Petco Reviews
I’m sorry I have to give such a poor review but I honestly don’t know how to call attention to this issue. While I shop at Petco a lot, (I have a multi pet household), I am beyond upset that Petco absolutely tortures beta fish. They are kept in tiny, tiny bowls. They cannot swim and can hardly move. This cannot be allowed to continued. It is brutal!! I called the corporate office but I don’t have faith that anything will be done. Petco is so good for animals and their care in many instances but they fall so short where beta fish are concerned.
Jul 03, 2025 · Anna FawcettI’ve been coming here to this location ever since I was a child and now NEVER again. I was refused a fish sale today because apparently a 5.5 gallon tank isn’t big enough for a medium size fish and a small guppy?! Ridiculous of them to refuse me a sale. That is big enough and I’m never returning. I’ll go all the way to pet smart I don’t care I’m not coming back you guys are annoying. And you ruined my experience. Retarded to refuse sales.
Jun 06, 2025 · Shelby FelizWe brought our dog for grooming and she was hurt. The groomer , Christina , said in the Mt. Kisco store , hurt our dog while trimming her nails. After our dog squealed in pain I watched closely, at which point our dog almost fell off the table. I had to stop her from seriously injuring our dog. I'm glad our dog was not seriously injured when she almost fell off the table. I complained about this and the groomer said she didn't like getting her nails trimmed. She did not apologize. She appeared incompetent and disrespectful..I will never have my dog groomed at Petco every again.
May 14, 2025 · Pamela CorbettTerrible experience across multiple Petco locations (Mount Kisco, Hartsdale, Yonkers). As first-time fish owners, my daughter and I were sold a full GloFish setup and given completely wrong advice—including food not meant for GloFish and no warning about cycling the tank. Our fish died overnight—twice. The Hartsdale manager was rude and blamed us, and no one across three stores ever mentioned proper tank setup. I emailed customer service hoping for help and got no response. Spent over $200 and left with dead fish and a heartbroken 12-year-old. PetSmart treated us better in 2 minutes than Petco did in a week.
May 03, 2025 · Kristie Orlando-BangaliPeople that work there are good, although finding someone at the register when you’re ready is hit or miss. That’s not so bad, though. The economy is still meh and staffing is tough. What drives me crazy is that their pet food shelves are half empty but their aisles are constantly blocked with “overstock,” making it difficult to impossible to navigate their carts through the store.
