Creature Comforts Veterinary Hospital provides a comprehensive array of medical, surgical, and diagnostic services designed to cater to the diverse health needs of various animal companions. Their commitment extends to both traditional pets like dogs and cats, as well as a wide range of exotic animals. Here's a detailed look at the services you can expect:
Comprehensive Preventative Medicine and Wellness Care: This forms the cornerstone of pet health. Services include routine physical examinations, tailored vaccination schedules based on your pet's lifestyle and environment, parasite control (fleas, ticks, heartworm prevention), and microchipping for permanent identification. They emphasize early detection and prevention to promote long-term health.
Exotic Animal Medicine and Surgery: A significant highlight is their specialized care for exotic pets, a service not commonly offered by all veterinary practices. Their experienced veterinarian, Dr. Ayersman, treats a variety of non-traditional pets including guinea pigs, rabbits, chinchillas, hamsters, snakes, lizards (like leopard geckos), and more. This includes physical examinations, environmental and nutritional consultations, and critical care for these unique species. They even have a dedicated avian and exotics ward with temperature-controlled cages to minimize stress during their stay.
Surgery and Anesthesia: The hospital is equipped with a modern, fully-equipped surgery suite. They perform a wide range of surgical procedures from routine spaying and neutering to soft tissue surgeries like growth removals and abdominal exploratory surgery. They utilize gas anesthesia machines and advanced anesthetic monitoring equipment to ensure the safest possible procedures for your pet.
Dentistry and Oral Surgery: Recognizing the importance of oral health, Creature Comforts Veterinary Hospital offers comprehensive dental care, including annual dental exams, professional teeth cleaning and polishing, dental X-rays to detect hidden issues, and surgical tooth extractions. They stress that good oral hygiene is crucial for overall pet health.
Diagnostic Services: To aid in quick and accurate diagnoses, they offer a variety of in-house diagnostic tools. These include digital radiography (X-rays) and ultrasonography for evaluating internal organs, heart conditions, and diagnosing pregnancy. Their in-house laboratory facilities provide for urgent testing such as CBC (complete blood count) analysis, blood chemistry, urinalysis, and parasite testing. They also utilize commercial veterinary laboratories for more specialized diagnostics.
Nutritional Counseling: They provide guidance on appropriate dietary selection and feeding practices for animals at all life stages, including growth, gestation, and old age. This also covers special considerations for exotic animal species and pets with specific disease conditions where nutritional intervention plays a crucial role in management.
Behavioral Counseling: The team can assist with a range of behavioral issues, helping pet owners understand and address concerns like aggression, fear biting, separation anxiety, feather picking, overgrooming, hiding, self-mutilation, or inappropriate elimination. They aim to identify underlying causes and develop strategies to improve quality of life for both pet and family.
Pharmacy: Creature Comforts Veterinary Hospital maintains a well-stocked inventory of pharmaceuticals, vitamins, shampoos, flea and tick control products, heartworm preventatives, and a full line of prescription diets, offering convenient access to necessary medications and specialized foods.

Creature Comforts Veterinary Hospital Reviews
Thank you for 18 years of caring for our Harley. We receive your card and Haley paw print. It brought tears for your caring of your customer. Thank you so much for caring in our times, that we had to decide to put Harley down for health reason.
Dec 14, 2024 · Thomas LingWe got a new puppy and we decide to try a new vet. We decided to try Creature Comforts which is in closer proximity to our house. Our puppy was having some digestive issues. They fit us in for an earlier appointment and asked us to bring a stool sample. Dr. Johnson was very reassuring and told us what we should do to resolve it. We were notified about the stool sample results the very next day. All issues were resolved and we could not be happier with our choice of veterinary practices. Each appt has been great.
Jun 04, 2025 · Kathy KeefeFrom the moment we walked in the atmosphere was positive. Great care for our Skiddles, at one point even he had stopped his low loud meows. Staff is wonderful. Very happy
Jun 20, 2025 · Deb DansereauWe moved from the area but continue to travel back to Creature Comforts for all of our pets' appointments because I love how well they take care of them. I think I'll continue to make the trip because I'm picky about how my pets are cared for and nobody has met those expectations outside of Creature Comforts!
Dec 20, 2024 · Tiffany MillerI have been going to Creature Comforts for years due to their wide array of services, ease of scheduling, and friendliness of staff, but I never was more grateful for them than when my dog was diagnosed with a cancerous tumor. They made the terrible diagnosis manageable, and was able to see Moe quickly for surgery without it being too terribly expensive (under $2000 out of pocket, without insurance.) When Moe had to go in a week later to have a loose suture looked at, it was a no charge appointment and we were even refunded $75. Moe's margins look great and cancer-free, so we'll hopefully have many more years with our furry friend! We'll definitely be taking him to Creature Comforts.
