This unique practice, led by Dr. Magan Scheel, DVM, and supported by Crematory Director Patrick Scheel, is dedicated to ensuring that a pet's final moments are as peaceful, dignified, and stress-free as possible, all within the familiar comfort of home.
The core mission of From Paws to Wings is to offer an alternative to the often nerve-wracking and anxiety-inducing car ride and clinic visit that a beloved companion may endure in their final moments. By focusing on in-home services, the environment is kept calm, comfortable, and surrounded by loved ones, allowing for a truly gentle farewell. This service extends beyond just the final goodbye, encompassing vital preparation through hospice consultations and providing respectful after-care with reliable pet cremation services.
As local Missourians who understand the depth of the human-animal bond, the team at From Paws to Wings is committed to supporting families through this emotional journey, treating every pet with the utmost respect from the first call to the return of memorial keepsakes. The service is mobile, bringing high-quality, compassionate veterinary care directly to your doorstep for this specific, difficult need.

While the service is primarily mobile, bringing veterinary care directly to homes across Central Missouri, the physical location for the cremation service and base of operations is in Owensville. The extensive mobile nature of the practice is what defines its accessibility, catering to pets that may find travel or a clinic setting difficult or stressful. Their typical service area is within approximately 90 minutes of Owensville, MO, though clients should always call to confirm coverage and scheduling.
The care provided is delivered with the goal of convenience and comfort for the family and the pet. For the physical location, the facility is mindful of client needs:
- **Primary Service Area:** Central Missouri, radiating from Owensville, MO.
- **Physical Address (Base of Operations):** 2121 Simpson Rd, Owensville, MO 65066, USA.
- **Accessibility:** The location features a Wheelchair accessible parking lot.

From Paws to Wings specializes entirely in compassionate end-of-life care, focusing on three essential and interconnected areas: in-home veterinary services, veterinary hospice, and comprehensive after-care. These specialized services allow Dr. Scheel to provide a dignified and personalized transition for every pet.
- **In-Home Euthanasia:**- Providing the gift of a peaceful, final passing in the pet's most familiar and loved environment—the home.
- The process includes a calming pre-sedation to ensure the pet is deeply relaxed and pain-free before the final injection.
- Ample time is provided for the family to say their final goodbyes, offering space and support as needed.

- **Veterinary Hospice and Quality-of-Life Consultation:**- Providing advice and guidance to families navigating the final stages of a pet's life due to terminal illness, degenerative conditions, or old age.
- Focusing on pain management, comfort care, and determining a pet's quality of life.

- **Pet Cremation Services (After-Care):**- Dignified and respectful transport of the pet for cremation following the in-home service or independently if the pet passes naturally at home.
- Offering both **Private Cremation** (ashes returned to the owner in a chosen urn) and **Communal/Individual Cremation** (ashes not returned, respectfully scattered on the facility property).
- Facilitating ash returns and delivery of urns and memorial keepsakes.

- **Memorial Keepsakes:**- Providing complimentary keepsakes, such as an ink paw print and lock of fur.
- Offering additional, quality memorial items such as custom urns and clay paw prints, ensuring a lasting memory of the beloved companion.

---
The unique value proposition of From Paws to Wings is the blending of professional veterinary medicine with deep empathy and convenience, making the most difficult process as easy and gentle as possible for families in Missouri.
- **Dr. Magan Scheel's Expertise:** Dr. Scheel is a 2018 graduate of the University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine with experience in various aspects of veterinary medicine, including small animal, exotics, urgent care, and specialized hospice care. This ensures a professional and knowledgeable approach to end-of-life decision-making and care.
- **The Gift of Home:** The most significant feature is the mobility of the service, which eliminates the stress of a car ride and a cold clinic environment, allowing the pet to pass peacefully in their favorite spot, surrounded by the people they love most. This is consistently highlighted as a major benefit by thankful clients.
- **Comprehensive After-Care:** The service includes an integrated approach to after-care, from respectful transport to the handling of the cremation by Crematory Director Patrick Scheel, ensuring every step is treated with dignity and communication.
- **Compassionate and Accommodating:** The team is noted for being incredibly understanding and accommodating, allowing families the time and space they need for their goodbyes, even for last-minute family arrivals, as noted in client testimonials.
- **Memorialization:** The commitment to providing beautiful and meaningful keepsakes, such as custom urns and paw prints, helps families preserve the memory of their pet in a tangible way.
- **Holistic End-of-Life Support:** Offering both hospice consultations and euthanasia means the clinic is a resource for guidance, helping families make informed decisions about quality of life before the final time comes.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1- Very understanding people, my family had to drive into town last minute to be there for my little guy and Dr. Magan was super accommodating. Gave us the time and space we needed and I’m glad we were able to give him a comfortable goodbye surrounded by loved ones instead of a nerve-wrecking vet visit. His urn and paw prints/clay prints look amazing as well, it is just what Teddy deserves to be remembered by. Thank you guys. August 27 · Gaby Gonzalez
- Losing your beloved family pet is always hard, but Dr. Magan with From Paws to Wings made the process much easier to handle. Our sweet 10 year old german shepherd developed bone cancer and his health declined rapidly. My regular vet does not do in home euthanasia, but she gave me the number for Dr. Magan. She was kind and compassionate throughout the whole process. She made sure he was able to peacefully pass over and gave us as much time as we needed to say goodbye. We were given some lovely memorial keepsakes and purchased some additional ones. The cost was very reasonable. I'm truly grateful for her and the service she provides. My boy was able to pass comfortably in his home, surrounded by the people that love him. I would highly recommend From Paws to Wings to anyone. July 08 · Brittany Schnacke
- Our Buck was ready to cross the rainbow bridge and we called 5 other vets. They were all on vacation. I looked at this website and loved what they had to offer. Called the number she told me she wasn't able to get our dog until Friday due to medicine not available and beng booked. She asked how urgent it needed to be done and I explained. She told me hang tight she needed to check something. She called me back less than 5 min later and told me she could fit us in between 12 and 1 today. She asked all the questions needed via text. Called at 11:45 and let us know she was on her way and will be here in 15 min. She came in explained everything and had some paperwork. Walked us through step by step and allowed us to decide how long the process needed to take. Once it was done she stepped out to let us say our final goodbyes. Came back in explained how long it would take to get her ashes, brought in her assistant and loaded buck up very gently and easy.We appreciate you both coming today and making the process so easy and calming ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ August 04 · Ashley Martin
- Hands down best place to go for your pets needs, and your wants as a pet owner to pet owner. The cheapest rates around and Very professional an I trust them 110% with my pet. Very clean/organized setup so there's not any mixups. The comfort level and options they privately give for you and your pet...is beyond awesome. Forget a 5 star rating, they get 10 star rating from myself. Ive gotten the hair clipping rosin, ink paw print, clay paw print, and cremation all in one package for a small pet (1+/- lbs) for a VERY GOOD PRICE. I RECOMMEND THEM 100%!! June 14 · Joshua Kempf
- Highly recommend, pricing was very reasonable for in home services (we compared and totals were similar to going into a vet). They do not charge extra for size of dog, truly flat rate pricing, no unexpected costs (website detailed everything). Very respectful to communicate with and thoroughly explained to us what would take place upon arrival. The vet is clearly very skilled, she was affectionate towards our dog and he truly seemed to have no pain as he transitioned. Extremely compassionate towards us and our dog during services. You will be treated kindly during this difficult time if you choose to use Paws to Wings! February 21 · Jen Nadler
