Veterinary care ★4.0

Dr. Rizzo and staff are simply amazing.I was first referred in March/April of 2023 after finding a thyroid mass on my guy Danny. The consult occurred within a matter of days with the oncology team coordinating surgery within a week. We have done follow up surveillance since and unfortunately discovered several other masses but, throughout all of this Dr. Rizzo and team have been incredibly supportive, they have been kind and their communication has been simply outstanding. Care is not dictated, rather she ensures you have the information needed to make an informed decision and discusses risks of therapy, benefits of therapy and is supportive of your approach.Having work in human medicine for close to 20 years I aspire to have the same bedside manner, communication skills and compassion that these folks do. I can not recommend them enough.Thank you Hope Oncology for all that you do! - Mike Carter

What is worth choosing

For Washington pet owners, what makes Hope Veterinary Oncology Services a truly exceptional choice is the unique blend of clinical expertise and profound compassion. Dr. Rizzo and her team are described by clients as "simply amazing," with a level of empathy that is hard to find. One client, who is a professional in human medicine, was so impressed with the clinic's "bedside manner, communication skills and compassion" that they aspire to the same level in their own work. This is a powerful testament to the clinic’s holistic approach to care, which recognizes the emotional toll a cancer diagnosis takes on a family. The clinic's ability to get a patient in quickly for a consult and coordinate surgery within a week shows a sense of urgency and efficiency that is deeply appreciated during a time of crisis.

Another client shared an equally touching story, noting that as they got teary-eyed, "so did she," referring to Dr. Rizzo. This shared humanity and compassion are invaluable. The client felt confident that they had the "right people" to give their dog the "best shot at beating it" and "cannot recommend her enough." This profound trust and personal connection are what set Hope Veterinary Oncology Services apart. They don't just treat the disease; they treat the whole patient and support the entire family unit. The clinic's dedication to providing comprehensive information and empowering pet owners to make informed decisions, rather than dictating a course of action, fosters a strong partnership in care.

The features of the clinic, such as being a cage-free environment, working with a social worker for emotional support, and providing timely communication, all contribute to a superior client experience. They even offer remote consultations, expanding their reach and making their expertise available to more people.
