Small Door Veterinary in Brookline is a truly exceptional choice for pet owners in Massachusetts. The rave reviews from local clients speak volumes about the quality of care and the profound impact of their compassionate approach.
One pet parent, whose dog Calvin was "extremely nervous at the vet," was so moved by the experience that they wrote their first-ever review. They highlighted how Dr. Waisburd and her team were so patient and gentle that the dog felt a "shift the moment he realized he was in a safe space." The most shocking part of the visit? Calvin was "wagging his tail" and even "didn’t want to go" when it was time to leave, a stark contrast to his past experiences. Another review praised Dr. Beth Waisburd and Nurse Jenn for the "incredibly thorough and attentive" care provided to their cat, Ori. The gentle care during bloodwork was so effective that Ori "wasn’t scared or uncomfortable at all" and was so relaxed afterward that he fell soundly asleep at home. ★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I have never written a review before, but after today’s amazing experience, I absolutely had to!!After 7 years of trying to find the right vet for Calvin, we finally found the perfect clinic—and I only wish I had brought him here sooner. Calvin is extremely nervous at the vet, but Dr. Waisburd and Olivia were so patient, gentle, and sweet with him that the whole visit felt completely different from anything we’ve experienced before. He was definitely anxious when we arrived, but you could see the shift the moment he realized he was in a safe space. It just goes to show how much our pets pick up on energy and attitude! They managed to give him three plus vaccines in under 30 minutes, and he was wagging his tail by the time we left… well, tried to leave. I actually had to carry him out because he didn’t want to go!!! Which obviously, has never happened before, I was so shocked!!!He got so many treats and so much love—worth every penny. I’m so grateful we found this place. I can't thank them enough. If your pet is anxious or you're looking for a truly caring vet team, I can’t recommend this place enough.
April 24 · Mei HashimotoWe recently brought our cat Ori here for a check-up, and we are beyond grateful for the care he received. Dr. Beth Waisburd was incredibly thorough and attentive — she not only identified the key concerns but also explained them in such a clear and reassuring way that everything felt easy to understand. Her detailed recommendations gave us great confidence and peace of mind about Ori’s next steps. The entire team deserves so much appreciation as well. The front desk staff were so kind, welcoming, and understanding — always greeting us with warm smiles and making the whole experience stress-free. Nurse Jenn, who assisted Dr. Waisburd, was wonderfully gentle and patient with Ori, showing both skill and compassion.Even during the bloodwork, Ori wasn’t scared or uncomfortable at all — thanks to their professionalism and gentle care. When we got home, he was so relaxed that he slept soundly (photo attached!).We truly feel that Ori is in the best hands with Dr. Beth Waisburd, Nurse Jenn, and The Small Door Medical Team. Thank you to everyone for your professionalism, kindness, and genuine love for animals — it makes all the difference.
August 19 · Yuqi LiuMy poor little baby was peeing outside of his litter box. Brought him in and he has some crystallization in his urine making him uncomfortable. Docs and staff were amazing and kind and my cat (who is super timid around people) did so well with them. The entire visit was amazing. ❤️
August 10 · Martha MarinI really love Small Door - Brookline. Everything is just wonderful about them. We needed a new vet 3 years ago when we moved here, and they were just opening. They discovered our dog had cancer and did such a wonderful job treating him. We now have a second dog who is a bit mischievous! Having the chat feature has been such a great tool for us. The team that work here is just phenomenal!
August 15 · Mark Campbell-FosterThe team here is incredibly kind! We had just moved to Boston and had not found a vet yet. Our English bulldog got very sick suddenly overnight. I was able to book an appt the next morning. They ushered me into an exam room and Dr Campbell promptly assessed the severity of the situation. She was very transparent with the cost and options for treatment. We had to make the very difficult decision to put our dog down, and the team was so kind! Hannah gave our pup a snickers which she gobbled up. She crossed the rainbow bridge very peacefully. The team then sent a sympathy gift and card with their condolences. I’ve never expected to have such an amazing experience at the most devastating time of our lives. We are eternally grateful for the care we received at Small Door Vet. I highly recommend!
