Crosby Vet Services Introduce
**Crosby Vet Services**, located in Arcadia, is widely recognized by the Oklahoma community, particularly horse and livestock owners, as a premier veterinary resource. Led by Dr. Sam Crosby, a second-generation equine veterinarian with decades of experience, this practice has built a reputation not just on medical expertise, but on an incredible depth of dedication and personalized care for both the animal patients and their human owners.
The practice's specialty lies in **equine and large animal medicine**, with a notable focus on performance and reproductive needs crucial to the thriving horse and ranch communities across the state. Clients frequently highlight Dr. Crosby's willingness to go the extra mile, citing instances of critical care provided on-site, even for rare or complicated cases. For owners of livestock, such as those at the Oklahoma Donkey Dairy, finding a vet who understands specialized needs—like the complexity of milking equines—was a significant challenge that Crosby Vet Services successfully met.
Beyond the high-level care for critical or complex surgical cases (like the dangerous procedure of gelding a Mammoth Jack), a key feature appreciated by local Oklahomans is the commitment to **affordability and financial awareness**. Dr. Crosby is noted for constantly looking for ways to save customers money, choosing practical and effective alternatives over automatically prescribing the most expensive medication. This approach ensures high-quality care remains accessible to the hard-working farmers and ranch owners who form the backbone of the community.
Moreover, the practice acts as a valuable training ground for future veterinarians. Dr. Crosby dedicates time to mentor students, offering them a real-world, hands-on opportunity to learn the practical skills and the selfless dedication required to be a successful veterinarian. This dedication to education and community is a powerful testament to the long-term commitment of Crosby Vet Services to animal health in Oklahoma.
Crosby Vet Services is ideally positioned to serve the vast equine and large animal population around the Oklahoma City metro and surrounding rural areas. The practice's location in Arcadia allows for efficient travel to numerous facilities and farms throughout Central Oklahoma.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1- Dr. Crosby is one of the best equine vets in the state of Oklahoma, with an incredible heart for his patients, both human and equine. We are the owners of the Oklahoma Donkey Dairy, and finding a vet who understands equines and also the complexity of milking them was a huge challenge for us. When one of our beloved Mammoth Donkeys had a critical colic episode just weeks before her baby was due, Dr. Crosby came to our farm and did everything he could to save her and her unborn baby. Not only that, but he was willing to step off a plane at 1:00 am, and come straight to our farm if the situation had worsened. He also gelded our mammoth jack for us, and did an incredible job. (Gelding donkeys is much more difficult than gelding horses...they can easily bleed to death if not done correctly.) He did the job the right way, and our boy is doing great!Oh, and he doesn't just use the most expensive medication on the market, he's constantly looking for ways to save his customers money.Selfless. Dedicated. And willing to do whatever it takes.P.S. I searched for this website to get an address to send a thank you gift, not that it can even begin to express all we owe him and his team...when I saw the nasty review below, I had to share. That training she mentioned? Dr. Crosby gives his time training students who want to be veterinarians, it's an incredible opportunity for kids to learn how to actually BE veterinarians, from one of the best vets in practice.Oh, and he didn't vaccinate any of our animals without our permission. ;) August 14 · Saundra Traywick
- We love Dr Crosby and his team. He is always offering solutions and alternatives to heal our horses. We really appreciate all the effort he does to come to our facility knowing he stays pretty busy in his clinic. Additionally the prices are affordable and he doesn’t make you spent more money unless you have to. December 04 · Margarita Farinango
- The level of unprofessionalism displayed by Crosby Vet Services is astounding. My equines were vaccinated by Dr. Crosby without my knowledge or permission. Less than two weeks after they had previously been administered their routine vaccinations by their longtime veterinarian. Proof of all recent vaccinations were given.Dr. Crosby claimed that I signed off on the vaccinations on a training contract, which is grossly untrue, and I would love to see my signature had I done so.Coincidently, an emergency vet call had to be placed shortly after as one of my equines had fallen ill.... post double vaccinations of a young horse directly following a 1,000 mile + trailer ride.Upon receiving the unapproved bill I contacted the veterinary services directly, as well as the trainer to let them know that I had in no way shape or form authorized this, nor would I be paying for these services—which I believe to have harmed my horse.Dr. Crosby has displayed an immense amount of childish behaviors. Including a letter mailed to our home with accusations of inability to pay.Money is not an issue, Principle is. As a medical practitioner, one must obtain authorization prior to treating a patient. I do not recommend this veterinarian. Thankful that I will never require his services again. July 18 · Shelby Zlotkowski
- The best place to get to the root of issues on your horse. Dr Crosby gives 100% of his time and skills to every horse that comes in and it won't cost you a fortune at the end of it. September 16 · Summer Terry
- After 3 vets Crosby finally helped us get to the real issue with my sons horse and I will be forever thankful May 21 · Britni Thurman
