VCA Albemarle Veterinary Health Care Center Reviews
I've been bringing my dog here since he was 5 weeks old. He is now almost 10 years old. Although it is pricier than some other practices, the value of the care we receive is unmatched. They are so patient and accommodating with my Moose. We've had everything from emergency visits to regular routine care and cannot say enough good things about the entire staff. They always get us into a room very quickly. Ashley is very sweet and gentle, and manages to win my nervous pup over with lots of peanut butter and positive praise. Dr. Washburn is thorough and knowledgeable, which makes me feel like we are in good hands. The care they have provided us has always shown that they truly understand that my dog is not just a pet, he is my family.
May 23, 2025 · KHaving JUST moved to Charlottesville 48 hrs prior, we were panicking when our cat wasn’t doing well. Despite having a screaming toddler in the room the staff were so kind and patient, even bringing a coloring sheet for our daughter. We heard the news no pet owner wants to hear & it was time to say goodbye. The Doctor was compassionate & honest. Staff made sure we clearly understood the financial aspect at every step as well. My heart is hurting but I am so grateful this last part of her journey was at least peaceful.
Apr 02, 2025 · Sarah EarpVery human staff. We had to let our dog go and they were always there for us. Never a rush never a judgment. In moments when you are in a very weak emotional estate, would be really easy to be taken advantage off. They did not do that and were very clear but with a gentle touch about the possible outcomes and impacts in moona’s health. 100% recommendable.
May 29, 2025 · Miguel Díaz HansenMy dog has been suffering from anxiety since last December. Long story short - my wife and I had a baby and then moved. When Seth was born, Oscar (my Beagle) didn't get the attention he was used to.Every time it thunderstorms, Oscar shakes, drools, and hyperventilates. I'd wrap a towel around him and hold him for hours. I was hopeful it would go away on its own or get better over time.I found VCA on Google based on the reviews, location, time availability, and the fact they accept Care Credit. Dr. Freedman lit up when he saw Oscar! Come to find out, he loves Beagles. Dr. Freedman was really great - he spent valuable time with Oscar, and once he checked him over, Oscar was diagnosed with anxiety. No surprise there! But based on his age and ability to get around, Oscar doesn't have anything wrong with his legs. Freedman answered all my questions and told me a few things I wasn't aware of before. He prescribed Oscar two medications for his anxiety and gave him two shots - rabies and distemper. Oscar can be a big baby, but he's always my baby. VCA accepted a $20 coupon online for first-time customers, which was really cool, and the service from the vet (Freedman) felt genuine...so I'll definitely bring Oscar back when he needs to be seen again (I just wish they were a little bit closer). Thanks, guys! :)
