Healing Creatures Animal Hospital provides a wide array of services designed to meet the diverse needs of pets. While specific detailed service lists are often best obtained directly from the hospital, based on common veterinary practices and available insights, we can infer a broad range of offerings. These typically include:
- Comprehensive Wellness Exams: Routine check-ups, vaccinations, parasite prevention, and general health assessments to keep pets healthy.
- Diagnostic Services: In-house laboratory testing, digital radiography (X-rays), and potentially ultrasound capabilities to accurately diagnose various conditions.
- Surgical Procedures: Routine surgeries such as spaying and neutering, as well as more complex soft tissue and orthopedic surgeries.
- Dental Care: Professional dental cleanings, extractions, and other oral health treatments to maintain a pet's dental hygiene.
- Emergency and Urgent Care: Addressing sudden illnesses or injuries that require immediate veterinary attention.
- Avian and Exotic Pet Medicine: Specialized care for birds, reptiles, small mammals (like rabbits, guinea pigs, ferrets), and other less common pets. This is a significant highlight, as specialized exotic pet care is not offered by all veterinary practices.
- Nutritional Counseling: Guidance on appropriate diets for pets of all ages and with various health conditions.
- Pain Management: Strategies and treatments to alleviate chronic or acute pain in pets.
- Dermatology: Diagnosis and treatment of skin conditions, allergies, and ear infections.
- Behavioral Counseling: Advice and strategies for managing common pet behavioral issues.
Healing Creatures Animal Hospital stands out for several key features and highlights that make it a compelling choice for pet owners in Pennsylvania.
- Specialized Avian and Exotic Pet Expertise: As evidenced by customer testimonials, Dr. Stern is highly praised for her knowledge and effectiveness in treating avian patients. This specialization is a significant advantage for owners of birds and other exotic pets, who often struggle to find veterinarians with the specific training and experience required for these animals. The review highlights a level of dedication, even bringing a sick bird into her own home for care, which speaks volumes about the commitment to patient well-being.
- Compassionate and Dedicated Staff: While one review noted a negative initial experience, the follow-up indicated an apology was received, suggesting a commitment to addressing concerns and a desire for improvement. The positive testimonial about Dr. Stern showcases a deeply caring and effective approach to patient care, providing not just medical treatment but also invaluable advice and support for pet owners. The willingness to go above and beyond, as illustrated by the home care for a bird, truly sets this practice apart.
- Comprehensive Care Approach: The mention of Dr. Stern providing "amazing advice for our dog as well" alongside avian care suggests a holistic approach to pet health, indicating that the expertise extends across different species. This can be incredibly convenient for multi-pet households, allowing them to consolidate their veterinary care with a trusted provider.
- Commitment to Patient Outcomes: The success story of the bird's recovery, after being misdiagnosed elsewhere, underscores the hospital's ability to provide accurate diagnoses and effective treatment plans, even in complex cases. This focus on positive outcomes is a crucial factor for pet owners seeking the best possible care for their companions.

Healing Creatures Animal Hospital Reviews
Disrespectful and unprofessional. My mother called for an appointment and they put her on hold (or so they thought) and immediately started repeatedly calling her an idiot and talking about what extra charges they could add to her bill if they did agree to see her. I’ve heard from so many people awful things about this place, but the fact their staff is so uncaring and rude to an elderly woman looking for help is the icing on the cake. Do not recommend. For what it’s worth: we did receive an apology when we called, so hopefully it’s a teachable moment for staff. She is still hysterical and feels like she did something wrong.
Jan 27, 2025 · Janelle BarberaDr. Stern is the best avian vet we have seen so far. She knows what she’s doing and didn’t question that my bird was sick, unlike the other vet I saw the previous day that told me my bird was merely carsick and that it wasn’t a big deal. I’m sure that if I had listened to the other vet, my bird would be dead by now. She did a lot for us, so of course, the bill wasn’t cheap. I can’t think of anyone else who does what she does since she brought our bird into her home and cared for my bird. It worked, and were so happy to have our baby back to normal. We’re going to even start bringing our dog here since she gave such amazing advice for our dog as well. (I included before and after care pictures.)
Aug 08, 2021 · Amanda BacaWe brought our dog into Dr. Stern after noticing increased itching and hair loss. We worked with Dr. Stern for over a year. Over the course of the year our dog continued to get worse. Our dog lost so much hair she didn’t even look like a German Shepherd anymore and was in a constant state of itching/ scratching/ and biting. She was miserable. I was at the point of considering putting her down since she was suffering so much. We finally gave up and decided to get a second opinion after dropping $1000’s on appointments and tests that showed no result. After one month at a new vet, our dog’s hair and energy came back. Not to mention that the new vet did not need to do any testing. The first two pictures were the day we went into the new vet (after being under Dr. Sterns care for a year). The last picture is exactly 33 days later after receiving REAL care from the new vet. Dr. Stern would rather see your animal suffer than heal them. She also calls you out and makes you feel like a horrible pet owner if you question her, or you do not agree to all her testing and treatments, or cannot afford to do everything she suggests. I could write a novel on my bad experiences here but would rather let these pictures share my story.
Jan 13, 2023 · Allison LawrenceThis place is awesome. When my elderly chihuahua/terrier mix had a cracked infected tooth and needed a dental cleaning, Healing Creatures fixed me up. Every interaction was positive, the surgeon was wonderful, and my dog got a new lease on life. I love the holistic approach and how they don't push medical treatments I don't want or need.
Oct 22, 2024 · Laura SheehanThis literally was the best vet I’ve been to so far. Dr Stern was patient and knowledgeable . She went the extra mile and thoroughly answered all my questions. Her staff was kind and helpful. And at the and of the visit we even left with a new puppy bag full of natural goodies . After many trials and errors I’m so glad I finally found a trustworthy vet concerned with the well-being of my animals and not in selling prescriptions and exams unnecessarily . I only wish I would have found them sooner.
