For pet owners in Oregon, ensuring our companions receive the necessary preventative care is a key part of responsible ownership. Vetco Vaccination Clinic, located within the Petco at 3000 Gateway St STE 220 in Springfield, provides a convenient and affordable solution for these needs. As a veterinarian service focused on accessibility, Vetco offers a streamlined approach to wellness, specializing in essential vaccinations and preventative health services. This clinic is an excellent resource for pet parents who are looking for a straightforward way to keep their pets up-to-date on their shots without the added cost of a full veterinary exam. This article will give you an in-depth look at the services, features, and overall experience you can expect at Vetco Vaccination Clinic, helping you decide if it's the right choice for your pet's wellness routine.
The Vetco experience is often praised for its friendly and informative staff. One client shared a very positive first-time experience, noting, "Everybody was very nice, and very informative. I was talked into getting a second vaccine for my dog, but I didn't feel forced or persuaded. They made me feel educated on it and I appreciated that." This feedback highlights the clinic's commitment to educating pet owners and empowering them to make the best decisions for their animals' health. The straightforward nature of their services means that you can get in, get the essential care your pet needs, and be on your way without a lot of hassle. For many Oregon residents, the convenience and focus on key preventative measures are exactly what they are looking for. The clinic’s location inside Petco also means you can easily pick up any necessary pet supplies after your visit.
However, it is important to understand the model of a Vetco clinic, as it differs from a traditional full-service animal hospital. A customer review mentioned a frustrating experience with wait times and a lack of full veterinary services. They noted, "We had an appointment at 4:00pm, arrived 10 mins early as requested, but had to wait an additional hour to be seen." This is a key point to consider when planning your visit. While the staff is often described as friendly and doing their best, wait times can occur. The reviewer also experienced a situation where their dog growled at the vet, resulting in a lecture about the dog's breed and an inability to get the intended vaccinations. This feedback is a crucial reminder that while Vetco is excellent for routine, healthy pets, they may not be equipped to handle animals with behavioral challenges or complex medical histories. They focus on vaccinations and basic preventative care, and they may recommend a full-service vet for more in-depth issues, which is a key distinction to keep in mind.
The Vetco Vaccination Clinic is located at 3000 Gateway St STE 220, Springfield, OR 97477, USA, inside the local Petco store. A general restroom is also available on-site for customer use. Unlike many traditional veterinary clinics, Vetco operates on an "appointment required" basis, which is a new change from their previous walk-in model. This is an important detail to be aware of and should be confirmed before you visit. Vetco Vaccination Clinic Reviews
Everybody was very nice, and very informative. I was talked into getting a second vaccine for my dog, but I didn’t feel forced or persuaded. They made me feel educated on it and I appreciated that. This was my first time going to them for my vaccination needs, and I will be going back to them in the future.
June 23 · Arthur McGeeVery frustrated with the Vetco experience. We had an appointment at 4:00pm, arrived 10 mins early as requested, but had to wait an additional hour to be seen. The vet techs were very friendly and were doing their best in the situation. Unfortunately my dog growled at the vet when she was examining his ear and we were unable to get the vaccinations we came for. All I received was a lecture about my dogs breed (for a dog I did not purchase). Last year it was a breeze, but I will not be using Vetco again.
March 20 · Megan WhiteI had an appointment at 2:35 and was told to get there 10 minutes early and bring my dog's vet records. It doesn't specify that I don't need to bring them if all prior visits are with Vetco (which they were). My dog is 80 lbs and a puppy so he is very excited when he sees other dogs. He wants to play and I had to hold him back from doing so until 4:00 when I finally got to leave. Juggling that, holding the file of paperwork I brought for no reason along with my bag for an hour and a half was exhausting.I went there for two reasons - 1 for his bordatella shot and 2 to get his Simparica refill extended for another year for my autoship subscription. I was told in order to do that, he needed to have a heartworm test then the "prescription pad" would be emailed to me to provide for my autoship. I paid $53 for that test and did not receive the prescription by email like I was told. When I called customer service, they told me it was probably a glitch and I need to make another appointment! WHY would I have to make another appointment and go through that all over again when I specifically paid for and had that test done so the prescription would be sent to me???
March 14 · Rebecca LIt was a super positive and super awesome experience really. The staff were quick and efficient, and even when one of my dogs decided to be a pain in the rear vaccines were still accomplished quickly, efficiently and positive overall impact for that dog. Plus, the staff let me reminisce about growing up working as a vet assistant in my grandfather’s practice, which earn some bonus points
September 27 · Meghan KreindelSlightly chaotic with an excitable dog, but worth it (no waiting in the sun in a parking lot, but instead being indoors is very nice)The vet was nice, they got us in quick with our apt we made a day ahead. Pupper loved on the vet, and barely noticed the shot.
