Highland Hills Pet Hospital Reviews
Excellent vetrinary care, competent staff!I came in 3 years ago with an elderly cat who I got from the Humane Society that was incredibly sick and nearly dead. My vet did an incredible job at troubleshooting all the problems this poor thing had after being thrown out on the street. She was emaciated, she had grooming issues and they did the best they could. She was labeled as 2-3yo when we picked her up, vet guessed maybe around 8 or 9. It was real hard work to figure out her medical issues and get her stable and we did the best we could together. I had her euthanized yesterday at this location. It was just her time. I'm looking at how sever her medical symptoms were and what just happened and I am thinking this cat was probably around 15 or something. Her body wasn't agreeing well with the medication, we did the best we could. She had a sudden episode that resulted in systematic collapse and she was ready to go. I'm sad that I lost my friend but she's not suffering anymore. I really appreciate that I got honest advice from my vet in dealing with this and that the staff here have been so kind and empathetic over the past few years. My family will continue to use this vet so long as I am living in Northern Colorado. It's hard to find people you can trust and I am incredibly grateful I found such wonderful people to handle my vetrinary care. The other vet I tried when we first started her care was trying real hard to milk us for money and dancing around on diagnosing my cat's hyperthyroid but these guys got on it right away due to her symptomology. I will be forever greatful for everything this team has done to care for this sweet little baby in the little time she had left on this earth and give this sweet loving kitty a second chance and an opportunity to be loved and safe in a comfortable home after the hell she went through being thrown out on the streets.R.I.P. Hayate- thank you for being such a sweet loving kitty and such a wonderful blessing in my life
June 13 · Fushu MangBeen bringing my cats here for about five years now. They're great with my fur babies! I have a cat that is allergic to Everything, and they've helped me change up her food as needed to keep yeast infections out of her years and to a minimum. Both doctors are great.
July 04 · Jennifer R.8 year clients and I was very disappointed the way I was treated today by the receptionist (I think her name is Whitney). I called to see if I could get a stool sample tested for our dog who has had diarrhea the past few days. His appetite is good and other than the runny stool he is fine. The receptionist insisted that we need to bring him in for an appointment. I thought that it would make sense to bring in the sample today so they would have the results for the appointment. This did not make sense to her. After explaining to her why this would save us time vs waiting till Monday, she said she had to ask the Dr. She came back and said that was ok to bring it in. I brought the sample by. There was a different receptionist that took the sample. I started to leave and she asked for a $60 payment. I did not have my wallet with me so I thought it would make sense to just pay with the bill Monday. She told me to call back with my credit card number. I told her that I would just pay it Monday. I did ask if there was a problem with our history (which there wasn't since we always pay in full after the appointment which is probably over $1000 this year). Well, next I get a snappy voice mail to call back and that they need payment or the sample will not be tested. I called back and told the snippy receptionist that we will no longer be going there and that we will find another Veterinary. We might as well go to Pet Smart. What happened to client appreciation. I guess when a business gets so big and so busy a longtime customer no longer matters. We may not be the biggest client, but $1000 a year over 8 years does sound like allot.
February 18 · M TI want to start this review with positive feedback regarding the actual vets themselves. I've had positive interactions and have been happy with the quality of the services. The negative and disappointing part of my review is due to their skyrocketing prices. I already have needed to see another vet for litters of puppies. I used to take them here but they kept raising the price for vaccinations and dewormer for our large litters. However, because Highland Hills is conveniently near our house, I figured I'd take my parent dogs to them for some booster shots and heart worm meds. I knew they cost more but I did not anticipate their prices being as high as they quoted me for. We also have a new puppy joining our family that needed her rabies shot. The quote Highland Hills sent me was approximately $1000 for two adult dogs and one puppy to get two booster shots each (adult dogs), heartworm meds, and the last round of vaccinations and rabies for the puppy. I called Pickaroon Animal Hospital in Windsor where I take my litters of puppies and they quoted me $327 for all three dogs. That's a third of the cost compared to Highland Hills. Their health evaluation fee is much cheaper and their vaccinations are less than half of what Highland Hills is charging.I truly hope that this clinic will take into consideration what other clinics charge and reevaluate their pricing. It's plain and simple price gouging. I'd love to go back to them in the future, but there are much cheaper options available from other quality veterinarians. Highland Hills receptionists are also regularly difficult to communicate with. I always feel like an inconvenience and they are reluctant to provide any info regarding simple questions without an appointment. There's one lady in particular that's easily annoyed and has always been unfriendly.
August 04 · EmilyWonderful people! Took fantastic care of our little guy. Reasonable price as well. Highly recommend
