VCA New Hartford Animal Hospital Reviews
DO NOT TRUST THIS VET WITH YOUR PET’S LIFE.I am still shaking as I write this, because I came within inches of losing my best friend—my dog—because of the complete negligence and lack of accountability from this clinic. What was supposed to be a routine visit turned into a nightmare. My dog, who walked into their office with life in his eyes and love in his heart, nearly didn’t walk out at all. Because of their careless actions and disregard for basic medical responsibility, he suffered horribly. And the worst part? They refused to own up to it.No apology. No explanation. No compassion.Just cold silence.I trusted them with a life that means everything to me. They treated him like he was disposable.Watching my dog cry in pain, gasping for breath, not knowing if he’d make it through the night… that pain doesn’t go away. And knowing that the very people I counted on to help him might be the reason he almost died? That cuts even deeper. If you love your animal like family, please go somewhere else.Your pet deserves better. You deserve better. No one should go through what we went through. This vet nearly took my dog’s life—and they won’t even admit they did anything wrong. That says everything you need to know.THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOUR ANIMALS LIFE THEY ONLY CARE ABOUT THE $$That was made clear by MARIE “THE MANAGER”I would not even bring a stray here they have a better shot staying on the street
Jun 09, 2025 · Kushboy ExoticsI have two pugs, one with chronic health issues, and despite moving I will only bring them here for annual exams and sick visits. Not only is the staff always friendly and attentive, but knowledgeable as well. Dr. Cornelius always takes the time to sit and talk with me (a very anxious dog mom) and explain everything in thorough detail and answer all of my questions. I cannot speak highly enough of her and practice. It's evident how truly passionate about her patients and their families continued health and well being. I have never had any issues making or rescheduling appointments. I have never been surprised by a bill, prices for each exam / medication / procedure have been well outlined to me in advance. I will continue to recommend this veterinary practice, and Dr. Cornelius specifically, to all of my friends and family.
Jan 18, 2025 · Michelle DoernerWe've always had great experiences with the staff and docs here. Very kind to both humans and our animals. They are organized, professional, and very good communicators. So grateful for them.EDIT: We continue to love NHAH. They found a way to treat Gus that was inexpensive and effective.
Jan 17, 2025 · Charles MatheusA Disheartening Experience with Unethical Practices at VCA NEW HARTFORD ANIMAL HOSPITALI feel compelled to share my deeply troubling experience at VCA NEW HARTFORD ANIMAL HOSPITAL particularly with their regional manager. After a traumatic incident involving my French Bulldog, who nearly lost his life due to severe negligence, the handling of the situation by the hospital only made things worse. To provide some context, my dog was seriously harmed during a routine visit—so much so that I honestly thought I was going to lose him. The vet's actions (or lack thereof) were not only dangerous but left me questioning their professional competency. After multiple attempts to get answers and demand accountability, the regional manager “JOHN” reached out to me.What should have been an opportunity to address the situation and discuss the necessary corrective steps, turned into an attempt to silence me. The regional manager explicitly asked me to take down my honest review in exchange for a refund, effectively trying to "buy" my silence. They didn’t take any responsibility for the near-fatal mistake made by their staff and instead tried to sweep the incident under the rug. This kind of behavior is not only unethical but also deeply concerning. As a pet parent, I trusted this hospital with the health and safety of my dog, and instead of offering an apology or genuine concern, I was offered money to stay quiet. This was a clear attempt to avoid accountability and protect their image, rather than ensure their staff is properly trained and held to a high standard.I’ve been left shaken by this whole experience. I wouldn’t trust this establishment with any pet, and I strongly urge others to consider this when choosing a veterinary care provider. No pet should ever be subjected to such carelessness, nor should any customer be forced to choose between their ethics and their financial well-being.
Jun 13, 2025 · cool_gamer minecrafters/moreWe've used this vet for a few years now for annual visits. Staff has always been very friendly/great. Recently, our pup injured himself, and for the first time, we had to go for something, not just routine. Our pup had to go in for X-rays yesterday for a drop-off appointment, and we were very nervous dog parents who asked 300 questions. Staff was extremely patient with all our questions, explaining what was going to happen. They were very reassuring in such a kindmanner. The X-rays were done extremely quickly, and we got a call with results and an update on how our pup was doing so quickly. The vet was so detailed in explaining everything and providing the next treatment steps. We were very impressed. It was very clear he was well taken care of and in extremely good hands. They also called today to follow up and ask how he was doing, which I thought was so wonderful. As an extremely anxious Dog Mom here who doesn't trust many people with our baby they made me feel comfortable and like we had absolutely nothing to worry about throughout this entire experience. Our pup was clearly taken care of and loved during his drop off/X-ray experience. Couldn't be more pleased. All the staff here are very kind, patient, and care so much for the animals.Thank you so much for being so wonderful with our pup and being a place we can trust for the absolute best care!
