For Washington pet owners, what makes Hope Veterinary Oncology Services a truly exceptional choice is the unique blend of clinical expertise and profound compassion. Dr. Rizzo and her team are described by clients as "simply amazing," with a level of empathy that is hard to find. One client, who is a professional in human medicine, was so impressed with the clinic's "bedside manner, communication skills and compassion" that they aspire to the same level in their own work. This is a powerful testament to the clinic’s holistic approach to care, which recognizes the emotional toll a cancer diagnosis takes on a family. The clinic's ability to get a patient in quickly for a consult and coordinate surgery within a week shows a sense of urgency and efficiency that is deeply appreciated during a time of crisis.
Another client shared an equally touching story, noting that as they got teary-eyed, "so did she," referring to Dr. Rizzo. This shared humanity and compassion are invaluable. The client felt confident that they had the "right people" to give their dog the "best shot at beating it" and "cannot recommend her enough." This profound trust and personal connection are what set Hope Veterinary Oncology Services apart. They don't just treat the disease; they treat the whole patient and support the entire family unit. ★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Dr. Rizzo and staff are simply amazing.I was first referred in March/April of 2023 after finding a thyroid mass on my guy Danny. The consult occurred within a matter of days with the oncology team coordinating surgery within a week. We have done follow up surveillance since and unfortunately discovered several other masses but, throughout all of this Dr. Rizzo and team have been incredibly supportive, they have been kind and their communication has been simply outstanding. Care is not dictated, rather she ensures you have the information needed to make an informed decision and discusses risks of therapy, benefits of therapy and is supportive of your approach.Having work in human medicine for close to 20 years I aspire to have the same bedside manner, communication skills and compassion that these folks do. I can not recommend them enough.Thank you Hope Oncology for all that you do!
October 16 · Mike CarterDr. Rizzo got me in very quickly and was both professional and compassionate. As I got teary-eyed, so did she. You don’t find that a lot anymore- it seems like compassion isn’t as abundant as maybe it should sometimes be. We will continue to work with her as my girl (Piper) navigates her cancer diagnosis (soft tissue sarcoma) but I have the right people, giving her the best shot at beating it. I cannot recommend her enough. She is a very pleasant human being who will give you her all. I’m so glad I picked her. Please follow my lead and give your pet their best chance.
December 08 · Michelle MinorDr. Wyatt's exceptional care was a true lifeline for Frankie. Faced with an inner ear infection and severe allergic reactions, Dr. Wyatt not only diagnosed the issues promptly but also executed a well-thought-out treatment plan, including a timely operation. The results were transformative—Frankie emerged from the procedure rejuvenated. His once-irritated skin is now irresistibly soft, and troublesome symptoms like head tilting, paw licking, and itching have completely vanished. Beyond her medical prowess, Dr. Wyatt's compassionate demeanor made the entire experience reassuring. The speed of her intervention, coupled with her evident dedication, left me profoundly satisfied. I wholeheartedly endorse Dr. Wyatt to any pet owner seeking not just a specialist dermatologist but a true partner in their pet's well-being.
November 24 · Terry VincentDr. Rizzo was very kind to us through this very hard time. Though I trusted she would do all she could for our pup, we made the hardest choice to go ahead and put her down since she had a fast growing nasal tumor. We didn’t want her to suffer more than she needed to, but felt equipped to make our decisions with the knowledge and empathy shared by Dr. Rizzo.
February 10 · Barrotts TinyHuge shoutout to Dr. Rizzo, Dr. Sullivan, and the whole Hope Oncology team! When we brought our baby girl Bobby in she was six and a half pounds of skin and bones and was coming off a two week hospitalization. This was more of a hail mary and we didn't have a lot of hope going into things. Fast forward six months and our baby girl is over 14 pounds and graduated from chemo today! The hope team has been amazing throughout the entire process. Communication has always been top notch and their care has been incredible. Thank you so much for the extra time you've given us with our lovely girl.
