UNI Pet Clinic - San Jose Reviews
Would not recommend this clinic, especially for cats. The waiting room is very cramped and there are many other clients with dogs. My cat had urinary issues and needed a urine test, and they recommended a post-surgical opioid (Buprenorphine) to help with pain. First of all, the urine test ended up being 4 times more than what they quoted on the phone. After reading low-rated reviews I see others have had the same issue. And then with the opioid, they failed to mention that possible side effects were extreme restlessness, very odd behavior, and forgetting how to drink water for more than four days. The only side effect they told me was that she might be drowsy. When I called about my concerns, they pretty much just told me that they knew these side effects were possible and were supposed to tell me but oops forgot to, sorry. Besides this, though, the staff is very friendly. They called to check-up after, but I really wish they had been more informative from the start since the initial bill had other medication I declined after asking about them. I had really high hopes for this clinic, but this overall experience has made it clear that I will not be returning.

Jun 07, 2025 · AkkaniThey take in more patients that they can handle.* Even with appointment, they made me wait for longer than one hour. Try working with an already stress cat and making it worse by having it wait for an hour. I got my cat returned to me after they couldn't work with him, got rescheduled, charged for the visit, and no one ever told me if my cat was fine, looked ok, was overweight, absolutely nothing.* At some point they needed to run some blood tests before they could schedule my cat for dental cleaning. One week later I call them to ask about the results, I was told the results are ready but the doctor hasn't looked at them yet and I had two wait. Another week later I call again and I was told the results just came in two days before (contradiction), but the doctor hasn't looked at them yet. So, either said doctor is not on top of the work or they take in so many patients that they can't pay enough attention to them.Their guidelines seem designed to squeeze your wallet, either on purpose or by coincidence.* Even vaccines that are not needed every year, they will tell you they are needed.* They told me the FIV vaccine for my cat was not necessary since my cat is in-house cat only and he doesn't have any symptoms. When I told them I would still want to get my cat vaccinated every few years they promptly added another $90 test to be run to make sure my cat didn't have FIV (understandable, but contradictory with "the cat seems fine, doesn't have any symptoms", "the cat doesn't need it".
Mar 10, 2025 · Hector TellezAll the staffs are Amazingly Friendly!! I never met the doctor tho, normally they would take your pet inside for treatment, and the doctor would only come out and explain to you personally when there are major concerns found.I went there with annual checkups and travel documents, they know the travel documents/ procedures very well btw, so if you have such needs, definitely come here and they will take care of the preparation for you!The price is just normal price around the bay, not cheap just about average. (Normally they will show you the estimate before treatment! So that’s helpful! )
Mar 19, 2024 · JennChose this clinic based on very strong recommendations from Bay Area Cats.Had an appointment to treat an old neighborhood cat, was breaking my girl's heart to see him limp around. Doc and staff were so friendly, knowledgeable and caring with the "best good kitty". Obviously no insurance. And there were a lot of issues. Not only was the initial exam cost reasonable but also every line item was discretely explained to accept or deny.Accepted all recommended options, nothing was unreasonable or a price gouge.I realize this little tabby might not be long for the world. But he is resting by the house, comfortable and taking some medication. There are some real heroes here and they wear scrubs. Thank you 🙏
