Services Offered (Based on typical veterinary practice offerings and client reviews):
- Spay Surgery: As highlighted by customer reviews, spay surgeries are a service offered, with clients specifically mentioning the positive experience regarding this procedure. This indicates a focus on routine surgical interventions.
- General Veterinary Consultations: Clients needing appointments for various reasons, including pain assessment or end-of-life care, suggest the provision of general veterinary consultations.
- Vaccinations: Implied by the need for general pet health care, vaccinations are a standard service in veterinary practices to prevent common diseases.
- Post-Procedure Care and Instructions: Reviewers noted clear take-home instructions post-surgery, indicating a commitment to guiding pet owners through recovery.
- Emergency Situations (with caveats): While a review mentions a pet in pain for euthanasia, suggesting readiness for critical care, it also highlights potential limitations regarding immediate availability (see Features/Highlights for more details).
- Pre-Surgical Information and Background: Clients have reported receiving clear explanations and background information regarding procedures and the veterinarian's qualifications.
Features / Highlights:
- Highly Praised Surgical Expertise and Outcomes: A significant highlight is Dr. Lauren's skill in spay surgery. A client explicitly stated, "I knew my kitten was in good hands. I had the same great interaction at pick up. Clear take home instructions. The kitten was not overly groggy post procedure which made after care easier. Do yourself a favor and call Dr. Lauren Wisser when looking for veterinary care, you will be very happy that you did." This suggests a high level of surgical competence and effective post-operative management, leading to positive patient recovery for New York pets.
- Clear Communication and Client Education: Clients appreciate that "She explained everything very clearly, shared her background with me and gave me an opportunity to ask questions." This commitment to transparency and empowering pet owners with information is a significant positive feature.
- Affordable Pricing, Especially for Surgeries: A recurring theme is the cost-effectiveness of services. A reviewer traveled from Rochester because "Her prices are what initially brought me to her, veterinarians in the Rochester are are asking 3x to almost 4x times as much for the exact same services!!" This makes Wisser Lauren a potentially attractive option for New York residents seeking more budget-friendly veterinary care without compromising quality.
- Responsive Initial Contact for Appointments: For new clients, "She responded quickly after I submitted my form on the website," indicating an efficient and timely response system for scheduling.
- Mixed Reviews on Compassion and Availability in Urgent Cases: It is crucial for potential clients to be aware of contrasting experiences. While some praise the doctor's professionalism and care for planned procedures, one review critically notes a highly distressing situation where a pet in "PAIN" needing "euthanized" was reportedly "turned away and refused to be seen because 'the Dr is too busy'" due to "lunch time" and personal commitments ("LEFT TO GO MAKE HER TEENAGE CHILDREN LUNCH"). This review describes the doctor as a "POS 'Dr'" who "should be ashamed of herself and should probably find a new profession bc this one is clearly NOT for her." This conflicting feedback regarding availability and empathy during critical moments is a significant point for New York pet owners to consider.
- Inconsistency in Client Experience: The juxtaposition of a "5 stars across the board" review with a very negative account of being "turned away" highlights a potential inconsistency in service delivery or a difference in handling routine versus emergency/sensitive cases. Prospective clients in New York should weigh these varied experiences.

In conclusion, for pet owners in New York considering veterinary care in Mount Morris, Wisser Lauren presents a unique set of considerations. On one hand, there are strong commendations for her professional surgical skills, clear communication, and notably affordable pricing, particularly for common procedures like spays. These aspects can be highly appealing for New York residents seeking cost-effective and competent care. Clients have reported excellent experiences with scheduled services, feeling confident that their pets are in capable hands and receiving thorough post-procedure instructions. The ease of communication for scheduling also stands out as a positive.
However, it is equally important for prospective clients to be aware of the very critical feedback concerning the handling of urgent and emotionally sensitive situations. The reported instance of a pet in severe pain being turned away due to personal commitments, despite having an appointment and deposit paid, raises significant concerns about compassion and availability during critical times. This stark contrast in experiences suggests that while the practice may excel in scheduled, non-urgent care and affordability, pet owners in New York should carefully consider their expectations for emergency or highly sensitive veterinary needs. We encourage all pet parents to weigh these diverse perspectives and perhaps discuss specific needs or emergency protocols with the clinic directly to ensure their expectations align with the services provided by Wisser Lauren in Mount Morris, NY.

Wisser Lauren Reviews
turning away an animal in PAIN (that was already at the office) because it's lunch time and you have to go make your TEENAGE children lunch!? The client called and said they were running behind due to construction and was told that it was fine but then gets turned away and refused to be seen because "the Dr is too busy" which was clearly a lie because she was still there but then LEFT TO GO MAKE HER TEENAGE CHILDREN LUNCH. This poor family had to deal with not only the fact that their baby was suffering and needed to be euthanized (the reason for the visit) on top of having to deal with a POS "Dr" who refused to see them after she already paid a deposit and had an appt. Dr Lauren Wisser should be ashamed of herself and should probably find a new profession bc this one is clearly NOT for her. After reading all of the bad reviews, I hope people stop bringing their animals here.

Her prices are what initially brought me to her, veterinarians in the Rochester are are asking 3x to almost 4x times as much for the exact same services!!On procedure day, Dr. Lauren treated us with a smile, detailed information and another opportunity to ask questions-I knew my kitten was in good hands. I had the same great interaction at pick up. Clear take home instructions. The kitten was not overly groggy post procedure which made after care easier. Sep 29, 2020 · Cate CiccoloneThe doctore doesn't care about animals at all. She turned away a suffering and in pain animal just to go lunch you should be ashamed. They over charge. Plus you can't trust anyone who won't even let you see what they are doing to your animal because they make you wait outside. Do not go here.
Jul 04, 2024 · Brittney CaccamiseWe called earlier this week to see if we could have our dog, an old boy on his last legs who had taken a turn for the worse, euthanized at home. We got everything set up, answered all of the questions, got a time set for today. (We ended up getting a confusing email about a different time for the appointment but didn’t question it and prepared ourselves since the times were close anyway). This morning, the day of the euthanasia, my mother got a call from the vet, who apparently fired the receptionist who spoke with us out of the blue, then told us she needed to charge extra for bloodwork, which is… understandable but why wasn’t that mentioned earlier? Then upon finding out that my mother isn’t vaccinated despite a negative COVID test this week told us we would have to have all of this done OUTSIDE regardless of PPE and precautions. In the freezing weather we would have to set our arthritic, dying dog in the cold for her to do bloodwork and tests and then euthanize him which would take time when the sole purpose of him being here is for him to be comfortable in his remaining time. My mother even offered for me, fully vaccinated, masked, to handle things and have this done in the doorway of our home while my mother stayed away so our poor boy could at least be a LITTLE comfortable and a little bit warmer. Nope. That wasn’t allowed either. I entirely understand anxieties about COVID-19, but given the endless miscommunication and refusal to work with any of us, especially with all else considered? Horrible conduct. Our boy deserves better than that. Glad we decided to cancel for his sake, even though I don’t agree with how my mother handled the cancellation, better to scramble to find someone else last minute who would treat our dog well than let our boy go through more.
Jan 20, 2022 · Cassie MarriottI highly recommend Lauren. She was able to see us with only an hours notice, she was very cautious about COVID safety, and she was very calm, kind, professional, and understanding even with my hysteric family.
