South Seattle Veterinary Hospital Reviews
Do not be fooled by the $50 first time examination, I brought my 14lb dog here because he has been limping an has an irritated paw the doctor barley looked at him lifted his lip for about a millisecond didn’t check his temperature/ears etc which is apart of a regular exam which is what I paid for he didn’t even want to look at the paw we were in the “exam room” for about 2 minutes or less all the doctor did was name prices and immediately pushed for X-rays I explained my dog was just walking fine and I believe he was bit by an insect or has something stuck in his paw I extended my dogs legs all 4 of them before bringing him in he showed no discomfort except for when I touched his paw which is clearly red/swollen the doctor kept naming prices for sedation an X-rays all while refusing to take a look at his paw he than went to bend my dogs paw which resulted in my dog yelping/jumping in pain when I would bend my dogs paw he wouldn’t react even when applying pressure to the swollen paw he wouldn’t react.. which makes me believe he squeezed my dogs swollen paw to get a reaction as soon as my dog yelped in pain from him squeezing his paw he said “see he needs an xray” I feel as if I paid $66 for my dog to be hurt to get no answers if I had felt like the staff here cared even a bit I would have had no issue paying for an xray sedation etc whatever my dog may need but they didn’t seem to care about his health or what was going on with him just immediately came in pricing things and when he applied a muzzle to my dog he did not do it with any sort of care and buckled the muzzle right through his hair, definitely do not bring your pet here all they care about is running unnecessary procedures for money without even taking a look at what you brought your animal in for first place there are definitely better optionsEdit/response: my dog was not aggressive actually! I requested a muzzle be put on because he got aggressive with me when I was trying to get a closer look myself before bringing him in.. I made it very clear he was not aggressive but could be due to his paw being irritated he reacted like any animal would when touching a sensitive area he didn’t not get the opportunity to get aggressive because I requested the muzzle before the doctor could look at his paw! I did not refuse sedation because of financial concerns either I only brought my dog here because his vet is closed Saturday/sundays and I wanted to get him help immediately and other 24hr hospitals were at capacity this one was empty and now I know why! My dog has now recieved the proper care he did not need sedation or an xray all he needed was antibiotics and a cone! He had a swollen paw from excessive licking I did not bother getting him sedated or x rayed at this hospital because i did not like the service that was provided i asked if I could be with my dog during sedation and was told that was not allowed I had to ask to be there for the exam as well! What do you have to hide ?? At my dogs vet I am always allowed to be by his side this is a terrible animal hospital and shame on the doctor for not even looking at my pets paw and for squeezing his paw how heartless do you need to be to hurt an animal that is clearly in distress!
Jul 16, 2025 · destinyI have taken my animals to South Seattle Vet for years of various after-hour concerns and emergencies, and they have always been there for us. Most recently, my dog got a terrible infection from an unsuccessful attempt by another vet to remove a lipoma, and Dr. Goraya redid the surgery, successfully removed the lipoma, and set up a series of reasonably-affordable bandage changes and laser treatments to see him all the way thru his healing. All of the staff there has been courteous and kind, even when different animal crises thru the years have had me melting down, and at times quite upset! If you are looking for a place that truly cares about your animals, South Seattle Vet Clinic is the place to go.
Mar 28, 2025 · Lisa BivensI had an appointment for my Husky, and everyone was so nice to my dog and others. There was another family with their dog, who seemed to have just given birth, and she was a little defensive towards other animals. She had a moment with a small dog that walked out, but the staff was quick to get her room ready so she wouldn't be so nervous. I'm sure the family was grateful, and so was I as my pup was about to walk out. Not to mention they are very affordable! Looking forward to coming back when needed!
Jul 06, 2025 · ShKira Ward (Kira)This place is our hero after another vet did a horrific job on an abscess surgery. They are very clean and fast and have modern procedures and tech compared to other vets in the area and gave us an incredibly affordable and surprisingly low price!Thank you, South Seattle Vet!!!
Jun 26, 2025 · Jason HokuFirst time visiting and was pleasantly surprised. I was seeing Dr McHaffie within 15 min without an appointment. Communication was excellent and most importantly, they got my dog's issue taken care of within a few hours, which included sedation.Kudos!
