Kindred Integrative Veterinary Services Reviews
I had a great experience today as a new patient! The staff was very friendly and welcoming. Dr. Walter and Diane truly got to know my kitten. They didn’t just assess her and send us on our way. They sat and played with her, pet her and of course gave her some yummy treats. I could immediately see their love for their patients and the work they do. I have already scheduled my other pets there to become patients!
Oct 13, 2022 · Michele RoseIf I could give 10 stars I would. I recommend KIVS and Dr. Walter to EVERYONE. Whenever I have a question KIVS does their best to respond in "normal person" language not "veterinary" language. She takes her time with every animal I have ever brought in, and is BEYOND thoughtful. Not only is Dr. Walter and amazing person, but her staff is also incredible. They work in a very thankless, hard, stressful, etc., environment. I think they deserve all the praise and acknowledgement they can get.
Apr 04, 2025 · Kerri HanshawThs is a long review but important to read.I would give 0 starts if I could. We had been taking my dog and 3 cats to Dr walker for about 6 years. No problems everythibg was wonderful. When my daughter went to college her cat who was still very young started destroying the house, ripping up furniture and the carpets. We tried the spray bottle mehod and some other things we had read about. Nothing worked. My husband had had enough and said we need to get the cat de-clawed just in the front or he had to go. I know the cat was a terror because my daughter left for school. My husband and I both work full-time so the cat was left unsupervised during the day and continued to rip up the carpets and furniture. After work I stopped into the office just to ask about de-clawing and the doctor would not come see me. She told the staff to tell me she won't do it. I said ok, so I had to find a place willing to help me or i have to get rid of the cat. I couldn't get rid of him, he has an amazing home and is loved so much. THE STAFF told me all the local vets that would help me. They recommended 2 very good ones. I asked for the cat's records so I could take him to another vet to have this done. They printed only his out and I left. Another vet helped us out and the cat is THRIVING. He is fun and full of energy and is not destroying our furniture, curtains and carpets anymore. De-clawing is controversial BUT if i have to choose to have it done or get rid of the cat, i would have it done ONLY on the front.Fast forward 7 months... I made an appt for my dog for her annual visit. I came in and waited well over 45 minutes. I was told the Dr would be right with me. They took my dog's weight and gave her a bandana and a treat. I had been waiting for a long time and there was no one in the waiting room for at least 35 minutes. The tech went back to check on Dr Walter's and then came out and told me that she WOULD NOT SEE ME. I was completely blindsided. She didn't like that I had asked about having the procedure done on my cat 7 months earlier. However she let me call, make an appt for my dog and sit for almost an hour in the empty clinic before she Refused to see me. I then asked for my animals records and was told they couldn't give them to me and had to send them to another vet once we had one. I was flabbergasted. I then told the staff to make sure the Dr knew that her OWN staff helped me find an amazing vet who helped us with out cat when she wouldn't. I had to make an appt then for my dog at a different vet and kindred took about 5 weeks to send her records over. The new vet didn't understand why they wouldn't just give the records to me to pass on, but they would not.I am not sure what happened at kindred that changed over those 6 years... Dr Walters wouldn't even come out to talk to me. I have never met a vet who was not willing to come see a client in their own waiting room, especially when they had an appointment. Not only did we move all 4 of our animals to a new vet but we have family members who chose to leave kindred as well. Changing vets was the best thing we ever did.
Apr 08, 2025 · Rebekah SchafferDr. Walter is truly a gem! She’s amazing and her team is kind and compassionate. She took the time to get to know my dog and answered my questions. She did a tooth cleaning and extraction and I was very pleased with the experience.
May 07, 2023 · EI am extremely disappointed to have to write this review because I thought the world of Dr. Walter prior to this. Most importantly I trusted Dr. Walter and after this experience, no one should trust her with their animals. My elderly dog has lost most of her mobility in her back legs and for over a year she was under Dr. Walter’s care trying to control reoccurring UTIs. Because her mobility was limited she does not have full control of her bowels. She started having diarrhea on and off with no explanation and this lead to UTIs no matter how clean I kept her. Every 2-3 months we were going to Dr. Walter for over a year. I always asked her if there was anything more I could do to help prevent this and she assured me I was doing everything right. After more than a year of this on and off diarrhea Dr Walter finally decided to test her for Giardia. Not sure why it took over a year to test for this but I trusted her. We had been displaced from a house fire and moved to an apartment complex which is when this all started and now makes sense. How Dr Walter’s didn’t figured this out, I don’t know. She was well aware of the situation. In May of this year my dog started showing signs of another UTI so I called Dr Walter’s for an appointment and that is when Dr Walter REFUSED to see my dog. I still do not even understand what she thinks I did wrong. I thought she was thinking I was a different patient but when she got on the phone it was like the twilight zone. I followed the instructions that HER AND HER STAFF provided me. Which is often confusing enough since her and her staff are always on different pages. I had 1 person tell me I needed to meds for my other dog, only to go and pick up the meds and find out Dr Walter’s didn’t think it was necessary. But what is most concerning is that I found a new vet immediately and got the UTI completely under control. My dog has not had a UTI since May when the new vet explained to me that she is not expressing her bladder all the way and I need to assist her so that she fully empties it. How did Dr Walter’s not figured this out over the year+ that she was in her care? She collected +-$200 an appointment every few months and SHE allowed my dog to suffer. Her office is extremely chaotic which was not easy to deal with but I always sucked it up because I thought I found a vet that I trusted. She even refused to refill by dogs prescriptions dog food that she had been on for over a year that Dr Walter’s prescribed her in the first place! The only one that it hurt was my dog. What kind of vet disregards a pets best interest just to be petty. Very mature and professional of her. There is always an extremely long wait, even with an appointment you should plan to wait at least an hour before being seen. I have been forgotten in an exam room more than once and waited over 2 hours. I hope this review helps pet owners make a better choice for themselves, their wallets, and most importantly their pets!
