I used this hospital for an emergency as they were the only place open within 50 minutes of my house. The initial vet tech was unpleasant and not very compassionate. She tried to shame me for asking questions and pushing back over a $3900-$4900 quote for a catheter and 2 day stay. She also wrote the incorrect dosage of a medication on my take home instructions. Luckily the pills were already split in the bottle so I noticed something was off and called them back before I overdosed my cat. This vet will try to push outrageous prices on you. I asked them to treat the emergency only and then allow my regular vet to take over. The tech who brought my cat out was very kind and made me feel better and explained things well.Bottom line- This place has insane pricing and knows they are the only place open. Only go here as a last resort for a serious medical emergency. - Rachel Wright

Features / Highlights

  • Compassionate Staff (in some instances): While experiences can vary, some staff members, such as a specific "tech who brought my cat out," are praised for being "very kind and made me feel better and explained things well," demonstrating genuine empathy.
  • Supportive During Difficult Times: For serious situations like end-of-life care, clients have noted that the staff, including on subsequent visits, was "all super supportive and helpful." This compassionate approach during highly emotional moments is a significant highlight.
  • Experienced Veterinarian in Emergency Care: Dr. Carrie Russell's extensive experience (over 17 years) primarily in emergency medicine underscores her expertise in handling critical situations, which is invaluable.

However, it's also important to acknowledge reported concerns:

  • Pricing: Some clients have found the pricing to be "insane" or "outrageous," particularly for emergency services, leading to a perception that the clinic "knows they are the only place open."
  • Initial Staff Compassion/Communication (in some instances): One review describes an "unpleasant and not very compassionate" initial vet tech who "tried to shame me for asking questions and pushing back," and noted an "incorrect dosage of a medication" on instructions. This highlights a need for consistent communication and empathy across all staff interactions, particularly during stressful emergency intake.

These varied experiences underscore that while the clinic provides a critical emergency service and can deliver excellent compassionate care, especially during profound moments, clarity on pricing and consistent staff training in client communication are areas for ongoing focus.
