California Animal Rehabilitation Introduce
For pet owners across California, the bond with a furry companion is one of life’s greatest joys. When a pet faces a health challenge, especially one that impacts their mobility or quality of life, finding a place that offers both expert medical care and genuine compassion becomes a top priority. California Animal Rehabilitation, located in the heart of Los Angeles, is a facility dedicated to helping pets, particularly those with physical and chronic health issues. This animal hospital, pet rehabilitation center, and boarding service aims to provide a holistic and comprehensive approach to animal health. The team at this facility works to give hope to pet owners who may feel that their options are limited, offering a wide range of services designed to improve mobility, manage pain, and extend the active years of a pet's life. From innovative therapies to routine care, they strive to be a trusted resource for the diverse needs of the California pet community. Their mission is not just to treat an illness but to improve the overall well-being and happiness of the animals in their care.
The facility is designed to address a variety of health concerns, from post-surgical recovery to long-term chronic conditions. The range of services, including physical rehabilitation, acupuncture, and alternative therapies, reflects a commitment to a multi-faceted approach to pet health. Many pet owners, especially those with senior dogs or pets with degenerative conditions like hip dysplasia, seek out specialized care that goes beyond a standard veterinary visit. California Animal Rehabilitation endeavors to fill this need, offering treatments that can help a pet regain strength and mobility. A powerful testament to their work comes from a pet owner who shared the story of their dog, Bingo, who lost feeling in his hind legs due to a slipped disk. Through the care at this facility, Bingo was able to start walking again, a truly miraculous outcome that brought tears of joy and renewed hope. The reviewer highlighted that the staff at this establishment not only provided effective treatment but also offered emotional support and encouragement to the pet owner. This kind of personal connection and dedicated effort is what makes a difference in a pet’s recovery journey, turning what feels like a hopeless situation into a story of resilience and renewed life. However, it is also important for potential clients to be aware that experiences can vary. A deeply distressing account from another user describes a heartbreaking experience with pet boarding, citing severe neglect and a shocking decline in their dog's health, including extreme weight loss and visible scars. The review alleges that the staff was defensive and dismissive when confronted with these serious issues. This contrasting feedback underscores the importance of thoroughly vetting any facility, asking detailed questions about care protocols, and ensuring a comfort level with the services provided, particularly for extended stays like boarding. For all pet owners, it is essential to feel complete trust in the people caring for their animal, and these reviews highlight the necessity of due diligence.

California Animal Rehabilitation offers an extensive list of services that cater to the diverse needs of pets. The services go far beyond general veterinary care, focusing on rehabilitation, pain management, and holistic treatment. Their offerings are designed to address both physical and mental well-being, providing comprehensive support for pets in need of a wide range of care. From therapeutic exercises to advanced medical treatments, the facility is equipped to handle complex cases. A highlight of their services is the focus on alternative and integrative medicine, which includes practices like acupuncture and herbal medicine, offering pet owners options beyond traditional pharmaceuticals. The clinic is also prepared to manage ongoing health issues, providing chronic disease management and nutritional consultations to support a pet’s long-term health. The availability of services such as pet boarding and grooming adds another layer of convenience, allowing owners to consolidate their pet's needs at a single location. The team of veterinarians and physical therapists work together to create customized treatment plans, ensuring that each animal receives the most appropriate and effective care. This personalized approach is fundamental to their philosophy.
- Active and Physical Therapy: Tailored exercises and routines to improve mobility and strength.
- Acupuncture and Alternative Therapies: Including Chinese Herbal Medicine, magnetic therapy, and cold laser therapy for pain relief and healing.
- Chronic Disease Management: Long-term care plans for conditions like degenerative joint disease and kidney disease.
- Medical and Emergency Services: General practice, small animal medicine and surgery, and emergency surgery.
- Boarding and Grooming: Overnight pet care, medical boarding, and grooming services.
- Preventative Health and Wellness: Nutrition consultation, pet obesity prevention, and spay and neuter services.
Among the many features and highlights that make California Animal Rehabilitation a distinct choice for pet owners is their holistic and integrative approach to care. They don’t just focus on a single symptom but on the entire well-being of the animal, often combining traditional Western medicine with alternative treatments. The ability to offer services like veterinary acupuncture and food therapy alongside standard medical treatments shows a commitment to providing a full spectrum of options. Their expertise in rehabilitation is a key highlight, as they specialize in helping pets recover from injuries, surgeries, or conditions that affect mobility. The heartwarming story of Bingo, the dog who learned to walk again, is a powerful example of the kind of life-changing outcomes they strive to achieve. However, it is impossible to ignore the contradictory review that points to severe issues with their boarding services, highlighting a lack of attention to basic needs like feeding and hygiene. This conflicting feedback suggests that while their rehabilitation services may be highly effective for some, the level of care in their boarding program may not meet the same standards. For pet owners, this means it is crucial to ask specific questions about the protocols for overnight stays, including feeding schedules, exercise routines, and staff supervision. Amenities such as a restroom for visitors are a nice touch, demonstrating a consideration for the human clients as well. The practice's policy of recommending appointments ensures that each pet receives a focused and dedicated time slot with the veterinary team, minimizing wait times and ensuring a structured visit. This planning is essential for a practice with such a wide range of specialized services.
