Animal Dermatology Clinic Introduce
For pet parents in New Jersey, seeing our beloved companions suffer from persistent itching, irritating rashes, or chronic ear infections can be incredibly distressing. While general veterinarians can address many health concerns, complex skin and ear conditions often require specialized expertise. This is precisely where the Animal Dermatology Clinic in Tinton Falls, NJ, steps in, offering dedicated and advanced veterinary dermatological care. As a clinic focused solely on skin, ear, and allergy issues, they provide a level of expertise and diagnostic capability that can be truly life-changing for pets struggling with these often-frustrating conditions. This article will explore what makes the Animal Dermatology Clinic a crucial resource for New Jersey pet owners, detailing its convenient location, the specialized services it offers, and the compassionate approach that sets it apart.
The Animal Dermatology Clinic is a specialized veterinary practice, meaning their veterinarians, such as the highly praised Dr. Kalosy, are often board-certified dermatologists. This level of specialization involves extensive additional training beyond veterinary school, focusing specifically on the diagnosis and treatment of conditions affecting the skin, ears, hair, and nails of animals. They handle a wide array of issues that might puzzle general practitioners, including complex allergies, autoimmune diseases, chronic ear infections, and unusual skin growths. Their philosophy centers on not just managing symptoms but diligently working to identify the underlying cause of a pet's discomfort to provide long-term relief. For New Jersey families whose pets have been struggling with recurring skin or ear problems, or whose conditions haven't responded to previous treatments, the Animal Dermatology Clinic offers a beacon of hope. They understand the impact these conditions have on a pet's quality of life and on the well-being of the entire family, as evidenced by clients feeling "supported" and appreciating that their pet's care was "acknowledged." This specialized focus, combined with a compassionate approach, makes them an invaluable resource for the more challenging dermatological cases in our community.

The Animal Dermatology Clinic specializes in a comprehensive range of diagnostic and treatment services specifically for conditions affecting the skin, ears, hair, and nails of pets. Their focus allows for highly specialized and effective approaches to challenging dermatological cases.
- Allergy Testing and Management: This is a core service, including intradermal (skin) allergy testing ("gold standard") to identify specific environmental allergens causing a pet's symptoms. Based on results, they develop customized immunotherapy plans (allergy shots or drops) to desensitize pets, addressing the root cause of their allergies.
- Ear Disease Diagnosis and Treatment: They expertly manage chronic and recurrent ear infections (otitis). This often involves advanced diagnostics like video otoscopy, which uses a highly magnified camera to examine the deeper parts of the ear canal, eardrum, and even the middle ear. Procedures like myringotomy (a small incision in the eardrum to drain fluid) may also be performed.
- Diagnosis and Treatment of Chronic Skin Disorders: This encompasses a wide variety of conditions beyond allergies, such as autoimmune skin diseases, parasitic skin diseases (e.g., mange mites), bacterial and fungal skin infections (e.g., yeast, ringworm), genetic skin conditions, and disorders causing hair loss (alopecia).
- Food Allergy Diagnostics: They provide guidance and strategies for diagnosing food allergies, which often involve elimination diets, to pinpoint dietary triggers for skin and gastrointestinal issues.
- In-House Diagnostic Testing: To ensure prompt and accurate diagnoses, they perform various tests on-site, including skin scrapings (to identify mites), trichograms (microscopic evaluation of hair), impression smears, and tape preparations (to examine skin cells for infections).
- Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy: At select locations, this advanced therapy can be used to promote healing for certain skin conditions.
- Surgical Procedures (Dermatology-Related): While not a general surgery center, they may perform surgical procedures relevant to dermatology, such as biopsies for skin masses or to diagnose autoimmune conditions.
- Medication Management: Expertise in prescribing and managing various dermatological medications, including corticosteroids, antihistamines, antibiotics, antifungals, and specialized topical treatments, often working to reduce reliance on long-term medications where possible.
- Client Education: They dedicate time to thoroughly explain diagnoses, treatment options, and home care instructions, empowering pet owners to actively participate in their pet's recovery and ongoing management.
Animal Dermatology Clinic in Tinton Falls offers several distinctive features and highlights that make it a premier choice for specialized pet skin and ear care in New Jersey.

This level of expertise is a significant advantage for complex or persistent issues.

- Thorough Communication and Multiple Treatment Options: Clients appreciate that the vets "took their time to talk through everything and give me multiple treatment options." This empowers pet owners to make informed decisions that align with their pet's needs and their family's circumstances, and shows a commitment to patient education.
- Root Cause Identification: The clinic's approach goes beyond merely treating symptoms; they are dedicated to identifying the "environmental irritants" and "underlying internal conditions" that cause dermatological problems, aiming for long-term solutions rather than just temporary relief.
- Continuity and Follow-Up Care: The clinic's commitment extends beyond the initial visit, with practices of "even followed up to see how she was doing," demonstrating a dedication to monitoring progress and ensuring successful outcomes.

Animal Dermatology Clinic Reviews
Dr Kalosy and Marie are the best! Ripley’s exam was handled so gently, taking into account his fragile condition. They were supportive of us and acknowledged how well Ripley was cared for, it was great to hear.
Feb 28, 2025 · Mary FerraraI used to bring our cat Dora to the northern NJ location, but I'm so glad they opened up an office in Tinton Falls, which is much closer. The staff and vet were all super nice, welcoming, and very thorough. Most importantly, I felt they took their time to talk through everything and give me multiple treatment options, since we were concerned that Dora was having an allergic reaction outside her typical "itchy season". I felt their guidance was spot-on to helping Dora feel better right away, and I appreciated that they even followed up to see how she was doing.
