A satisfied customer noted that "their goal is to provide a stress free appointment for your pet."
- Comprehensive and Advanced Care: The clinic offers a wide range of services, including specialized treatments like acupuncture and laser therapy, which are not available at all veterinary clinics. This demonstrates a commitment to providing modern, comprehensive medical options.

While the hospital is highly praised for its care, it is worth noting a point of concern for some clients regarding their prescription policy. This information is valuable for potential clients to consider when making their choice.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1They refuse to authorize prescriptions for any online pet supply stores. You will have to get a paper prescription and jump through the hoops yourself, or buy it from them at a mark-up. They were unable to give a logical reason for this policy but I think it's pretty clear. I have been a dog owner for 15 years and have never encountered this before. If I'd known this in advance I would have chosen another vet, because it suggests that they put profits above patients. So I'm letting people know this way so others can make an informed decision.
June 19 · Sarah A.I’ve been taking my two corgis to Ghent Vet for several years and they are fantastic. They are Fear Free certified which means their goal is to provide a stress free appointment for your pet. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. Ghent Vet is the best vet clinic in the Hampton Roads area.
December 18 · Leah ThompsonWe’ve brought 3 of our dogs here so far and I am super impressed with the staff and level of care! As a vet tech myself I can be a bit particular about my furry kids care, but Ghent Vet is amazing every time and my dogs enjoy going! That speaks huge to me! Thank you all for the hard work you do for us pet owners.
July 29 · Louise YoumansWe've been clients of Dr Marshall since 2008 and moved with her when she opened her own practice.Ghent Vet is on a completely different level from any veterinary office I've ever been to. While Dr Marshal is a fabulous vet, it's really the little things that make this such a pleasant visit.- The waiting room is light and airy and spotlessly clean.- Check in is never late, which is a big deal for me.- Alex always opens the door for me as I arrive and leave.- The dogs are not left waiting in the waiting room, as they take you back immediately upon arrival. I appreciate that because it reduces the stress on my dogs who don't like being around other dogs.- They write a welcome note on the door of the examination room. As I said, it's the little touches.- You are offered a drink each time you visit. This is much appreciated on very hot, or cold, days.- All the metal exam tables have a soft, non-slip rug on them. This is a little thing that helps reduce the stress on the doggos.- The techs are incredibly helpful and gentle. Camille is especially wonderful.Dr Marshall always takes her time to ensure I understand why she is recommending the treatments she does and does not hesitate to refer out if she feels the need. My old dog, Leroy, has a cracked canine that Dr Marshall did not feel comfortable removing, so she sent me to a canine dentist. Unfortunately, dentist too thinks she will break his mandible if she attempts to remove the tooth.I truly appreciate that she decided to refer me out, rather than breaking Leroy's mandibleI was very happy to hear that they now also have a vet who treats rats, so now we have a one-stop shop for all our pets.
September 08 · Sherene SilverbergBest Vet in the 757! We have been taking our dog there for about 3 years now. They are a 'fear free' vet so they let us schedule a play date where we just showed up and they gave our dog treats. He now associates the vet with treats, which makes it a lot easier to take him in for his shots or check ups! Great staff and great location to serve the greater downtown area!
