Middletown Veterinary Clinic Reviews
This is a fantastic vet clinic. We have been taking our Italian Greyhound puppy here since the very first week that we got him home with us. Everyone here is extremely knowledgeable, friendly, welcoming and most importantly, gentle with your pets. From routine check ins, weigh ins, and even the neutering surgery for our little dude, this clinic has been a wonderful place for us to keep peace of mind that our dog has been taken care of to the best of their ability.
Jun 09, 2025 · Andrew WolfHighly recommend Middletown Veterinary. The staff is amazing and honestly I adore all of them. They are compassionate, caring, and patient. I have a very challenging older calico, personality wise, that I wouldn’t take anywhere else but to see Dr. Owen. He is absolutely wonderful with her and always gets us taken care of with her allergies which can be a constant problem. He takes his time and answers any questions. My other cat makes herself at home there as well as my dog. Recently my dog was very sick but we got right in to see Dr. Owen and in two days she was back to normal with her belly issues. So if you looking for a veterinarian practice that cares about you and your animals Middletown Veterinary Clinic is where you need to visit. They again are all wonderful, especially Shelby for putting up with my constant phone calls and questions!!
May 04, 2024 · beth divelI really wanted to say I’ve only had one experience with this vet, but I’m so so glad they were the ones who helped us. We very unexpectedly lost one of our cats of 14 years a week ago. I called this vet in hysterics right after I found him because we didn’t know what to do and they’re basically in our backyard. The women on the phone and in the office were simply amazing. Myself, my son, and husband were beside ourselves and basically nonstop bawling because we had just found our cat not even 10 minutes before we stepped into their office. They gave us a room and all the time we needed to say our goodbyes. The compassion we were shown at the time was so very needed by the three of us, so thank you. The process even though not expected was smooth. Less than a week after he passed we received his paw print in a very nice box with a picture frame on top and his ashes were in a wooden box that was engraved with his name and a picture frame as well. So. All in all thank you we sincerely appreciated it and want to pass our thanks you to the ladies working on 9/04 right before close it really meant a whole lot to us, thank you. ❤️

Feb 05, 2025 · Tanya PrescottI’ve been hesitant to make this review, but after reaching out for my pet’s vet records & having my request ignored, I feel it is imperative to post this. After my vet trip with my gecko Mondo on May 1st, I am feeling remorseful about my decision to unfortunately have Mondo euthanized during my trip. Im seeking clarity as to what happened during the time that Mondo was taken back to be examined without me.I was concerned that he was dying upon arrival as we just had a very long car ride to the vets office from WV. Mondo was overheated & stressed, I feel that these were key factors that were overlooked, which may have resulted in missteps to addressing his treatment.I wasn’t able to make it clear that the condition Mondo arrived in was not present before my visit, & I think the fact that this was unaddressed led Dr. Owen to unfairly recommend euthanasia without any other options.upon meeting me, Dr Owen did not seem interested in any concerns I had. The first thing he said to me was “I’m sorry we have to meet under these circumstances.” Without even providing a clear diagnosis on Mondo, not doing a physical exam, not wearing gloves when he entered the room. He did not offer subcutaneous fluid administration which Mondo needed due to his dehydration from the long car ride, no questions asked about his husbandry & diet. No one offered to do a fecal sample. No medications were recommended, but I would have happily paid for further treatment.Cryptosporidium, which Mondo had, is treatable with a 50% recovery rate. I have been doing reptile rehab for 3 years & I felt extremely unheard when I tried expressing this to Dr. Owen, who pressed me that this was the “right thing to do,” all while barely letting me get 2 words in or even offering a clear diagnosis of the issue. He did not confirm cryptosporidium, he made the decision to euthanize before I even had a chance to grasp what was happening.I believe that Mondo may have been mishandled when they took him to the back, as his arm was twisted strangely in a way I had never seen before when they gave him back to me. His back was also crooked and I had never seen him lay like this. This sadly influenced my decision to euthanize as I assumed more damage had been done to Mondo during his time in the back. Before coming to the vet, Mondo was still eating, I was syringe feeding him with Critical Care & adding colostrum to his diet which can subdue the parasite count. He was finally passing more normal fecals at this point & I came in hopeful to help him. I ended up leaving with my pet’s remains, without a chance to say a proper goodbye, as Dr. Owen rushed me to hand him over, a decision I regret deeply. He also misgendered Mondo several times, which further makes me believe he did not do an exam, as he did not even get Mondo’s biological sex correct when referencing him.I believe Mondo suffered during his experience, which was not what I wanted at all. Mondo was not a burden and his care was not something I regret seeking. I feel like he was treated as disposable, which left me remorseful about this interaction. The vet techs & front desk staff were very kind, but I doubt Dr. Owen’s expertise in reptile treatment as he told me he has only been seeing reptiles for a few months.I spent maybe 2 minutes with him total, the other 60 minutes I was waiting to get Mondo’s remains back. His heart took almost an hour to give out, which breaks my heart, seeing as he was a fighter. I don’t have closure and wonder what else could have been done.Edit: Mike, your response is callous and filled with lies. You didn’t offer extra treatment, nor diagnostics. You didn’t mention his low heart rate or anything that was done out of my sight during my visit. You still did not provide medical files for this patient. And your desk staff did the scheduling, to my knowledge. Also, Mondo was a rescue that I was given in this condition. His illness was not my doing, as I already stated. Rest assured my other pets are fine. Don’t act like you were doing us a favor and being merciful while carrying this tone.
