Southeastern Veterinary Specialty Center Introduce
For pet owners in Georgia whose companions require advanced medical and surgical intervention, **Southeastern Veterinary Specialty Center** in Columbus stands as a critical resource. This is not a primary care clinic, but a specialized referral center that functions as an **Animal Hospital**, **Specialized Clinic**, and **Surgical Center**, often working hand-in-hand with your family veterinarian to provide expert care for complex conditions. The facility is home to a team of highly skilled veterinary professionals, including board-certified specialists, dedicated to offering the highest quality of care in areas like advanced orthopedics, soft tissue surgery, and internal medicine. The inclusion of a **Veterinary Pharmacy** on-site further streamlines the treatment process, ensuring quick access to necessary medications and prescriptions following complex diagnoses or surgical procedures.
The hospital is particularly well-known across the region for its proficiency in advanced orthopedic procedures, such as **TPLO Surgeries** (Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy) and complex fracture repairs. The experience shared by local clients underscores the deeply reassuring and professional environment here. One pet parent, whose dog required double TPLO surgery, described the staff, from the front desk to the vet techs, as amazing
and noted that their experience was made completely at ease.
This high level of emotional support and expertise is crucial when facing difficult health challenges for a beloved family member.
A significant differentiator of the Southeastern Veterinary Specialty Center is the **personalized and compassionate communication** offered by the specialist team, such as Dr. Wayne. Client reviews frequently highlight personal phone calls from the doctor throughout recovery periods, checking in on the pet and easing the concerns of the owner. The vet techs are also described as absolute gems,
who treat pets like one of their own,
reinforcing the center’s philosophy of providing comprehensive, whole-pet care.
The center's dedication goes beyond routine procedures. One challenging case involved a 15-week-old Frenchie with a shattered elbow following an accident. The surgeon, upon discovering complications mid-surgery, reached out directly to the family to discuss the difficult options, including the likelihood of future amputation. This **transparency and immediate communication**, even during a procedure, demonstrates an ethical and supportive approach, allowing the owners to make an informed decision and ultimately resulting in a happy, healthy tripod dog. ★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1- Finding out that my dog, Juniper, needed double TPLO surgery was devastating, but from the first consultation to our very last appointment, Dr. Wayne and his amazing staff made us feel completely at ease.I can’t say enough about how much I appreciated the personal phone calls from Dr. Wayne throughout Juniper’s recovery. It meant so much to know he genuinely cared and took the time to check in. His front desk staff were just as incredible. They were always kind, thoughtful, and patient as they walked me through concerns, broke down quotes, and helped schedule follow-ups with ease. The vet techs were absolute gems. I loved seeing how excited they were to greet Juniper at each visit. She was clearly loved and cared for like one of their own. Thanks to this wonderful team, Juniper is all healed and back to doing normal dog things again. I am beyond grateful. - My family and I had an unfortunate accident while out of town and our 15 week old frenchie broke her elbow. The vet and staff were super supportive and friendly. The Dr. told me he would advise if there were any complications or concerns during the surgery to repair it. He reached out to me in the middle of surgery explaining some complications and issues. Unfortunately our dogs elbow was shattered and she would develop arthritis rather quickly and more then likely need amputation within a couple of years. He advised with her being so young and full of energy she wouldn’t miss a beat on 3 legs so we proceeded with everything and now have a happy healthy tripod! Would definitely use again! - Our 9 year old sheltie just had his gallbladder removed and Dr. Johnny Arango was the surgeon.Dr. Johnny and staff were awesome! Dr. Johnny was very thorough in explaining the surgery and answered all our questions. Highly recommend Southeastern Veterinary Specialty Center. July 11 · Susan SHELNUTT
- This place is awesome!!! The staff is very courteous and friendly. They took the time to explain everything for the procedure, recovery, what to expect. Answered all of our questions, both when we were there and when the "worried parent" called on the phone. The building is very clean and well maintained. Peanut says thank you very much for fixing her knee, and she highly recommends Southeastern Veterinary Surgery Center!!! November 01 · nicholas emerich
- Doctor Wayne is the best! My furbaby has had 2 successful TPLO surgeries here and is doing great! The expectations and instructions are set out clearly, and the staff is always available to answer any questions you have both pre - and post surgery. The only negative is the wait time to be seen. Sometimes, we are there for over an hour before we get seen, but overall, it is worth it even with the hour and a half drive it takes me to get there. The long wait time is the only reason for 4 stars vs 5. December 23 · Tanya Denk
