Hopkins Pet Hospital Reviews
Hopkins Pet Hospital has been exceeding my expectations for over 10 years. They have cared for one of my cats and two dogs. Very caring staff who work in all areas. I’ve also had my dog stay for boarding. She is a very anxious small dog who requires extra care and some medication. The boarding care team are excellent
Jul 03, 2025 · Angela FoxI have used three different veterinary clinics and so far I’ve had the best experience with Hopkins pet Hospital! They have always been very kind, courteous and understanding when it comes to my dog. She is a wonderful companion, but can certainly be a handful when going to the vet however, the staff have always been very patient and understanding with her. I always feel at ease when leaving my animals in the care of the staff!
Dec 30, 2024 · Devon DunfordI am extremely disappointed with the service at Hopkins Pet Hospital. While I believe they care for animals, the lack of transparency, communication, and poor practices have led me to make this review.• 2/18/25: I brought my cat in for a broken toe. A splint was applied, and I was given pain medication to administer.• 3/7/25: Gwen informed me the splint caused irritation/swelling from trapped moisture and likely too tight of a splint. The area would need to be shaved and soaked. I was told they'd call when ready for pickup.• During pickup, I never spoke to the vet. Gwen mentioned an antibiotic shot and a loose wrap was done, but no pain meds were given. My cat was in distress.• 3/10/25: Expecting to meet with the vet, my cat was taken to the back for 7 hours. When I arrived for pick up, I voiced concerns about the lack of communication and my cat's pain. Gwen dismissed my concerns, explaining the outcome was unpredictable and that his foot was improving. That night, my cat was in extreme distress, and I discovered open sores and bleeding under the bandage. This was never communicated to me.• 3/11/25: I received a second opinion, where I was told that splinting wasn't typical for this injury and could delay healing. I was given pain meds and a cone.I emailed Hopkins on 3/16 requesting a refund of (~$200) the follow-up visits due to the mismanagement and lack of communication. I specifically requested a written response.Gwen called on 3/17, but did not address my concerns, only mentioning an incorrect detail from my email. She called again on 3/18, saying she would email me, but focused on the same irrelevant detail and that a email would take her sometime to write. I responded, asking to speak with management, and have yet to receive any further communication. The splint should never have been used....reguardless of that fact, the lack of communication and transparency caused unnecessary pain, costs, and prolonged recovery for my pet. Their handling of this situation was unprofessional, and I will not be returning. I would not recommend this vet to my friends/family.**Update 4/23** I finally received written communication from Gwen. She attempted to reach me via cell x4. I have not heard from the vet or any of the management. We played "he said she said" on the phone, it was not productive.A refund was offered, but not pursued. I would still not recommend this vet to friends or family. There are other clinics in the area that offer more comprehensive care, have better access to resources, more consistent customer service, and a more professional overall experience.
Apr 24, 2025 · JordanHopkins Pet Hospital has always been so helpful in addressing our pet concerns! We cannot thank them enough for being flexible with emergency drop offs, giving us supportive info on caring for an older kitty, and being so kind when we had to put our sweet Zelda to sleep. Their staff is so knowledgable and they really do love animals!! Our dog actually enjoys visiting 😂
Dec 13, 2023 · Elizabeth HurstI had a very bad experience at my old vet clinic so I was in search for a new clinic for my new Fur Baby. I found Hopkins Vet through a close friend. I had a lot of Anxiety the day I had the appointment but all the staff made me feel very comfortable and Dr Larson was very Knowledgeable. I'm glad that I had chosen to take my 7th month old puppy there!
