As a dog owner, we love our animals as if they were our children. Before my latest experience at Crossroads, I had nothing to say but positive things, but in the moment I TRULY NEEDED my trusted vet they were apathetic. I've been taking my beloved dog to them since she was 8 weeks old, always following a strict routine of shots, visits, and checkups. Around 7:30am while my dog was outside, she was bit by a venomous copperhead snake with severe swelling and pain. I called my "trusted" vet and after putting me on hold for 5 minutes I explained the condition in detail. Was put on hold again and then told they're not sure if they could see me today because they were booked (huh?). I clearly explained the urgency and was put on hold for a couple more minutes while the front desk person checked with the doctor, then told my dog could be seen later in the afternoon. Not exactly what you need in an emergency, right? What if this was a HUMAN? I asked then for referrals of other vets and was told "hold on". Put on hold again. Then was greeted with, "There are a few vets around. You can probably google them". Uhhhhhhh what in the.... I called another vet and they immediately told me to come in. At the other vet, the actual doctor was waiting there for me and not an NC State student (as there are a lot of them at Crossroads in my experience) and saw me RIGHT away. Sorry Crossroads Veterinary Hospital, you've lost my business and everyone that I know. My pet is in safer hands now. - John Kilgore
