★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1This vet is only focused on $$$$. Everyone including the front desk and the person on the phone when I called to schedule my dogs appointment pushed the "wellness" package after I told them I didn't want it. I went in for a pre-op to schedule a dental cleaning and the Dr said he would have to have another pre op appointment the day of gorgeous an additional $80. I said then what's the point of today? He said it was a "meet and greet". You want to charge me $80 to say hi to my dog. Are you crazy! I would never let these people touch my dog. They dont care about your pets health. Just $$$$
July 25 · Crystal ValentineHad an appointment for 1pm since yesterday (Sosa) to get told an hour before my appointment that 1pm was never available and to come in at 2. I then called to confirm for a 2pm appointment just to get told to come in at 3pm.. I work overnights and do not have time for this. Trying my luck in Tampa instead. And no I do not need a fake automated message from “ the owner “. Just make it right.Hello Erik, our aim is to provide a positive experience to everyone coming to our hospitals. We would like to follow up on your experience with us. Please reach out to our Client Advocate Team at BanfieldCares@banfield.com at your convenience, so we can try to address your concerns.
May 22 · Erik DWhat an operation this place is, 10 years of wellness plans and other services only to end up with an unfortunate ending.Within a 5 week time frame, I took my dog in for an annual visit. He had is blood work do e that came back ok with some elevated enzymes. However a mass was found on the inside of his leg that the Dr wanted to do a test on to see what it was.The needle test was conducted and we left. We were back in several days later as it was now severely infected. The visiting Dr was questioning me as to why the regular Dr did not prescribe any antibiotics or anti inflammatory meds, this Dr was shocked with what she found. As a result of this we spent another several hundred dollars not covered by the wellness plan. After a week of recovery we went in for surgery remove the mass by yet another Dr. The quote on the surgery did not cover the after care meds that were another several hundred dollars on top of the $1,200 plus surgery.Within the next two weeks he began developing bumps on this body, we returned to have the stitches taken out, I asked the Dr who was the surgeon about them he said “ Im not concerned about them” prescribed some supplements and medication for arthritis and an upset stomach and sent us home. We retuned agin to see the Dr as the dog was no longer walking correctly and eating normally, again he felt the bumps were not concerning although one was bleeding. This visit the Dr prescribed CBD oil and stopped al other meds that we spent Hundreds of dollars on.The next Tuesday we went back as the dog was no longer eating and could barely walk. The regular Dr was back and as soon as he saw him he stated he didn’t like what he saw. After several minutes of conversation the Dr felt it was in fact cancer. The decision to but him down was made as I was not going to let him suffer any longer. As the process began and I’m holding my dog the tech nonchalantly asks me to pick an urn like someone ordering a desert in a restaurant. Then asked me to come outside to make payment, while I’m holding a dying dog. I had to ask this tech to just charge the card on file. Again just before the Dr came to the room, the tech comes through the door with a form to sign authorizing the procedure. The total lack of empathy and how this company conducts it self at a patient’s and owners most emotional time is disgusting. The behavior of the tech was deplorable as in exiting of the room he stated to my deceased dog tell milo i said hi, that was his dog. It took everything not to respond to this person as i was in shock. What I can’t understand is how 3 Doctors with years of experience didn’t know this dog had cancer. I can’t accept the fact that they didn’t know. The fact is they operate on a for profit service, there was more money to be made on treatments they were not at all part of the solution, and allowed the dog to spend his last weeks suffering.Your wellness plan is a scam and your professionalism is deplorable. At the end when no more money is to be made you take the bill and that the euthanasia service. Finally after a week post loss, and reviewing legal issues against Banfield I decided to go get allmy dogs medical records. When asked why I want them, I told them for legal reasons and that was all. After printing was completed I was asked I my dog came back, I said no and that no one has called me. Turns out he was there in a bag on the FLOOR!!You careless disgusting people don’t even have the common decency to place the remains on a shelf or cabinet or even in the back room.I can just say that the last 5 weeks were the worst experience ever and I am shocked with your company’s behavior. Please know that this experience has now made it impossible for me to care for another pet, as I can no longer trust the people I need as Doctors to care to them. You failed in your mission to help those in need,I can only hope at least one person sees this and chooses a different veterinarian.Perhaps more will join a legal fight to end your predatory and sales driven services.
May 09 · Mike PetruzzelliThis is solely about one person there that I wish I’d said something too because he actually pissed me off. I’m not gonna lie I’m not gonna return. I found a coupon online saying the first visit was free so I only had to pay $30 for the shot that my pet needed. The staff were friendly, but when I’m waiting for the vet that was seeing my cat to come back, another guy comes in the room, have not seen him. Have not talk to him at all and immediately he comes in says so I heard “she’s not spayed. She needs to be spayed. She’s gonna get out she’s gonna get pregnant. That’s gonna happen. You need to get this done now.” Which yes I understand the importance of it but it’s also $1000 vet trip. Something I making minimum wage do not have the money for so I don’t need someone coming in telling me to do something instead of talking to me like the adult that I am in a conversation. Not gonna lie I just didn’t know what to say so I just said OK and shrugged at him like that just felt so disrespectful. I feel like if I’m going to a vet I’m paying someone for one treatment. I don’t need someone coming at me like it’s an argument like it’s a debate, about what my pet needs. I do recommend Clearwater animal clinic if anyone has experienced the same issues I took my dog there for her shot and they were so nice to the pet AND the owner.
February 28 · Sydnie DukeScheduled online for an In Room appt at 12:30. Came in 5 mins prior, waited for assistance for 10 mins. After providing the needed info and the Free first visit coupon I was informed they don’t do In Room visits until after 2pm. The Lady put me in a room to fill out paperwork while checking in another appt. While in the room, the vet was on the other side of the second door, loudly upset about online new patient appointments between 12-1pm and how he’s going to put his foot down and start denying them. He also got upset at the lady checking in clients, saying not to check anyone in if they aren’t doing a blood screening. Then continuing with ‘no appts at lunch time’. Not only would I have to leave my pet with these ppl for an hour or more after selecting In Room visit. The paperwork stated I’d be charged for flea medication, and the vet wanting to do a blood screening (addtl charge). I went in with the mindset of utilizing the free visit to see where my cat is health-wise and wanting to schedule a secondary appt for all the preventative needs. Now, I’ll never take my pet to a Banfield, sorry clients are such an inconvenience ESPECIALLY when they scheduled through your website for an appt. Maybe contact your corporate office and put that energy toward them, not passive aggressively toward new clients. No wonder they have a Free Visit coupon 🤦🏻♀️
