- MicrochippingA microchip is a tiny device which contains unique identifying information about a pet. This number corresponds with the contact information of the pet’s owner.

- PENN HipCanine hip and elbow dysplasia are the most common hereditary orthopedic problems seen in dogs. With PennHIP radiographing, we can identify such things as a loose hip in puppies which often leads to the development of hip arthritis in later years of life.
- Pet BoardingWe’re happy to provide a calm, safe, and secure home away from home for your pet. When you have to leave town, trust that the Heritage Animal Hospital team is here to provide a comfortable space for your pet. Plus, veterinary supervision while you’re gone means they’re in good hands.

- Pet Pain ManagmentOur goal is to create a plan to eliminate as much pain from your pet’s life as possible so that they can enjoy a better quality of life. Chronic pain can be managed with laser therapy or animal chiropractic work. We’re prepared and skilled to help your pet feel better!
- Pet Parasite PreventionDiseases like heartworm, Lyme disease, and ringworm can cause serious damage to your pet’s health, even death. It’s important to start your pet on a proper vaccination schedule early in life. It’s also important to remember that cats and dogs have different vaccination needs.
- Pet VaccinationsOur team will assess your pet’s lifestyle to determine risk factors when putting together a vaccination schedule and program for your pet. It’s important to make sure that your pet sticks to their vaccination schedule.
- Preventive Care
- Puppy and Kitten CareDuring your pet’s first visit with us, we’ll do a full examination, parasite screening, and get them set up on a good vaccination and nutrition plan to ensure they get off on a great start. Your pet’s vaccination schedule is crucial in protecting their young, fragile systems from common diseases.
- Senior Pet CareAt seven years old, dogs and cats are considered seniors. As our pets age, their needs change, and we’ll be there every step of the way. With an increased chance of health issues, we recommend that senior pets come see us twice a year for an examination and regularly scheduled dental cleanings.
- Veterinary Chiropractic CareVeterinary chiropractic care involves spinal manipulation and is frequently performed on horses, dogs, and cats. In most cases, this treatment is offered to pets that have neurologic or biomechanical conditions.
- Veterinary DentistryYour pet’s oral health is tied to their overall health. Dental infections can spread through the bloodstream to affect major organs such as your pet’s liver, kidneys, and heart. During each visit, we’ll be sure to assess your pet’s overall health, including an instruction of at-home dental care.
- Veterinary Digital X-RaysUsing technology, we’re able to see your pet in a whole new way! Digital X-rays are routinely used to diagnose and examine broken bones, obstructions, arthritis, masses, and tumors. We also use digital X-rays to confirm pregnancies or detect ingested objects.
- Veterinary Laser TherapyLaser Therapy is an FDA-cleared modality that reduces inflammation, and that results in pain reduction. Laser Therapy is effective in treating acute pain, chronic conditions, and postoperative pain. Laser therapy treatment is safe, painless and fast.
- Veterinary Nutritional CounselingIt’s important to make sure that they’re started on the right diet early in life. Allow our team to work with you to find the best diet plan and eating regimen for your pet’s lifestyle. If your pet has an illness or disorder, a special diet may need to be crafted for them.
- Veterinary Services
- Veterinary SurgeryWe provide a clean surgical center, and our team is equipped to perform surgeries such as spay and neuters, soft tissue, and mass removals. Our surgical team will conduct a pre-anesthesia blood screening to make sure that your pet is healthy enough for the operations.
- Veterinary UltrasoundUltrasound can be used for a variety of purposes including examination of the animal’s heart, kidneys, liver, gallbladder, bladder, etc. It can also be used to determine pregnancy and to monitor an ongoing pregnancy. Ultrasound can detect fluid, cysts, tumors or abscesses.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1- Great communication and advice via phone before our jenny gave birth, then Dr Hampton made a house visit the day after birth to check on everyone and give a few vaccines. Wonderful service! July 09 · Tara Ward
- Absolutely hands down recommend this place. We have a (now) much better trained goldendoodle. We had to send him off to training school for a few weeks for his dominance issues. Even knowing how he is and how he can be, they have never allowed any of those issues to keep them from seeing Rio while sick or needing his yearly visits. Rio is a complete different dog after training and loves to visit them-even with an ear infection! The staff and physicians here are amazing!! They care for these animals deeply like they were their own. We've had to call numerous times for appointments and they always get us right in if needed. We've also had to call the emergency line a couple of times and they return calls right away. We drive close to an hour to see them, that alone speaks for itself.Thank you for all you guys do!!! ❤️🐶 June 23 · Heather Roof
- We found Heritage when searching for a veterinary chiropractor. The veterinary chiropractor we had been driving almost 2 hours to canceled on us the morning of our appt and couldn't reschedule for months. I called Heritage in a panick bc my rottweiler really needed an adjustment and they got us in the same day! Dr Hampton is awesome! We've since seen Dr Wells Johnson and Dr Gayheart and they're both awesome too! I like that they balance a holistic approach with traditional medicine when needed. They always fit you in and never rush you out the door. The building is always clean and the office staff is always friendly. We drive from Leitchfield to see them. This clinic and staff has really provided quality care for my pets since I found them. I was beginning to think I would never find even a decent vet clinic after moving from Cincinnati. July 31 · E M
- We have been clients of Heritage Animal Hospital for over 3 years now. We were so impressed that Dr. Hampton would make a barn visit for our three horses when we first moved to the area. We are so grateful for the good advice, kindness, and consistent compassion shared with us and our beloved animals. The team has been with us through sad times and happy times and we have always been treated with such consideration by each employee. Thank you for supporting our family --the human AND the animal members. March 06 · Jen Calder
- They are the BEST! I've been bringing my babies here for DECADES. I cannot say enough about how they've always been there for me and my kids....I wouldn't trust anyone else with my kids. The staff is always friendly and they are always accommodating with our needs. Very knowledgeable and thorough in examinations. They've always answered all my questions ( and I always have a ton ). Highly recommend! February 06 · Beth Erin
