Veterinary Emergency Group Introduce
For pet owners across Illinois, especially those residing in the dynamic metropolis of Chicago, the unexpected can happen at any time. When a beloved pet faces a sudden illness or injury, having immediate access to specialized, compassionate veterinary care is paramount. This is where Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) in Chicago stands as a vital resource. VEG is not a typical general practice clinic; it is a dedicated emergency veterinary hospital open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including holidays. This article will provide a comprehensive look at VEG Chicago, detailing its unique approach to emergency care, its location, the services it offers, and why it has become a go-to destination for pet parents in Illinois facing urgent situations.
VEG is revolutionizing emergency veterinary medicine by focusing on a customer-centric approach that prioritizes immediate care and pet parent involvement. Unlike traditional emergency rooms where owners often wait in lobbies, VEG embraces an open-floor concept, allowing pet parents to stay by their pet's side throughout the entire treatment process. This philosophy aims to reduce stress for both the pet and the owner during what can be a very frightening experience. For Chicago locals, this means that in moments of crisis, they can be an active participant in their pet's care, receiving real-time updates and comfort, rather than feeling separated from their furry family member.
Veterinary Emergency Group in Chicago is strategically located at 1114 S Clinton St Unit B & C, Chicago, IL 60607, USA. This address places it in the South Loop area of Chicago, making it highly accessible for residents throughout the city and surrounding Illinois suburbs. Its location is particularly convenient for those in nearby neighborhoods such as the West Loop, Dearborn Park, Bridgeport, and Hyde Park, as well as being within minutes of the University of Illinois Chicago campus.
For pet owners arriving by car, the clinic's position on S Clinton Street, between W Taylor Street and Roosevelt Road, offers straightforward navigation. While specifics on dedicated parking might vary, its urban location generally means metered street parking or nearby garages are available, though it’s always advisable to consider potential traffic and parking challenges typical of a major city like Chicago, especially during an emergency. For those utilizing public transportation, the South Loop is well-served by CTA bus routes, and 'L' train stations are often within a reasonable walking distance, connecting the hospital to the broader Chicago transit network. This ease of access is crucial for an emergency facility, ensuring that pet owners can reach critical care quickly when every minute counts.
Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) in Chicago specializes exclusively in emergency and urgent veterinary care. Their entire operation is designed to provide immediate, high-quality medical attention for pets facing critical health issues, with services available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

May 22, 2025 · Marisol Gonzalez (Soly)Since the phone call with Randy, all staff in the hospital were amazing. Dr. R Itescu explained everything and had compassion and patience, very professional. They right away checked my fur baby's vitals Peewee ). And we didn't have to wait all these crazy hours. I love to take my fur babies where they are going to have the best treatment. I hope I don’t ever have to go back to the ER. But if I have to, it would be here at VEG. Thank you all for your professionalism. Don't ever change! =)
Jun 18, 2025 · Jocelyn GaytanI was able to call in and reach a doctor immediately to discuss the circumstances of my pet! So together we decided it would be best if I came in with my cat Gustav. I walked in and was immediately helped. The staff here is so kind, understanding, and immediately ready to help! I also being a college student was extremely worried about cost, but Dr. Grossman was very understanding. He helped me figure out the best/most affordable plan for treating Gustav and overall genuinely cared so much for my furbaby! I recommend this vet to anyone in an emergency situation as they were so quick and caring. Even just calling in I could tell how much they care and want to help! Gustav and I are very thankful! He is doing much better now thanks to their care!
Mar 14, 2025 · Elizabeth BatThey took exceptional care of our MJ during his last few months. Always patient and willing to explain what needed to happen and why. Unfortunately at our last visit, MJ died with 15 mins of us arriving. He was immediately seen by the Dr and attendee and despite our plan of action to hospitalize him, his heart stopped. They did 3 rounds of CPR but he didn't come back to us. It was the hardest goodbye I've ever had to witness. The way everyone dropped what they were doing to attend to him... my gratitude could never be properly expressed. Through my sobs of disbelief, they spoke to me kindly and at the end gave me privacy to say goodbye. It's been almost a month now and I am still so grateful to each and every person there. They are compassionate and willing to go the extra mile to care for those we love. Thank you so much for all that you do ❤️🩹
