★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1This is an amazing practice! I’ve been so pleased with the all around care that my pets have received. All of the doctors are very patient and attentive, the staff is very kind and knowledgeable. Definitely a wonderful experience!
June 13 · Jessica FabianWe started going to Macomb Center Vets about a year ago. We needed to get our dog in rather urgently on a Saturday. The (now) former vet was 2 weeks out and the two ER vets happened to be slammed. Macomb Center Vets got her in within 2 hours. They did a full workup and the prescribed treatment was thoroughly effective. We were so impressed with the doctor, vet techs and desk staff that we immediately transferred her care to their office. We have a senior dog and they have been great to work with as we navigate her health
July 21 · Julie SIf I could give zero stars, I would. Our experience with this veterinary clinic was extremely disappointing due to the unprofessional and discourteous behavior of the front desk staff, and the lack of transparency in their billing process. We brought our family dog in for what i assumed would be a teeth cleaning. My son took the dog in and was presented with an estimate ranging from $1,500 to $2,000. Not fully understanding the implications, he signed off on it (we’ve since discussed this). No itemized breakdown or detailed explanation was given beforehand.Later that day, after I got home from work, we were informed that the procedure was already completed and our dog was ready for pick-up—still without a clear total. When I called to clarify, I was told the final cost was nearly $1,900. I expressed my frustration that no detailed cost analysis had been provided upfront, but acknowledged that since the procedure was done, we would take responsibility and pay. When we picked up our dog, the technician who helped us was kind and explained the procedure, showing us two before-and-after photos. However, we were also told that teeth had been extracted due to decay—something we were not informed about in advance. Again, I voiced my dissatisfaction with their lack of communication regarding both the medical and financial aspects of the visit. At the front desk, I placed my credit card down for payment. The staff member didn’t initially notice it, and when she asked for the card, I gestured to where it was, choosing not to speak further because I was already upset and didn’t want to escalate things. After the transaction, she handed my card back and repeatedly said “thank you” with a clear attitude when I didn’t respond verbally. I eventually told her, I’m sorry, I’m not against you guys, I’m just very unhappy with how everything was handled.Once outside, I looked at the invoice and noticed a $55 surcharge. I went back in to ask about it and was told it was a credit card fee—again, something we were never informed verbally of beforehand. I asked if the transaction could be refunded so I could pay it in cash instead, but was met with more defensiveness. Throughout the entire interaction, I remained calm, didn’t raise my voice, and simply stated my concerns. Despite this, I was accused of being rude.It seems that at this clinic, unless you smile and agree with everything without question, you’re considered difficult. I left feeling like I had to cater to the staff’s comfort, rather than being treated as a paying customer with legitimate concerns. I’m deeply disappointed and will be seeking care elsewhere in the future.
May 21 · Ash TAfter an unfortunate experience with our long-time vet, I had no trust at all, but a potentially serious issue led me to MCVH. Dr. Richmond & her staff are awesome! She is relatable, attentive, communicative, & completely focused on her patients' care. She explained everything to expect before and after the exam, and she was honestly interested in learning about her newest patient. She didn't push treatments or unnecessary tests; she made recommendations and asked to be kept informed of our progress. What a difference! I have the highest regard for this hospital and I am blessed to have been guided there.
May 21 · S SI Couldn't be happier with dr Richmond and the care here. Every staff member and both vets have been very kind and caring. I appreciated that they gave us multiple treatment options. So happy to have found this wonderful office!!!! Thank you for taking care of my gal Minnie!!!
