What is worth choosing
For pet owners in Kentucky, particularly those in the Louisville area, the decision of where to get your pet's medications is an important one. Chewy Pharmacy presents a unique option with its focus on convenience and delivery. The ability to manage your pet's prescriptions online and have them delivered to your home is a major draw. For routine medications, such as flea and tick preventatives, or for pets with long-term health conditions, this service can simplify your life and ensure consistent care. The pharmacy's integrated system with your veterinarian's office is designed to make the process as seamless as possible, although, as with any service, communication is key.
It is important to acknowledge that some pet owners have had mixed experiences with the pharmacy process, particularly regarding communication and the speed of service. These experiences often highlight the importance of proactive communication between the pet owner, their veterinarian, and the pharmacy itself. For instance, some users have noted delays in prescription verification or issues with generic medication names. While these are not universal experiences, they underscore the need for vigilance when dealing with your pet's health. It is always wise to plan ahead, order refills well in advance, and stay in close contact with both your vet and the pharmacy to avoid any gaps in medication.
Despite these potential challenges, the benefits of using a service like Chewy Pharmacy are significant. The sheer convenience of home delivery, combined with the extensive product range available through the wider Chewy platform, makes it a compelling option. The company's commitment to accessibility at its physical location is also a positive sign, indicating a broader focus on customer service. By understanding the process and being prepared for potential communication needs, Kentucky residents can effectively utilize Chewy Pharmacy as a valuable resource for their pet's health. Ultimately, it’s about finding the best fit for your family and your pet, and Chewy provides an option that prioritizes ease and access, which is something many local pet owners are looking for in today's fast-paced world.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Do yourself a favor and don't use the pharmacy at Chewy. The pricing is not worth the headache. Over a week ago I ordered a refill on a prescription and heard nothing back from anyone. Yesterday I called and they said they had received nothing back from my Vet and that my Vet was a "no call". I called my Vet and they said they had received nothing from Chewy and they speak to them regularly on the phone. Chewy then cancelled my order. My dog is about to run out of his medicine. The least they could do was notify me. I oddly received an email AFTER I called yesterday. Also they are constantly out of different medicines that are used regularly like Simperica Trio. It's not worth it, go to your vet or somewhere else.
February 10 · Sarah PerreaultChewy for normal items is amazing. That being said, avoid the pharmacy at all costs. You have to mail (1990’s style) the prescription in. If they use a generic version of the medicine they will send it back to you for you to have the vet update with that name. Process takes WAY too long and is too much of a headache. Then they call 20 times to remind you to mail it. I had someone tell me exactly what they wanted on the prescription. I just got a call that that they have to send it back to me because they need the generic name on the prescription. He only has 4 pills left and now we have to go back through this process again. We had the same issue with his prescription food. Just skip.

April 18 · Chace LangfordEven before COVID, I’ve had problems with Chewy losing the prescriptions multiple times. Most recently my vet faxed the prescription four times and Chewy could not find any of them any of the times I’ve called. A representative admitted they’re losing faxes. They were supposed to call my vet for verbal approval and then call me back immediately, but they never did. At this point it’s been three weeks since I initially placed the order and my vet first sent the prescription and nothing has been found. They shouldn’t be accepting this many orders if they can’t handle the volume as they’re literally putting dogs lives at stake. Now I have less time to find a way to get my dogs seizure medicine.

May 24 · Victoria PugliaI wish I could give Chewy 10 Stars! In October I switched to Chewy Pharmacy for my online pharmacy for my doberman’s monthly medication. Not only was the medication less expensive they gave me a introductory savings off my first purchase that was cost saving so I purchased 2 months supply. Sadly, my beloved Doberman was diagnosed with cancer in early December and passed very quickly. When the auto ship for her next box came up I called chewy and the customer service person was unbelievably nice and caring. She credited me the unused box of medication I already had even though I could of course not send it back.A few days later some beautiful flowers arrived at my home and they were from Chewy! A kind sympathy note was included and I just couldn’t believe it. I was so touched! Chewy has a forever customer!

January 07 · Cordelia PowellChewy is amazing! I love the pharmacy. Prices are much much lower than my Vet. I get my Rx from my Vet, send it to Chewy & this time I saved $28 difference from my Vets price. Customer service is the best. They are always looking for ways to help & even give free shipping with auto shipments. Check them out! On Rx u won't be disappointed!
