Cascade Veterinary Referral Center Reviews
I had one of the scariest nights of my life when my 7 lb Yorkie suddenly started screaming in pain, shaking and drooling uncontrollably. It came out of nowhere at 3:00am and I was panicked, emotional, and completely overwhelmed. I rushed to the emergency vet, barely holding it together, terrified something was seriously wrong.Enter Erik, the vet tech who truly went above and beyond. After what I later learned was a 12-hour shift, he somehow found the energy and compassion to talk me off the ledge. He was calm, kind, and incredibly grounding. He offered to take my dog to the back so he could sit next to her, monitor her closely, and give her something for the pain.At 5AM, in one of the most stressful moments I’ve ever had as a rescue pet owner, Erik made all the difference. His care and empathy brought relief not just to my girl, but to me as well. I’m beyond grateful for his presence that night. Thank you, Erik—you are a true gem
Jul 23, 2025 · Kimberly GurseyI have the utmost respect for this group. From the first phone call I made to them, nothing but kindness and compassion. My chocolate lab Si was 11 years old, and seemed to have every chocolate lab issue known to man. But he was the best companion a family could ask for. His regular vet had closed recently so I was in a bind to find someone that didn’t know us to help us with this heartbreaking event. I’m thankful I was referred by a friend to call this vet office. As soon as we pulled up and entered the lobby we were greeted warmly, and once they knew why we were there led us to a nice dim back room where I laid on the floor with my boy. I had only gone thru this one other time and this time went better. Everyone was caring and kind. They made the process easy and even have doors leading straight out to the parking lot so you don’t have to be a blubbering mess in front of other people when you’re ready to leave. Today I picked up his remains and as soon as I went outside with him I blubbered again. And even this gal that helped me was nothing but compassionate about my situation and my loss. If you have the need for a vet, and especially if you’re ready for end of life care for your companion, do not go anywhere else. I drove an hour to go here and I’d do it again in a heartbeat to have the same care for my furry family members. They deserve nothing but the best and that’s what this place is. Thank you to everyone here that helped me with the passing of my beloved Si.
Apr 23, 2025 · Amy ReedI brought my dog to Cascade Veterinary Referral Center on April 10th for a consultation regarding a possible hip surgery. While the attending doctor was professional and kind, the overall experience was deeply disappointing.Upon arrival, I was told that Stevie’s x-rays—taken at our regular veterinary clinic—had not been received because they were “lost.” I was never informed of this beforehand. Instead of the team at Cascade Veterinary Referral Center following up in advance (as would be expected for a specialty consult), I had to personally drive to the original clinic, work with their staff, and ensure the x-rays were sent over myself. There was no way a proper consultation could be done without imaging, so I strongly suspect that had I not tracked them down, I would have been charged for a new set taken on-site. Hmmmm (?)Following a brief evaluation, I was informed that Cascade Veterinary Referral Center does not perform the surgery in question and was referred elsewhere. The entire consult lasted about 30 minutes, relied on imaging I personally obtained, and resulted in a redirection to another clinic—yet I was charged $245. For comparison, the referred clinic charges $195 for a more comprehensive surgical consultation.I later reached out by phone to express my concerns—not to request a refund (in fact, I stated multiple times that this was not my intention)—but to ask whether anyone at Cascade Veterinary Referral Center believed this experience reflected the value of the service provided. I was hoping for an open, professional conversation. Instead, I was met with defensiveness, couldn’t finish a full sentence without being cut off, was accused of seeking a refund, and ultimately hung up on mid-discussion.This review isn’t about the money—it’s about the lack of accountability and the treatment I received when I respectfully raised concerns. If you're going to position yourself as a premium specialty provider, there needs to be a higher standard for communication, client care, and professionalism.
Apr 17, 2025 · Matthew FerrisMy dog was extremely sick over night & they immediately answered at 4am for us to bring him in. The staff & vet were so understanding and provided amazing care. He was there for a little under 12 hours and I got frequent updates. The vet was very cost conscious with us on what she felt was absolutely vital for care and what is more just for reassurance. They made a stressful and scary experience feel as calm and reassuring as possible. I hope to not need them again but would definitely recommend and use again!
Apr 26, 2025 · Autumn CarterI brought my cat for congestion and wheezing, suspecting it could be aspirational pneumonia. We did an X-ray (over $400) and it came out fine. The diagnosis is “not pneumonia” and I was sent home with an over priced nasal drop. The vet could not tell what was wrong with him and when I requested antibiotics, she immediately rejected it.Even if my cat really does not have pneumonia, SOMETHING is wrong and there could be infection elsewhere, but the vet would not entertain this possibility even though she could not have a real diagnosis other than “not pneumonia”, which I could have done if I had the radiographs and was using Google. When my cat sounds even more congested that night, I called and was told to bring my cat over again! Why would I stress out my cat if you are not going to give me the medications? I was just there this morning!!! I asked for antibiotics again and the vet tech on the phone gave me a long speech that can be summarized as: the vet this morning did not trust her own reading of the radiographs. I have to spend another $200+ for the x-rays (declared clear) to be read and confirmed by someone more professional. And no, they are STILL not going to give me any antibiotics! This place is a cash grab and a scam. For $600+, I got a “not pneumonia” (that they are not even sure about) and a blatant display of God complex. They have the absolute power of prescription and they are going to let you beg them with no avail, under the guise of “concerned about antibiotics abuse”.They don’t care about your pet. They don’t even care about the “antibiotics abuse”. They just want to get $$$ from desperate pet owners. Read the negative reviews. They are real.
