This suggests potential areas for improvement in catering to the unique needs of different animal species.
- Communication During Procedures: The review mentions difficulty in being present with the pet or receiving real-time updates during a stressful situation, which could be a critical point for owners who prefer more direct involvement or transparency during their pet's care.
- Post-Operative Care and Diagnosis: Serious concerns were raised about the post-operative care and the initial diagnosis, leading to a much later, more severe diagnosis by another hospital. This highlights the importance of thorough diagnostic processes and follow-up care for complex cases.

Dec 03, 2024 · Chass PeppersA few years ago, I had just moved to the South Bay and was looking for a vet for my cat, who had suddenly lost a lot of weight. I found Dr. Reed through Yelp's review filter and decided to give his clinic a try since the reviews looked pretty good at the time.He did a quick check and said her teeth needed to be extracted. I trusted his opinion and went ahead with the surgery, thinking they'd take good care of her. But before the surgery even started, I was already getting worried. They put my cat in a cage next to loud barking dogs, and I could hear her crying for almost 20 minutes. I asked if I could be with her or at least see what was happening, but the doctor wouldn't let me in and just told me it was "normal" and that he understood how pet owners react. Then things got worse. During the surgery, they broke her jaw. She was bleeding for days afterward. I messaged the clinic multiple times and each time they told me it wasn't unusual. My cat stopped eating and drinking, and I consulted a lot of friends including our previous vet in another city far away to get a animal hospital (a really great one in Redwood City). At the hospital, a much more experienced and compassionate vet finally diagnosed my cat with FIP, which was already in the late stage. the vet told me this should've been diagnosed much earlier. If it had been, my cat might have had a chance. But it was too late, and after about two weeks, my cat passed away.I had long conversation with the hospital's doctors to understand why my cat could get FIP, because she was over 8 years old at the time, and it's actually rare for senior cats to get FIP. From what I've learned, either from other vets or my own studying online, the only likely causes are either extreme stress or being exposed to another infected cat while their immune system is weak. That's why I believe it's very possible she contracted FIP at this clinic--either from the stress she went through or from being around other sick animals. All these years later, losing her like that still breaks my heart. It's been hard to even think about it, let alone face it. But today, my phone brought up a memory from that awful day--and I realized I couldn't stay silent anymore. If you have a cat, please be extra cautious. Based on my experience, I really don't think this clinic is cat-friendly. It felt like they only care about dogs, and I still don't know what exactly happened behind that door when my cat was screaming. I regret ever taking her there.

Aug 15, 2024 · Darlene PachecoMy dog Abby has been a patient of Reed Animal Hospital for the last 5 months. I have been very happy with the quality of care Abby has received from both the doctors and supporting staff. Abby is a patient of both Dr Reed and Dr Eberle. Abby had a serious high blood pressure problem that required urgent and diligent attention. Her blood pressure is now under control. Both Dr Reed and Dr Eberle seem very skilled, knowledgeable, compassionate and accommodating. I have an underlying condition and my doctor said that I need to be extremely careful regarding exposure to covid. The staff at Reed Animal Hospital have always been happy to accommodate my condition with masking whenever near me or my dog. I feel blessed to be a client of Reed Animal Hospital.
