Let’s delve further into what makes this Norristown institution the purr-fect choice for your cat's healthcare needs.
Cats Only Veterinary Hospital is conveniently located at 1533 DeKalb St, Norristown, PA 19401, USA. Norristown, situated in Montgomery County, serves as a central and easily accessible hub within the broader Pennsylvania region. Its strategic location makes the hospital readily reachable for cat owners not only from Norristown itself but also from surrounding communities across southeastern Pennsylvania.
DeKalb Street (Route 202) is a major artery, ensuring that the hospital is easy to find and navigate to, whether you are coming from nearby suburbs or further afield. This prime location minimizes travel time, which is particularly beneficial when you're bringing a cat to the vet, as trips can often be stressful for felines. Ample parking is typically a consideration for veterinary visits, and facilities on main roads often provide convenient options. For those relying on public transportation, Norristown is a transit-rich area, with various bus routes and regional rail services connecting it to other parts of Montgomery County and Philadelphia. While bringing a cat on public transport requires careful planning and a secure carrier, the option exists for those without personal vehicles. The ease of access, combined with a dedicated focus on feline patients, helps to reduce the overall stress of a veterinary visit for both cats and their owners in the Pennsylvania region. The ability to make a quick and efficient trip to a specialized facility is a significant advantage for local cat parents.

- Diagnostic Services: Equipped with an in-house laboratory and digital radiography (X-rays), they can perform rapid blood and urine tests, and capture high-quality images of internal structures (abdominal, thoracic, head) to diagnose conditions quickly and accurately. They discuss results and images with owners in the exam room.
- Surgical Services: The hospital is prepared to handle various surgical procedures, with IV catheters placed in all surgical patients for continuous fluid support and medication administration.
- Dental Care: Recognizing the importance of oral health in cats, they offer comprehensive dental services including oral exams, teeth cleanings, and extractions to prevent painful dental diseases.
- Hospitalization & Monitoring: For cats requiring intensive care, the hospital is equipped with monitoring equipment and provides a comfortable, quiet environment. They encourage owners to bring familiar items and visit their hospitalized cats, with daily updates from doctors.
- Pharmacy Services: For convenience, the hospital maintains an in-house pharmacy stocking commonly used, cat-specific medications. An online pharmacy option is also available.
- Boarding Services: They offer a "cat-friendly, quiet, cozy boarding facility" for cats whose owners are away. The staff are observant and proactive, as evidenced by a review where they separated two stressed cats to prevent injury, demonstrating their commitment to feline well-being during stays.

Cats Only Veterinary Hospital Reviews
I recently boarded my two cats at Cats Only, and I couldn’t be more grateful for the care they received. My cats were understandably stressed being away from home and started acting out toward each other. The staff noticed right away and took the initiative to separate them to prevent any injuries and reduce their stress levels. I really appreciated how observant and proactive they were — it showed me that my cats were truly in good hands. I felt completely confident in their safety and care throughout their stay, and I wouldn’t hesitate to bring them back again. Thank you, Cats Only, for treating them like your own!
Jul 03, 2025 · Nicole JonesLove Cats Only!! We moved 30 minutes away from them and still make the trip because of how great they are. Prices are good, service is speedy, and always answer all of my questions. I have a rather tempered baby boy who doesn’t love hands on him all the time, but the staff welcome him just like any other cat even if he’s a little aggressive. Sometimes people shame cats like that, so it makes me feel confident when they accept him. Highly recommend!
May 17, 2024 · Ruth MitzelI regularly board my cats here and I always feel safe and confident that they’re in good hands. The staff are all great and attentive. It gives me a lot of peace of mind when I’m traveling! I have only once utilized their veterinary services but I was very happy with the service I got at that time as well, I highly recommend them if you’re looking for a cat specialty vet!
Apr 14, 2025 · Teragram KlawI was very happy with Dr Ask who we saw several times over the years for Max. Unfortunately Dr Ask sold the practice this past year.I took 12 year old Max to the new Dr due to his losing weight. She took blood labs and prescribed vitamin B12. I was given incorrect info about the drug. I was told the B12 would increase his appetite. so when I saw Max had gained an appetite I stopped the drug; I took him back about a month later due to continued weight loss. She said to get an ultrasound. Why was that not her thought when originally examining Max. I mentioned this to her and she got defensive which I take as Not a good sign in a person.Do not depend on this new Dr to be a diagnostician. She is probably fine for vaccines & ear cleaning and grooming.I ended Max's pain and suffering at Metropolitan ER the next day. They are wonderful there to me and to Max.
May 23, 2025 · jillRecently acquired a band of strays as soon as I moved here and there were 10 kittens in the bunch. During a rain storm while waiting for TNR appointments a blight of URI hit many kitties and I needed them to be seen right away and Cats Only welcomed us immediately. We had 5 of them checked out and were given some antibiotics and eye medication which helped them stay alive. We lost 5 kitties during the blight and had to have one put the final rest at Cats Only and they were extremely supportive and very affordable. I plan on bringing my babies back for some follow-up appointments. Definitely recommend.
