It's late, it's a weekend, or your regular veterinarian's office is fully booked, and you're left wondering where to turn. For those moments when your pet needs immediate attention for non-life-threatening conditions, but it's not a full-blown emergency requiring a 24/7 emergency hospital, places like UrgentVet in Cary, NC, become an invaluable resource. They bridge the gap between routine vet visits and critical emergency room care, offering prompt and compassionate assistance right when you need it most.

UrgentVet Reviews
Wonderful staff and facility! I'm from out of town and needed to see a vet quickly for our 7 month old pup. Got in quickly, they're super organized and not crazy expensive! I absolutely recommend!!
Mar 22, 2025 · Shelley JaffeOur Ellie woke up this morning after not acting like herself for a couple of days & she was trembling all over. I couldn't get her in with our regular vet as it was on a Saturday. My vet recommended urgent vet in Cary. I made an online appointment & we were greeted as soon as I checked in, we were taken straight back & they took great care of Ellie, they did xrays, & sent us home with meds. I was very pleased with their group, they were all really nice & explained everything well. I hope i don't need an urgent care vet again but if I do, I know where I'll be going! Thank you all!
Mar 01, 2025 · Wendy MitchellMy husband (not a cat person) gave me Taco after our son died last year. At the time I had no idea how much Taco would impact my grief. On Sunday, he was not himself and became sick. The only vet open on weekends around where we live are the emergency vets. There was an extremely long wait time, and I was given options of other places to try. I decided to try another place that was much further away, but I didn't know what else to do. The next place suggested I take him to an Urgent Care. So I drove even further to this location. Being alone and driving all this way with my Taco being sick triggered every emotion from losing my son. When I walked in to Urgent care, Scott could tell right away that I was having a hard time and just needed some help. He immediately took over and started an exam on Taco. He was great at his job but what meant the most was his kindness. He very clearly explained everything to me. Dr. Vasquez was impressive as well. She was empathic and professional the entire time. She made sure I understood the treatment plan for Taco. Taco was in good hands. Even the banter between the team in the back was light and joyful. Very positive atmosphere. The experience was fast and I could not have asked for anything better. After Taco's treatment and a long nap with his water fountain, he is doing much better. Thank you, Scott and Dr. Vasquez.
Jun 24, 2025 · MaryMacRae GardnerThis place was wonderful, especially as a kind of urgent care for animals, which isn’t easy to find! My husband and I took our dog on a Sunday less than 2 weeks ago after he had eaten a stupid amount of leaves that were toxic and blocked up his GI tract. We didn’t know the cause at the time, so didn’t know if he would need an emergency vet hospital, and our regular vet’s office was closed. It was very easy to reserve a time online, and we were able to get a time within an hour of being aware our dog had symptoms. Kristin, the vet tech who greeted us and took an initial medical history, was absolutely lovely and obviously very caring towards animals. The vet herself was great, too; she provided an initial assessment of our dog and her recommended blood work and X-rays were performed on-site immediately. After receiving the results, we were recommended to go to a vet emergency hospital that could provide an emergency endoscopy, and a nearby one was found and a referral made for us within 10 minutes, where we then took our dog to get treated. In total, were there no more than an hour.Overall, I highly recommend this UrgentVet!! We were very scared for our dog, and they immediately saw him and were able to provide the correct recommendations and interventions. While not cheap (no urgent/emergency vet service ever is), their prices are similar to other such places, and they were upfront about them from the start. Going here rather than taking our dog straight to an emergency vet hospital probably cost us some extra money (we weren’t sure if he would need emergency hospital services in the beginning), but not a significant amount, and it would actually have saved us money if he hadn’t needed a vet hospital. Additionally, they were able to make sure we went to the correct vet hospital with the services we needed; if we had gone to one that didn’t from the beginning, it would have cost us a significant amount of more money in the end. So, ultimately, coming here was absolutely a worthwhile decision, and our dog is all better now!!! 😊
