What is worth choosing
For pet owners in Fort Worth, Texas, South Meadow Animal Clinic is a top-tier choice for several powerful reasons. The most compelling is the clinic's unique combination of advanced medical expertise and a profoundly caring approach. The review about Pierre, a dog who suffered from a severe ear infection for three years and was finally cured after just one visit, is a powerful testament to the skill of Dr. Les Mayes and his team. This story demonstrates that they succeed where "dozens of vets" and "thousands in test and medicine" have failed. Their ability to accurately diagnose and treat a complex, long-standing issue with such expertise is a major reason for any pet owner to choose this clinic.
Furthermore, the clinic's reputation for handling specialized and sensitive procedures, such as ear cropping, with excellent results and compassionate care, is a significant highlight. As noted in a customer review about their Doberman, Draco, the clinic was willing to perform the procedure when "multiple clinics declined" due to the dog's age. The detailed review praising the "awesome" staff and the "amazing job" done by the surgeon speaks volumes about their professionalism and attention to detail. This level of dedication extends to making the "healing process a lot easier" for the pet owner, showing a commitment that goes beyond the procedure itself.
The range of services offered, from routine check-ups and pocket pet care to complex orthopedic surgery and emergency services, makes this clinic a versatile and reliable partner in your pet’s health. The availability of boarding and grooming services further solidifies its position as a one-stop-shop for a variety of pet needs. For Texans seeking a veterinary team that is not only highly skilled and knowledgeable but also deeply empathetic and accommodating—especially with high-anxiety pets—South Meadow Animal Clinic is a highly recommended and trustworthy choice for all your pet's needs.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Extremely skilled and very caring!!! Pierre (blue nose pitbull) had a severe ear infection in both ears for 3 years, we’ve been to dozens of vets and have spent thousands in test and medicine which did nothing to help him. We decided to try South Meadow Animal Clinic and from the moment we walked in we felt so welcomed. The staff was so amazing and accommodating, the amount of patience and professionalism each and every person has is incredible. Pierre was diagnosed and treated that day by Casee and Dr. Les Mayes, their expertise allowed Pierre to walk out a whole new dog with clean, infection free ears! They work very well with defensive high anxiety dogs like Pierre by making them feel comfortable and safe. I highly recommend going to this location.
March 26 · Kyle WeberProps to this clinic! We came in with our almost 4 month old Doberman for ear cropping after multiple clinics declined his ear cropping due to his age. The awesome thing about this clinic was they still took him in for the procedure. The healing process and the results were incredible! They can also make the process a lot easier by posting your pup which was very helpful. All the staff and the surgeon did an amazing job on my puppy Draco, I highly recommend this clinic to anyone who’s looking for ear cropping. The pictures shown are from my dog Draco.before the crop, during the healing process, and the after results.Thank you very much Chief Les Mayes for This amazing Job.
February 02 · Young MottyTook my dog here and had a great experience! The staff was kind, professional, and really cared about my pup. Everything was explained clearly, and they made sure my dog felt comfortable. Definitely recommend South Meadow Animal Clinic!
July 27 · LuisI can’t say enough good things about the Vet’s and staff as a whole. I happen to come across South Meadow Animal Clinic almost 3 years ago because of the work they did with ear cropping. Storm, our Giant Schnauzer had a very bad ear infection due to her crop. Dr. Les Mayes began to work with Storm, her infection, teaching me how to treat and care for her ears and becoming extended family in the process. Her ears made a full recovery and stand erect to this day.Storm has a very distinct personality, simply described by her name. If you know her, you know. About a year ago she wasn’t quite being her self and we took her in to get seen. Upon our arrival it was discovered that her temperature was 106. Dr. Les Mayes and his team sprung into action with life saving measures to get her temperature down. Over the course of about 3 days we were in the office from the time it opened until it closed without an appointment. It was understood that they were trying to save her life and semantics were unnecessary. The working relationship that South Meadow and Fort Worth Animal Hospital came into play. The Vet’s collaborated on finding a solution . Throughout the process they never forgot about us , showed great compassion for us as Storm’s owner and kept us filled in along the way. I have no doubt it is because of South Meadow’s excellent staff that Storm is with us today.
February 09 · Britt'ne JacksonDr Mays and the vet team were a huge support for my mom and her cat Topper. They conducted a home visit to my mom’s assisted living facility and could not have been nicer or more compassionate. We truly appreciate this caring team!!
