to get an itemized estimate for the sedated anal gland flush. When he asked the receptionist she said something to the effect of "You mean the sedation your wife absolutely refused earlier?". Uncalled for and a lie. Why would I ask for an estimate if I am declining it?Lastly, the vet prescribed Rimadyl for my dog who weighed in at 33lbs. She dosed her 100mg daily, which is too high of a dose. The dose is 4.4mg/kg, she should be getting 75mg SID. I asked my husband to go back in with the medication so the doctor could double check, and they doubled down on the dose.I have just moved to the area and was recommended this place by some family friends. Unfortunately, I am leaving very disappointed.
