BOULDER & BEYOND Equine Veterinary Services Introduce
For horse owners in Colorado, the health and well-being of your equine companions are a significant responsibility. Unlike clinics for smaller animals, equine veterinary care often requires a specialized and mobile approach. BOULDER & BEYOND Equine Veterinary Services, led by the highly respected Dr. Charlotte Obermeier, stands out as a dedicated partner in this unique field. This article is written for local horse owners and enthusiasts, offering an in-depth look at what makes this service a trusted and invaluable resource for comprehensive equine care. Their commitment to professionalism and compassion ensures that your horses receive the best possible treatment, right where they are.
The core of BOULDER & BEYOND's service is its mobile veterinary model. This means that instead of you having to transport your horse to a clinic—which can be a stressful and difficult task, especially for an ill or injured animal—the expert care comes to you. This is a crucial distinction that makes high-quality veterinary services more accessible and convenient for horse owners throughout the Boulder region. Dr. Obermeier and her team are equipped to provide a wide range of services directly at your stable, pasture, or home, ensuring that your horse remains in a familiar and comfortable environment during a check-up or treatment.
In the world of equine medicine, the bond between a veterinarian and a horse owner is paramount. Dr. Obermeier's reputation, built over more than a decade of service, is a testament to this fact. She is known not only for her medical expertise but also for her exceptional "bedside manner." As one long-time client with multiple horses noted, she is always "willing to calmly talk me through all the options," helping owners make informed decisions with confidence and peace of mind. This level of personalized, communicative care is what truly sets BOULDER & BEYOND apart and builds a deep sense of trust with their clients.
Furthermore, the service’s readiness to handle emergencies around the clock provides an essential safety net for horse owners. Equine health can be unpredictable, and knowing that a skilled veterinarian is available for urgent situations, day or night, is a source of immense comfort. This commitment to being on-call for veterinary urgent care solidifies their role as a critical pillar of the local equine community, ready to respond when it matters most.
BOULDER & BEYOND Equine Veterinary Services is a mobile practice based out of 3776 Orange Ln, Boulder, CO 80304, USA. As a mobile service, the primary "location" is wherever your horse is located. This model is specifically designed for the convenience and benefit of horse owners, eliminating the stress and logistical challenges of transporting an animal to a physical clinic, particularly in urgent situations.
While the service itself is mobile, the clinic's administrative base is thoughtfully designed with accessibility in mind. It features a wheelchair-accessible car park, entrance, and toilet, ensuring that any in-person interactions, such as consultations or appointments, are comfortable and accessible for all clients. The presence of a clean toilet is a simple yet appreciated amenity that contributes to a positive experience.
Appointments are highly recommended to ensure that Dr. Obermeier can effectively plan her travel and dedicate the necessary time to each case. This structured approach allows for efficient and thorough care, whether it’s a routine wellness check or a specialized procedure. The primary contact method for all scheduling and communication is the phone number provided.
For all communications, including scheduling and emergencies, the phone number (303) 815-3462 is the key point of contact. This number connects horse owners directly to the service, ensuring quick and efficient responses to both routine inquiries and urgent calls.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I own 7 horses and Charlotte has been my vet for 12 years. I can’t say enough positive things about her professionalism and compassion. Charlotte is always willing to calmly talk me through all the options when something is going on with one of my horses so I can make informed decisions. When one of our older horses was sick, Charlotte tried what she could to help him feel better and talked my daughter and me through what was happening in his body. Her bedside manner gave us so much peace as we ended up having to say goodbye to my daughter’s best friend that day. Charlotte made all the arrangements for what to do after he died and sent both my daughter and I cards within days. My daughter still has that card from Charlotte in her room next to a picture of her horse because the words inside are so meaningful to her.I have tremendous respect for Charlotte’s opinion and trust her completely.

June 10 · Lottie GrimesDr. Obermeier is my favorite vet in the Boulder area. She helped me with the routine needs of my 6 horses. She is communicative, responsive, and very helpful. A major commonly used vet in Boulder would routinely over-sedate several of my horses for routine procedures leading to scary reactions in my horses, but Dr. Obermeier knew that drafts need less sedation. I appreciate her approach overall. She is a great vet. We no longer live in Boulder, but I miss having Dr. Obermeier on hand to help with all of my horses' needs. I think it's hard to find a great vet who is ethical. I've had not great experiences with other vets in the past large and small, but have only great things to say about Charlotte. She cares about the animals and offers great care and support for the people she helps. She offers a wise opinion you can trust.

September 11 · S KIf I could give this vet a negative 100 I would. Charlotte went to our property for a check up on our 36 year old horse and told us we should put her down. She said it would be "humane to just shoot her in her head." She said no one would need to know so as to hide it from my mom, the owner of this beautiful animal. The horse is thin, and we're trying to get weight on her, but she is still very much alive, happy, and coherent. It's a miracle she's this old but it's because she is loved and taken care of. My brother was digusted with the shooting in the head comment and said, "Well, I guess we'll feed her to the dogs." The vet agreed and said there's also people who will help dispose of the body. "What?!" my brother said, "No!!! When she passes away, we're having a family vigil." If you're looking for a vet that'll treat your pet friends like walking meat, Charlotte is the one to encourage you to execute them so give her a call.
