I do NOT recommend this vet clinic especially for euthanasia. My family cat of 18 years had a horrific end of life because of this place. When I followed up with management she said she'd follow up after I made a request for a refund of services I never requested then blew me off.My cat of 18 years was at the end of her life. I wanted to humanely euthanize her when it was right for my family. One of the most difficult decisions I've ever made. I had her for my entire adult life. The vet we use at our new location had agreed to euthanize her but I didn't want to drive 2.5hrs with my dead cat in the car next to my child so I made an appt here as we used this vet for decades. I told them on the phone the situation and they agreed to make the appt to euthanize her. They never requested her full history and in fact it was me who asked if they wanted to at least see her recent blood work.Once we arrived the vet refused to euthanize her claiming she had too much quality of life because the cat jumped off of the table to walk around the room then demanded I pay to vaccinate her when she didn't need to be vaccinated!! She had dementia and always wandered around howling. Had they requested all her records they'd have known this. The vet even tried to get me to buy over 100$ worth of prescription food I didn't need and pushed bloodwork on me. The vet insisted on not euthanizing and vaccinating against my requests and I didn't want to just walk out without paying even though I should had. Regrettably I didn't.Not even a week later the very same thing the vet claimed was reason not to euthanize her (she can jump) took her to her death when she jumped off of my third story patio slamming onto the corner of the stone step causing her irreversible injury. She had dementia. My 12 year old daughter blamed herself and it was a very traumatic experience for my family. We thought we lost the cat until our community found her injured with a neighbor whom had attempted to save her. I was able to get her back and I had to make an emergency vet appointment on a Sunday morning to euthanize her and drive her 2.5hrs back to my family in Montrose to have a proper burial. The level of insincerity and lack of professionalism from the vet to management is disgusting. My family will never return here and I highly recommend you use other vets in the area. I've used Towne & Country many times and they are much more professional and better to work with. Take your pets somewhere else where they genuinely have your pets best interest in mind. - Sierra

  • Euthanasia Services: As indicated by the reviews, the clinic offers end-of-life services, though the specifics of the process are a point of concern for one reviewer.
  • Basic Surgical and Medical Treatments: While not explicitly detailed, general veterinary clinics typically handle common surgical procedures (e.g., spay/neuter) and medical treatments for various conditions.

Endless Mountains Veterinary Center, PC - Montrose Veterinary Clinic exhibits a mixed set of features and highlights, based on the provided customer reviews. It's important for potential clients to consider both the positive and challenging aspects:

  • Local Accessibility: Its location on S Main St in Montrose is a key highlight, providing convenient local access for pet owners in the area, reducing travel time for veterinary appointments. This is a significant advantage in a more rural setting where options might be spread out.
  • Offers Euthanasia Services: The clinic provides end-of-life care, which is an essential service for pet owners during difficult times, as highlighted by the intent of one of the reviewers.
  • Veterinarian's Medical Judgment: One review indicates a vet's judgment to refuse euthanasia based on their assessment of the pet's quality of life, which, while challenging for the owner, suggests a vet's commitment to their professional opinion regarding animal well-being.
  • Concerns Regarding Communication & Professionalism (Significant Highlight for Improvement):
    • Euthanasia Process & Protocol: A major concern highlighted is the "horrific end of life" experience for an 18-year-old cat, with the vet refusing euthanasia based on a quick assessment despite prior communication and the pet's known conditions (dementia). The lack of request for full history is a key point here.
    • Unrequested Services & Pushy Sales: Reviewers report feeling pressured into unwanted vaccinations and purchasing unnecessary prescription food, suggesting a focus on upselling rather than strictly necessary care.
    • Lack of Follow-Up & Accountability: A request for a refund was reportedly "blown off" by management, indicating a potential issue with customer service and accountability.
    • High Costs & Lack of Transparency: One review details unexpected high costs for tests and medication ($895.90 for initial visit, and additional charges for follow-up tests) without clear upfront communication, leading to financial strain and distress.
    • Inconsistent Communication Channels: The clinic's inability to see all necessary patient records (like recent blood work or dementia history) and perceived lack of a consistent "set veterinarian or group of doctors" (from an older review) can impact continuity of care.
    • Comparisons to Other Local Vets: Unfavorable comparisons are drawn to other local vets (Towne & Country, Northeast Vet Referral), citing them as "much more professional and better to work with" and offering "very good care" at more transparent costs.

These highlights suggest that while the clinic provides a vital local service, client experience can be highly variable and caution is advised based on recent feedback.
