However, it is important for prospective clients to note some conflicting feedback regarding the clinic's policies and consistency, particularly concerning large breed dogs and staffing communication. One review from March 2025 indicated a significant issue where an appointment for a large breed dog was scheduled and then canceled due to a "new employee" not understanding policy, with the clinic subsequently denying care based on the dog's size and perceived nervousness around other dogs. This experience directly contradicted the clinic's stated "Fear Free Community" status and caused considerable distress to the pet owner. This suggests potential inconsistencies in staff training or policy application, especially concerning large breeds or anxious animals, despite the clinic's stated commitment to Fear Free methods and accommodating pets.

I asked her and I made sure specifically to ask her if him being a large breed dog would be an issue and she made sure to tell me no no no they deal with large breed dogs. Everything is OK so we continued on we got all of our info. Got them scheduled..The weekend goes by and today I get a phone call from the establishment telling me that “the lady who you spoke to on Friday had no idea what she was talking about. She is a new employee and we don’t take any cases involving large breed dogs…So as shocked as I was …..as you guys are now I called three other vets just to verify ask around and see if that’s even a thing in the vet said they have never ever heard of somebody denying a large breed dog just because of their size, which I was given no exact reason as to why they can’t other than him being big on their site It says it’s a FEAR FREE COMMUNITY …..HOW? You’re denying my dog due to size and “fear of his size…..”So i don’t know about you but if a vet doesn’t even have employees that know what they are doing or scheduling … how can we trust our animals with you? I wasn’t given the chanceAnd neither was my dog because he was judged even before they met him!!!!!I called back to get the ladies name who cancelled my dogs appointment and I was given horrible attitude! We had some unexpected concerning X-rays and Dr Smith was transparent on the treatment plan and meds. The staff was also transparent about costs when making the estimate. Jan 18, 2025 · Mel BarryWe felt as though we were listened to by both the doctor and the tech. The friendly front desk staff welcomed us. We thought our concerns with our pet were addressed, considered, and looked into further. We were asked detailed questions and thought our pet's records were looked at thoroughly. Our questions were also answered thoroughly. We had a pleasant experience. Our pet also felt secure and safe and we think it was a good experience for her as well. We liked how the doctor spent time with us and did not make us feel rushed.
Mar 03, 2025 · Sara TrioWe recently decided to leave our old veterinary practice and switched over to Sewickley Veterinary Hospital. We are so happy with our decision! Dr. Boyle was amazing, and the two vet techs were as well. Any concern or question I had was addressed immediately and Belle was given a very thorough examination. The standard of care that was givenwas excellent and we left very impressed. It was very obvious that everyone who works here is a true animal lover, and Belle was given so much attention.:)Very much looking forward to our other rescue cat, Storm, coming in for his first checkup! -Autumn Townsend
