Animal Kingdom Veterinary Hospital Reviews
I’ve been bringing my two bunnies to Animal Kingdom Vet in Cary for the past few years, and I can’t say enough good things about the level of care and compassion they provide. From day one, their team has been excellent—scheduling is always easy and efficient, the office is clean and comfortable, and they’re incredibly responsive whenever I have questions or concerns. What really sets Animal Kingdom apart is how knowledgeable and considerate every single staff member is. As someone who rescued both of my buns, I needed help identifying their breeds and approximate ages. The team took the time to thoroughly evaluate them and made me feel supported every step of the way.One of my bunnies is a Flemish Giant mix, which comes with some unique care needs, and Animal Kingdom has done a FABULOUS job managing his more complex medical requirements with expertise and empathy. Most recently, I made the mistake of getting my male bunny neutered at a different clinic, and I quickly regretted it. When post-op issues arose, Animal Kingdom was incredibly kind, responsive, and got us in for an urgent consult right away. They provided the most thorough and compassionate follow-up care I could have hoped for and offered to contact the surgical clinic to make sure they had the most up-to-date records. If you’re looking for a veterinary team that will treat your fur babies like their own, look no further. Animal Kingdom Vet is truly the gold standard in exotic pet care!
May 04, 2025 · Gabrielle SchmaleI've had a great experience with all of the staff at Animal Kingdom with both my dog and guinea pigs! They are very gentle and understanding with my dog, who gets nervous/anxious, and I have found the clinic's environment to be much calmer and cozier than other larger clinics! Dr. Highsmith has been excellent with my pets and I am so glad I found Animal Kingdom. As a bonus, they accept PetAssure!
Sep 26, 2024 · Rose KaforskiWe had a wonderful experience at Animal Kingdom with Dr.Highsmith. We brought our rabbit in and she was kind, gentle and very knowledgeable! The staff there was also very kind and educated about bunnies. Thank you all for helping us with Ashe!
Jun 04, 2025 · Alison LeathersMy cat has been seen by both Dr.Highsmith and Dr. Midkiff and both times they treated her with much kindness and care. She can be an ill tempered kitty but I have not seen her hiss or growl once at any of the doctors or staff while being examined and handled by them which is a first! The office is a bit of a drive from where I am in Durham, but the treatment my girl receives from the doctor and their staff makes the drive well worth it.
Jun 19, 2025 · RoeTerrible experience for a rabbit owner. I brought my rabbit here to get fixed. I got a call from the vet after the procedure that he had been dropped on his face and chipped his teeth. Apparently he was still asleep from the surgery and was being carried by a vet tech, woke up while in her arms and started squirming and she dropped him. I guess she wasn't expecting him to wake up? Long story short do not take your rabbit here. The staff clearly does not know how to hold a rabbit properly. I am sure they are great with dogs and cats but obviously they are lacking in the rabbit area. You would be better off to take your rabbit to a vet that specializes in the area of exotics. The staff was kind and helpful and I really would not have an issue with taking my dog here. I was just nervous about getting my rabbit fixed anyway and then this happened so would just like to save my fellow rabbit owners the stress!
