Apr 16, 2025 · Eileen HarrityHave been a client of VCA Columbia Animal Hospital at Hickory RIdge for over a year now. Turns out several of my dog training friends also go to Dr. Kelso as their veterinarian. She is very experienced, knowledgeable, listens to all my questions and concerns, and is a wonderful combination of expertise and warmth. I am a retired physician so I have lots of questions. Dr. Kelso is patient and allows me to ask questions of the treatment plan so that we can come to something that we are both comfortable with. Both my rescue mixes compete in various dog sports and Dr. Kelso understands the demands of that, being a competitive handler herself. Completely satisfied and pleased with Dr. Kelso as our primary vet. Saw Dr. Moldenhauer for an emergency allergic reaction visit and she was reassuring and took good care of my dog. The support staff and the front desk staff are friendly and helpful. Highly recommend this practice.
Dec 06, 2024 · D HongEvery member of the staff here is incredible. When I first adopted my elderly dog 7 months ago from BARCS and brought him in to be treated for kennel cough, Dr. Kelso helped make sure that BARCS covered the cost of the entire visit thanks to a promotion at the time between them and the VCA.Fast forward to today, I had to put my sweet boy down. Amanda, the receptionist I spoke to on the phone, was patient and kind while helping me explore the euthanasia options. When I explained that I had no one to watch my two young kids at the time, she went the extra mile to make sure that my kids were looked after in the lobby so they didn’t need to see their dog pass away. Kathleen was telling stories and entertaining them while the sweet Vet Tech (I wish I could remember their name) that was assisting with the euthanasia was updating me about them whenever I asked. Dr. Rivera performed the euthanasia and she was very thorough and empathetic. This clinic will forever hold a special place in my heart.
May 07, 2025 · Kirsten GassertThe team at VCA Hickory Ridge is fantastic, especially Dr. Kelso and her staff. They're not only knowledgeable but also incredibly friendly. What I appreciate the most is their flexibility in scheduling appointments. Whether it's a routine check-up with just a couple of days' notice or a more urgent matter with same-day or next-day appointments, they've always got you covered. One unique aspect that sets them apart is the option to see a chiropractor on-site, in addition to standard veterinary treatment – a great added benefit. However, I have to mention that, like all VCA Hospitals, the prices are on the higher side, and that's the only reason I deducted a star.Despite that, the quality of service makes it a reliable choice for pet care.
Jan 12, 2024 · Cara GreggSpoke to staff months ago for a price quote for non-urgent testing. Prices were fair enough to wait months for a future appointment. Closer to appointment time. Estimate e-mailed. Price is double what was initially quoted. Now the required deposit due before the appointment is close to the total that was initially quoted. After waiting months for this appointment. This is very disappointing. I can understand a quote is a reference number range. But doubling the quoted price? I feel purposefully mislead by cost being misrepresented by one half of the total cost.Customer Beware of Prices with this practice!
