★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1TL;DR: Overpriced, lack of transparency, inefficient, not customer orientedThis vet was not a good fit for my dog's needs. After years of caring for my dog and trying multiple combinations of medication to ease his time at the vet, I have come to learn that he requires sedation for visits where he will need to be handled. I told them this, and they suggested I medicate my dog instead, before taking that route. Didn't work (as I suspected), which I found to be an inefficient use of time. I was surprised to find that the $155 they charge for sedation is ONLY for the procedure and monitoring, and does NOT include the injection itself. They provide a range of an additional $150-$300 for the actual injection. This is not the first time I have received wide ranges as such from them. This makes it hard to account for the actual price I should expect for my dog's visit, and I didn't find this type of price breakdown to be transparent or clear. I am aware that full sedation with reversal can range upwards $600, so while this is not necessarily unusual pricing, I did find several other local vets with significantly cheaper pricing. So, if your pet requires this type of care for their visits, I assure you there are highly appraised clinics with more reasonable pricing.Another gripe I have with this vet clinic is the impression I received of their priorities. The staff is friendly and the facility is nice, but I did not feel that customer satisfaction was of high interest. My most recent visit was to inquire about my dog's allergies. I posed an additional concern about his weight (nothing too serious), and they suggested we test his thyroid. They asked a multitude of other questions just to see if I was interested in adding on other services and treatments (i.e., flea and tick) while I was there. This was all pretty casual, and I agreed. Unfortunately, we were unable to inject my dog with the allergy shot we discussed, so I left with no tangible results. I was disappointed to find out that I was still expected to pay the $90 exam fee, despite nothing getting done that visit. I understand this is standard practice, and I do agree it is certainly fair to compensate the staff for their time. However, I believe there are more reasonable ways to go about this, such as crediting this fee towards his next service, or not charging the full amount. This did not meet the standard of integrity I expect when entrusting (and paying) a team of people to care diligently for my pet, and to mutually respect my time. Not only that, but I initially went in for ONE concern (his allergies - his current meds are not working this time), and I received an invoice for around $800-$1000 dollars, including all the extra services they tried to tack on. This caught me off-guard, and further left me feeling that their priority was not my satisfaction and dog's health; rather, the profit they can make with each visit.I have since found my dog a new vet, and have called several places asking specifically about their protocol for such situations. I found that there are actually many clinics that either do not charge you for the exam fee if nothing was actually done, or they do credit the fees towards your next service. So while what I described above may be the standard of care for Martha Lake, if you are looking for a more customer-oriented clinic, I would recommend taking your business elsewhere -- especially for pet's with complex needs.
August 11 · Yomna AnanI have never had a negative experience here. Everyone is kind, attentive, and understanding. The prices are very reasonable compared to other places I've been, and they don't push extra services on you. The option for Saturday appointments have been a life saver. I always highly recommend this place to everyone. Even with moving over half an hour away, they are worth the trip ♡
July 27 · Jordan MurrayDr. Wendy was excellent with my cat. So was the assistant. My cat tends to be very timid and she likes this vet. Receptionists are very helpful and understanding as well.
August 06 · kim jacobsenI’ve always been really happy to take my pets here. Front desk, techs, and techs are great. But this time my dog scratched her cornea on some blackberries. Locating the actual injury took extra time, beyond a normal appointment. Dr Logan and our vet tech were exceedingly kind and gentle with her. It was an experience I’ll never forget, that’s how great they were at their jobs. Thank you so very much for taking great care of our pup!
July 14 · Rebecca ViMy dog had a pretty traumatic experience with previous Vet clinics, here, they make sure they're comfortable before proceeding with anything. Not only that, they gave me a lot of information on what is happening with my animal and many different treatments and care instructions for specific issues.I'm super happy with this place. Definitely bring your dog here if you love them.