- Integrative Veterinary Medicine: Combining conventional and alternative therapies for a comprehensive approach.
- Specialization in Rehabilitation: Expertise in helping pets recover from injuries and mobility issues.
- Compassionate and Encouraging Staff: A team that provides not only medical care but also emotional support.
- Appointments Recommended: A structured approach to scheduling ensures dedicated time for each pet's care.
- Accessibility Features: A facility designed to be welcoming and easily navigable for all clients, with wheelchair accessible entry and parking.

The address for the facility is 2237 Colby Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90064, USA. As appointments are recommended, it is best to call in advance to discuss your pet's needs and secure a time slot that works for you. This contact information provides a direct link to their team, allowing you to ask questions about their services, policies, and the suitability of their treatments for your pet's specific condition. The staff's availability to provide information and guidance is a key part of the process of choosing the right care provider for a pet, especially when dealing with complex or long-term health issues.
Choosing California Animal Rehabilitation for your pet is a decision that requires careful consideration, given the starkly different experiences reported by customers. On one hand, the testimonials about their rehabilitation services are truly inspiring, showcasing a team that can help pets overcome what seem like insurmountable physical challenges. The story of a pet regaining the ability to walk is a powerful endorsement of their specialized therapies, such as acupuncture and physical rehabilitation. The staff's ability to provide hope and support during difficult times is a valuable quality that many pet owners seek. Their holistic approach, which integrates a variety of treatments from different medical traditions, offers a robust path to wellness for pets with complex needs. However, the severe negative feedback regarding their boarding service is a significant concern that cannot be overlooked. The allegations of neglect and shocking health decline are serious and should prompt any prospective client to be extremely cautious and to ask detailed questions about the feeding, care, and supervision protocols for pets staying at the facility. While the practice may excel in rehabilitation, the reported issues with their other services suggest an inconsistency in care. Ultimately, what is worth choosing is a place that you trust completely with your pet's well-being. For those seeking specialized rehabilitation for mobility issues, California Animal Rehabilitation may offer the expertise needed for a positive outcome. However, for services like boarding, a separate and thorough investigation of their policies and practices is absolutely necessary to ensure your pet is safe and properly cared for. The decision rests on carefully weighing the positive reviews of their core rehabilitation services against the serious concerns raised about their boarding and general care. This duality of feedback makes it a facility that requires a high degree of personal research and vigilance from the pet owner to ensure a good experience.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Some of the best people on Earth. They give you hope when it feels hopeless and effort when it feels like everyone around you is telling you to give up.My best friend Bingo lost feeling in his hind legs from a slipped disk. I remember my mom sending me the video of his legs picking up because of the rubber bands under his little toes. I cried like a baby at work because I didn't think it was possible but they show you it is. I'm writing all this because they really showed that they loved and cared about my best friend. It's really something I will never forget. They gave him another chance and he started walking again after a few months. I truly appreciate them and I recommend Care to anyone dealing with a pet that might be dealing with similar issues. Everything changes. You have to learn how to express them, walk with them, watch them adapt to a more sedentary life and Care makes it feel like you can do it and even more. My bingo passed away earlier this year and I miss him so much but Care helped us extend his life by years I feel. Thank you thank you thank you
August 06 · Richard CraneyAbsolutely Heartbreaking Experience – Do Not Trust Them with Your PetI left my dog at California Animal Rehabilitation Center for what was supposed to be a two-week stay while I was away, and it turned into an absolute nightmare. When I picked him up, I was shocked and devastated. My dog, who was healthy and full of energy when I dropped him off, came back skinny to the bones, with his ribs and spine clearly visible. Even worse, he had multiple scars and visible signs of neglect. It was obvious he had not been fed properly—if at all—on a consistent schedule. His eyes were sunken, and he was weak and disoriented. When I confronted the staff, they were defensive, dismissive, and offered no real explanation or apology. One staff member even tried to claim my dog “must have had a fast metabolism.” Are you serious? This place is supposed to specialize in rehabilitation and care, but from what I experienced, they’re barely providing the basics. I trusted them with my dog’s health and well-being, and they completely failed. If you care about your pet even slightly, do NOT leave them here.
May 21 · Dub CSo caring, versatile, skilled. My dog is far better than when he arrived for his first treatment and they always carefully listen to and address changes from visit to visit. 2.5 years in and still going 💪
July 06 · Jessica SimoneCan’t recommend CARE enough! The staff is top notch and truly care about the dogs they work with. Dr Polkowski and every single staff member have been amazing with my American Bulldog. They are thorough and take the time to work with your pup, whatever the injury or condition may be.
May 08 · Valerie PitaloIn January 2024, my Cooper, 83 lbs, 10 years old choc lab had an emergency spinal surgery and he had the best recovery at CARE for two weeks right after. I was so glad that I found CARE. Cooper was too!!Their staff from frontend to backend and vets were so kind to us. I felt Cooper was in good hand right away when Dr Karen assessed and took him in. I received daily update from the vets which was an assurance.Cooper went in unable to walk and was miserable. I visited him during his stay, I found staff were friendly and I always felt welcomed. Cooper showed progress of his recovery every time I visited. He wagging his tail walking to me when I picked him up to come home. I could not have given Cooper what he needed post surgery the way CARE could. I am forever thankful for CARE and I LOVE Cooper!
