Animal Dental Clinic Reviews
Our elderly dog had developed chronic sinus problems and was rapidly deteriorating. Another veterinarian highly recommended Dr. Hall to get thorough diagnostics, and we are so grateful we were able to have our senior dog seen by him. While the results of the testing were heartbreaking — abnormal bone growth was blocking his nasal passages — it was incredibly important information for us to have in making the right decision.Dr. Hall was compassionate and kind in delivering this difficult news. We understand it can't be easy to share such serious information with someone you've just met, but his empathy made a painful moment more bearable. We are deeply thankful to have had clear answers, so we could make the most informed and loving decision for our sweet, beloved dog.
Jun 12, 2025 · V. S.My senior cat, Joey Bok Choy, has been a happy healthy (ish) cat his whole life. He is now 16 and I started noticing increase sneezing when we moved into our new house. Thinking it was from the move, being in a new home, and the massive amount of renovations we were doing, I simply thought that was all it was. It wasn’t until I found his upper canine tooth on the floor, I knew something was severely wrong.I immediately called the Animal Dental Clinic for an estimate and availability. Cristal answered the phone and was helpful, informative, and got me an appointment right away. She walked me through what to expect, from confirming the appointment via e-mail, the deposit, the consultation fee and what would happen during the consultation. Knowing whatever was going on was severe, I opted to have an appointment that morning and schedule surgery that afternoon. From the moment I arrived it was like seeing my old friends I haven’t had a chance to catch up with in a while. I was greeted by one of the assistants Everly, who brought us into the exam room, got Joeys weight, and immediately made us feel calm, cool, and collected with her amazing personality and fun sense of humor.Dr. Hall came in after and went over what would happen that day. He is exceptionally educated, patient, and genuinely cared about my cat. Because we don’t know what we are dealing with unless our pets are put under general anesthesia, full mount X-rays and CT performed, a full and thorough work up needs to be done before we can approach a treatment plan.Selena and Mecca were the assistants who kept Joey alive under anesthesia while Dr. Hall performed his miracles. They are both very sweet, kind, and personable. They made me feel comfortable knowing they would be monitoring Joey while he was under anesthesia. Selena called me when Joey had has his premed on board, getting sleepy and relaxed before going under general anesthesia.Shortly after, Dr. Hall himself called me to review their findings. He was thorough, straight forward, and discussed what he thought would be the best approach. I asked him in his professional opinion what we should do about my cats lower canines. If not extracted, they would cause abscesses hitting his upper lip, something I already began to notice when his upper canine had fallen out. Dr. Hall gave me two options, in which I elected to have them removed for the longevity comfort of my senior boy. Dr. Hall eased my anxiety and I was truly shocked when he said I could pick him up in an hour and a half, after we discussed my cat needing nearly full mouth extractions. When I came to pick him up, he was finishing up his surgery and I reviewed the discharges with Everly. The discharges were extremely thorough and virtually “idiot proof” with all the bold letters and different colored highlighted areas. He was sent home on pain medications and shortly after brought out to me so we could go home. When we got home I immediately noticed Joey’s attitude was improved. He was purring non stop, eager to eat, and slept with us all night like he always did. In the morning Dr. Hall called to check in and see how he was doing. I was sad to say I hadn’t noticed how much pain he was actually in, until he had his infected teeth surgically removed. My boy is back to his old self, running the house and holding the family together.I cannot thank the staff at the Animal Dental Clinic enough. What can be a stressful experience was a very soothing one from the very start to the very end. This team is exceptional and Dr. Hall is a kind professional with many many years of experience treating all kinds of animals, from small house cats to hippopotamus. He is the dental specialist surgeon you want treating your animal.I can’t recommend this clinic and this team enough, I am very satisfied and thankful to have had this experience!
Nov 16, 2024 · Cait DDespite working with dogs for many years, I never had much education on their dental health. While I knew my dog’s teeth weren’t great, my general practice vet never really explained the benefit of dental care. I spent a lot of time discussing with Dr. Hall and getting much more information not only the procedure but also the harm that comes from poor dental health. I noticed that my dog wasn’t as comfortable eating and one of her teeth actually fell out on its own. Animal Dental Clinic was able to fit me in quickly allowing my dog’s pain to be addressed sooner rather than later. The staff assisting Dr. Hall with his work also have a large love for animals and made me feel much better about my dog being under anesthesia. Thanks to them, I learned a lot more about animal dental health to take with me in the future. My dog had several teeth removed and all of the provided records made it easy to see and understand why. She had a very easy recovery despite being 12! She is back to her spunky self and can continue enjoying all of her favorite treats. I appreciate Dr. Hall and his staff for all the work that they do.
Aug 29, 2024 · Manuela SattlerPlease do your research first. I scheduled an appointment for teeth cleaning and did not read the reviews until the night before. I was very worried and wrote the office an email to cancel, even though they have a $500 late cancellation fee.Early the next morning the office replied with a thoughtful response that made me understand I could just go in for a consultation.I went with my dog and the vet was good, but I become worried when he talked about pulling 13 teeth. I told him I just wanted a cleaning. He said some other stuff and I asked I wanted to think about and he said, what do you have to think about? BTW, he had not even opened my dogs mouth because my dog was not willing or coming. I said, just a cleaning. He said to go to the front and do paperwork, while he took my dog to the back. I went to the front and waited while another person was at the window. Then I went to the window and she explained the bill. I started to worry about the cleaning and realized I needed to get my credit card from my car, at the same time. I went out to get my card and when I came back, I sat while she helped another person. I thought more about it and decided, no. I'm too worried and I'm going to cancel. I did the consultation and I'm not comfortable. When the other customer left, I told her this and she said they already started. I had not paid for anything yet. There was no paperwork completed yet. I told her to stop them. Luckily, it was just preparing him for teeth cleaning.$648 for prepping him before I agreed. However, she told me I verbally agreed when I allowed the vet to take my dog to the back for a teeth cleaning, even though I didn't do any paperwork.I will not go back and do not recommend unless you are fully aware and comfortable with this office.I would like a vet I'm not worried about and an office that does not rush. This was not an emergency. I should've had the chance to see the numbers/ cost.Good luck!
Mar 07, 2025 · Shana StormsDr. Hall and his team did an excellent job helping our 6 year old yellow lab, in a very caring manner. Over the years with our pet dogs, we never had one with severe gum disease. Dr. Hall saw us quickly within two weeks for an initial evaluation, while other animal dental specialists did not have an appointment opening for 3 months. We learned that most regular vets are not trained to identify serious gum disease during their regular annual checkups - which is what happened to us.Dr. Hall did a complete evaluation and dental cleaning, showing us X-rays identifying bone loss and painful loose teeth. We went with his recommendation on which teeth to extract in order to save the major canines and molars. Our dog’s recovery went well and the included 2 week checkup showed all was well.Again we are so glad we went with Dr. Hall and the Animal Dental Clinic in Vienna, Virginia.
