Services Offered
Blue Ridge Veterinary Clinic is a full-service veterinary clinic dedicated to handling all aspects of pet health for companion animals, primarily dogs and cats. Their comprehensive approach includes:
Wellness Visits and Preventive Medicine: This foundational service includes routine annual physical examinations, tailored vaccination protocols based on your pet's age, lifestyle, and risk factors, and proactive parasite prevention and control programs (including for fleas, ticks, and heartworm). Their focus is on preventing illness and promoting long-term health and vitality for your pet.
Puppy & Kitten Care: Specialized programs designed to give young pets the best start in life. This includes initial wellness checks, core and elective vaccinations, deworming, nutritional guidance, and advice on behavioral development to help new pet parents foster happy, healthy companions.

Internal Medicine: Diagnosis and treatment for a wide range of complex medical conditions affecting various organ systems, including gastrointestinal, respiratory, urinary, endocrine, and cardiovascular diseases.
Surgical Procedures: Offering a broad spectrum of surgical services for companion animals, including routine spaying and neutering, tumor removal, abdominal and soft tissue procedures, and C-sections. Anesthetic plans are carefully designed and implemented by veterinarians, with comprehensive monitoring of vital signs during surgery to ensure patient safety.
Dental Care: Providing professional dental cleanings, extractions when necessary, and comprehensive oral health assessments. Dental X-rays may also be used to assess health below the gumline, crucial for preventing systemic diseases.
Emergency & Urgent Care: The clinic has one veterinarian and staff on duty four days a week who are trained and equipped to handle many urgent care situations. For life-threatening emergencies (e.g., severe poisoning, hit-by-car incidents), they can stabilize the pet and may refer to larger 24-hour facilities. They also work to "squeeze in" urgent cases that are not life-threatening but require prompt attention, advising clients to call ahead.
Pain Management: Developing comprehensive strategies for managing both acute and chronic pain in pets, enhancing their comfort and quality of life.
Nutritional Counseling: Expert advice on dietary needs for pets of all ages and health conditions, including prescription diets for specific medical concerns. They also offer resources on choosing the right food for puppies and senior pets.
Microchipping: Essential for pet identification and significantly increasing the chances of reuniting lost pets with their owners.
Hospice & Euthanasia Services: Providing compassionate support and care during a pet's final stages of life, focusing on comfort and dignity, and assisting owners through difficult decisions.
Laser Therapy: Offering cold laser therapy as a non-invasive, drug-free treatment to reduce pain, inflammation, and speed the healing process for various acute and chronic conditions.

Blue Ridge Veterinary Clinic Reviews
My dog and I felt great after our first visit to our new vet. The owner and staff were warm and kind to both of us. We look forward to seeing y'all again soon.
Apr 07, 2025 · KatieMy girlfriend and I were on vacation this past weekend while our little girl was sick. Seven month old Alaskan malamute had clearly gotten into something, causing her some pretty severe diarrhea and intestinal issues. We left a message Sunday, which of course they were closed, but arrived early at 7:30 AM Monday morning. Ruthie Was absolutely fabulous and quickly brought us in. If you are a visitor from a larger area, this place can look very deceiving when you drive up to it, but rest assured your animal will get the best of care at this facility. I kind of compare it to the old Michael J. Fox movie Doc Holliday in a small town with the office that kind of looks like a house. Absolutely recommend this folks and our baby girl is on the mend!
