Hopewell Animal Hospital Introduce
In Kentucky, pets are more than just animals; they are cherished members of the family. When a pet is sick or injured, finding a veterinary team that you can trust to provide expert, compassionate, and life-saving care is absolutely critical. For residents of Jeffersontown and the greater Louisville area, Hopewell Animal Hospital is an outstanding resource that has earned a reputation for going above and beyond. What truly sets them apart, however, is the genuine and heartfelt compassion that permeates every aspect of their work.
The clinic's dedication to its patients is best exemplified by the extraordinary story of a 15-month-old Pitbull. After being turned away by another hospital, this desperate dog and his owners were brought to Hopewell just minutes before closing time. The compassionate response of the veterinarian, who not only immediately saw the dog but also recognized the urgency of the situation, led to a rapid diagnosis of an abdominal obstruction caused by a swallowed extension cord. This swift action, combined with a willingness to perform a multi-thousand-dollar surgery at their own expense to save the dog's life, showcases the hospital's profound commitment to animal welfare above all else. This kind of heroic action is what makes Hopewell Animal Hospital not just a place of business, but a true community hero.
Beyond the dramatic emergencies, the staff at Hopewell provides the same level of caring and professionalism for all their patients. As another client review highlights, when their long-time vet retired, they found a new home at Hopewell, where the team, including Dr. Brown, was understanding and kind during a pet emergency. The entire team, from the front desk staff to the veterinarians, works to create a welcoming and reassuring environment. They are committed to providing the best possible care for your pet, whether it's a simple check-up or a complex surgical procedure. This blend of medical excellence and profound empathy is what has made Hopewell Animal Hospital a go-to choice for so many Kentucky families who are looking for a veterinary partner they can rely on for a lifetime.
Furthermore, as a women-owned business, Hopewell Animal Hospital brings a unique perspective to veterinary care, one that is centered on nurturing and dedicated service. Hopewell Animal Hospital Reviews

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1My family owns a wildlife management business called Animal Ridders. Yesterday a woman called us in a frantic State thinking we were an animal rescue. She was sobbing her eyes out telling us how no one would help her. She had a 15 month old pitbull that had swallowed a foreign object 8 days prior and was on the verge of death. She went to Jefferson Animal hospital and they charged her $250 for the examination would not even give her an x-ray and simply sent her home with nausea medicine and told her to force feed the animal. This is the worst thing you could do for something with an abdominal obstruction. The only other thing they offer to do for her was to euthanize it. Her and her husband share one vehicle and he works full-time. We got in my mother's personal car drove to Crestwood to her apartment and loaded her dog up. We stopped by VSP in Middletown first and though they were cordial they were not much help but they did recommend Hopewell Animal Hospital on Taylorsville rd. We arrived there 7 minutes before they closed. The main veterinarian came out and that's why the dog looks so sad. I explained that he had an abdominal obstruction that had been there for 8 days and about the experience with Jefferson Animal Hospital. The owner was desperate to save the dog and told them that she would surrender the animal if it meant that he could get the care he needed. The veterinarian asked if he was good with children and other animals. The owner explained to her that he was a gentle baby without a mean bone in his body. The vet got down on her hands and knees in front of the dog and in as much pain as he was he started licking and kissing her face and she instantly decided right then that dog was not going to die today. He was x-rayed and they found a large extension cord in his intestines and he was on the operating table within 30 minutes of us arriving there. I am happy to say I called this morning and he survived the surgery and is doing very well. I cannot say enough good things about the compassionate staff at Hopewell Animal Hospital. They completely covered the cost on this multi-thousand dollar surgery. Other places quoted five to eight thousand dollars. They understand that sometimes you cannot just put a dollar figure on the life. I encourage anyone who is able and willing to please donate to this business. Their staff are heroes!
August 13 · Brice DarlingEveryone is so friendly and caring. My vet had just retired, and of course I had an emergency. Dr Brown was understanding and caring, aa was the rest of the staff. Nothing but good things to say about Hopewell
May 24 · Heather FrascelliMy name is Margie Darling. I had a lady call me today thinking I was a animal rescue business. I'm not, wildlife management business. Her boyfriend was at work and had the only car when she called. So I went and picked her and her dog up with my son. Her dog had eaten a foreign object and had an obstruction. She visited jefferson hospital and spent two hundred and fifty dollars, and they didn't even get her a x ray and sent her home with nausea medicine. And told her to force feed the dog. She didn't have the money for the surgery. We went to another vet beforehand and they wouldn't touch it because she didn't have any money, but they did refer us to Hopewell. Sadly, she had to surrender her dog, a very selfless act, so it could get the surgery it needed. I just want to say, I've never seen more compassionate people. We took her there five minutes before they closed. He had a power cord in his intestines. Before we left the x rays were already done, and on the operating table. God bless Hopewell, and I'm sure he will get a wonderful new home.
August 12 · Animal RiddersI mean, hell, I do not have enough time in this world to really give a review that this place truly deserves. I'll start with the love, trust, dedication and care from each staff member that you will receive from the second you walk in the door. The receptionists are great, Amber always puts up with me and is wonderful but they are all great here, the whole gang. The techs are friendly, quick and professional with my kiddos. My senior especially loves Sam 💙 she gives him a pawdicure every month and his arthritis shot. They do it all here and the whole place moves like a well oiled machine. Now, now let's get to the meat of it, Dr. Brown. This poor woman has seen me far more than she has probably wanted to through the years for all 8 of my fur babies. Yearly vaccines, pain management, anal gland expression, knee surgeries, UTIs, anything really, she's done it all for my family. Dr. Brown is honest, intelligent, down to earth and friendly. She's a straight shooter and will tell you your best option and always does a great job of helping make that fit into the client's budgets. The facility is beautiful and you can tell that Dr. Brown lost a lot of sleep designing her practice. As a handyman I absolutely think she did a kick ass job designing the new location. There's even a private room for clients to go into and mourn during that difficult time. It's beautiful. There's a comfy couch and a window that has sun shining in and tissues. If that doesn't show you what kind of place this is, man don't know what will. Anyways, time to light a cigarette and drink a beer because I have to stop at some point or I'm going to just write a damn novel about this place.
July 22 · AJ DonovanFriendly staff and dedicated veterinarians who put pets health first. Dr Brown and Dr Mittlecamp provide excellent care and guide you through all your pets needs. Hopewell was the only vet to work in our dog when we were new to the neighborhood and needed to be seen right away. We love Hopewell but more importantly our fur babies love them!
