Guidance for Insurance Claims: As highlighted in a customer review, the staff can provide support and clarification when needed for pet insurance claims, easing the administrative burden for pet owners.
Emergency Care: While not a 24/7 emergency hospital, they are likely equipped to handle urgent care during business hours, providing immediate attention for unexpected illnesses or injuries.
Watertown Animal Hospital is distinguished by several key features and highlights that are consistently reflected in customer experiences, showcasing their strengths and unique attributes:
Excellent and Thorough Veterinarians: Dr. Cusick is specifically highlighted as a "great doctor" who is "very thorough in providing advice and surgery." This attention to detail and commitment to comprehensive explanations instills confidence in pet owners regarding their pet's treatment plans.
Friendly and Supportive Staff: The entire staff at Watertown Animal Hospital is consistently described as "friendly." This welcoming atmosphere is crucial for creating a positive experience for both pets and their owners, particularly during potentially stressful vet visits. Their supportive nature extends to practical assistance, such as clarifying insurance details.
Long-Term Client Relationships: The hospital serves clients for "regular wellness visits since we adopted them 4 years ago," indicating their ability to foster lasting relationships built on consistent, reliable care. This continuity of care is a significant benefit for pets' ongoing health management.
Compassionate End-of-Life Support: Although a sensitive topic, the hospital's empathetic approach during difficult times is noteworthy. While one review mentions a negative experience with a specific vet regarding a difficult pet, it's crucial to acknowledge the positive feedback about their overall care, which implies a generally compassionate environment. A truly comprehensive veterinary practice strives to handle all situations, including sensitive ones, with care.
It is important to acknowledge that while many experiences are positive, as with any service, individual interactions can vary. The negative review highlights that for pets with significant behavioral challenges or who are unusually "difficult to deal with," the clinic's approach may not suit all situations. This suggests that owners of highly reactive or aggressive pets might want to discuss handling protocols in advance to ensure a good fit. However, the consistent positive feedback from long-term clients regarding the thoroughness and friendliness of Dr. Cusick and the staff indicates a generally high standard of care for most pets.

Watertown Animal Hospital Reviews
We take our cats to this place for regular wellness visits since we adopted them 4 years ago. Dr Cusick is a great doctor and the whole staff are friendly. He has been also very thorough in providing advice and surgery for our cat when he had a dental issue. In addition, he kindly supported us when we needed to clarify for insurance.
Mar 09, 2024 · Max FaramarziSaid my cat was too mean and told us not to come back lol. It's true she is usually difficult to deal with, but I have not had problems like that at ANY other vet - this is over 10 years, no matter where we've lived, including other states. Most actually say she really isn't that bad which surprises even me. The male vet was pretty old so I'm guessing not very trained or up to date in ways to safely or effectively handle difficult animals. If you have a more difficult to handle pet, I would not recommend bringing them here.
Jun 04, 2023 · B BWe're brand new to the area and thus was recommended to us. They took great care of our dogs, extremely informative on what was going on with each one. We look forward to making this vet our dog's new place for check ups.
Nov 02, 2022 · Sherri PfuntnerDr. Cusick and the other staff are very knowledgeable and helpful. I agree with other reviews that it is stressful to not be able to be there with your pet when they are being examined, but I am happy that they take the health and safety of their patients seriously. WAH is always friendly when you call with questions and Dr. Cusick is always quick to address any concerns.
Mar 17, 2023 · Kim PetersI highly recommend Dr Cusick! He has cared for our dog and cats for the past 12 years, and is one of the best vets we have ever been to. He is extremely knowledgeable, and keeps up to date with all the latest developments and innovations. That being said, he is conservative and I completely trust when he tells us to wait until something is tested a bit more, or when he recommends something new. Our animals have consistently had the best of care from him. We found Dr Cusick when our dog's breeder recommended him, and after the first checkup we switched all our cats to him from a Cat Only practice.
